Dr. Luna -
Chapter 58
Lilly watched as Tristan, Tyler, Kade and Cedric came crashing into the room below them. They were storming around the room frantically. She couldn't hear them but could see them. Likewise, she couldn't mind link or mate link to them either.
"Man you weren't kidding about your friends. They look like they are ready to kill... What did you mean when you said if you were human?"
Lilly redirected her gaze to him as she watched the men scatter in different directions looking for her. Kade stayed in the room near the body of the man she had laid unconscious. Most likely to question him when he woke up. Sorry Kade, he isn't waking up anytime "I meant exactly the way it sounded. Maybe, if I were a normal human, then this would freak me out. I'm not." Lilly was watching the wheels turning in Reeds head.
soon.
"You aren't a witch or a demon I can tell that right off. Are you a shifter or a fairy?" Reed was looking at her with interest.
"Yes." Lilly grinned and then giggled. She was both. She probably shouldn't be telling a stranger, but he showed her he was a warlock. A secret for a secret. She would keep the fairy princess off the table though. Kira was no longer antsy and was back to being calm. She also wasn't perceiving him as a threat anymore. Suzaku also never showed up. Which she was sure she would if there was any real danger. Though she didn't exist in Lilly's head. She would come only if she was called she only hung around in the beginning since it was new to Lilly.
Reed began chuckling. "Well, no wonder you knocked him out cold. My stepsister is a fairy. Her dad, who is a fairy, married my mom. My dad died before I was born and her mother died from a demon. So technically, she is my stepsister, but we have been together since we were toddlers. She is my straight up sister to me."
"Your sister and dad are fairies? I'd like to meet them one day." Lilly was curious to meet more of her kind.
"My sister is here somewhere. I'll introduce her to you." Reed looked down and saw the worried look on Kade's face. "So... if I bring us back am I going to die?"
Lilly chuckled. "No, but why did you project me here in the first place?"
Reed looked away and then back towards Lilly. "Okay... but don't tell anyone. It was a reflex at first. You sort of scared me, haha. I thought this would be safer for me..."
"I'm Lilly. Let's be friends." Lilly walked up and extended her hand to him. He shook it gently and gave her a big flashy smile. Lilly felt her world shift and in the next moment she was standing beside Kade.
"LILLY!" Kade's arms crashed around Lilly and he pulled her deep in his arms as he glared at the man in front of him.
"Ugh. Easy Kade. I'm fine. This is my new friend Reed." Lilly pushed herself back out of his arms and motioned towards Reed.
"I take it this is the boyfriend?" Reed noticed how deep Kade had embraced her.
"No. This is just my friend." Lilly giggled. Oh yeah, speaking of boyfriend. Tyler I am fine. I am in the haunted room with Kade and my new friend. Sorry for worrying you.
A loud commotion was heard and then, in a blur, she was in Tyler's arms. He scooped her up and held her flush against him.
I couldn't feel you at all. You're okay, thank goodness you're okay. I felt numb. I could feel you. I couldn't reach you. That's enough heart attacks for me. I'm just going to sew you to myself. Tyler's mind raced with word after word. Never needing to speak any. They both were able to communicate everything.
Lilly felt the small trembling in his hands. She could feel how he was feeling and she knew how he was thinking. He suddenly couldn't feel her, couldn't mind link with her. It was like she vanished and that made him race towards a dangerous conclusion. Regardless, something had happened to her and he couldn't find her. She pressed her face into his neck and nuzzled into his mate mark. She gently kissed it and squeezed her arms around him to calm her mate.
It was a simple gesture, but it was one that brought a relaxed smile to Tyler's lips. He pulled back and leaned his head into hers. His world wasn't collapsing; she was right here in front of him. He glanced up at Reed. He knew from Lilly's thoughts that he was not a bad guy... even if he was interested in his girl at first.
"My mom wasn't kidding when she said that werewolves were passionate creatures that worshipped their mates." Reed grinned awkwardly at the intense moment in front of him. Most people cared about having an audience. For the couple in front of him it was as if they were the only people who existed. It was very clear there would be no room for anyone else in their hearts.
"A warlock huh? I have met a few before. Though I never met one who could astral project." Tyler straightened up, keeping Lilly locked in his side, and extended his hand towards Reed who shook it firmly.
"I have never met a werewolf before... well at least knowingly." Reed chuckled.
"What should we do with this guy? And what happened here?" Kade asked as he nudged the guy with his foot.
"Lilly is probably the scariest girl I have ever met. That's what happened here. I swear she broke his arm and knocked him out in a single hit. It's enough that I am going to try my best to never tick her off... As for him, I say just leave him there and we bail. Let the next group find him and take care of it." Reed shrugged his shoulders. He didn't care to get involved with taking his co-worker to the hospital.
"Sounds good. Let's head out the side. Avery is worried about you... and maybe a bit angry you ordered her to leave." Tyler raised his eyes towards Lilly who shrugged indifferently.
"I was protecting her. I don't regret it and would do it again." Lilly let Tyler lead her towards the side exit while Reed and Kade followed. When the door opened there was Cedric and then Avery, with liquid crystals on her eyelashes, leaning into Caleb's arms. Then, there was Tristan, standing a few feet away in the distance. His face looked void of expression.
"Ordered... so are you like a higher rank werewolf?" Reed asked.
"She's our Luna and right there is the Alpha of our pack." Kade said as he motioned to Tyler.
"No s**t?! Wow I got to meet a real Alpha and Luna. That's amazing." Reed's cell phone started going off in that moment. "Hello. I'm over by the fun house.... No I didn't leave without you... but... if...listen...fine! Man, my sister is a pain. She's on her way over here though, Lilly. So you will be able to meet her soon."
Lilly nodded towards Reed and then smiled at Avery. "You mad at me?"
Avery shook her head no. "I'm supposed to protect you. Not the other way around. I felt so helpless that I knew I was only a hindrance to you." Caleb's arm tightened around her.
"Thank you, Lilly. For protecting my Avey girl. She's my everything and I selfishly appreciate it." Caleb lowered his head in appreciation towards Lilly.
"Stop Caleb. Avery is my friend. Plus, you are wrong Avery. It is my job to protect you too." Lilly watched as a girl with dark hair and sun kissed skin walked towards them. She had an orange glow around her and was looking directly at Reed. When she got a few feet away she stopped and turned her gaze to Lilly in shock.
"Oh, my word.... I don't even know how to act right now..." She bowed her head towards Lilly and Tyler while fidgeting nervously.
"That's not necessary. Please come closer so we can meet." Lilly's voice was smooth and gentle.
The girl looked up in excitement. "I can't believe I am actually meeting 'the' princess and 'the' prince. This is like the best day ever." "How does she know who we are?" Tyler leaned his head towards Lilly in confusion.
"All fairies recognize the royals. You can't see it, but there is a special aura and scent that comes off of you. It leads us to you and lets us recognize you immediately. Hey Rosa, long time no see." Cedric flashed a smile towards the girl.
"Cedric, nice to see you again. You been taking good care of the royals?" Rosa asked sternly.
"I try." Cedric chuckled out. "But our royals sure are a handful."
Rosa then looked over at Tristan who had walked up closer towards Lilly. Her body became noticeably rigid and fear flashed over her eyes. Guardians were not someone any fairy wanted to upset.
"Don't be frightened Rosa. I would like for us to be good friends. Don't be worried about Tristan he won't bother you... that's something special he likes to do to me." Lilly looked at Tristan out of the corner of her eye and watched a side smile curl on his lips. She knew he was upset about their fighting and would be worried if she would be mad at him. It was a conversation they could have at a different time.
"I won't bother you... unless you give me a reason to." Tristan looked over at Rosa and then back to Lilly. She was too trusting. Sure, most fairies would never harm her. He was readily willing to take that chance on this girl and extend his hand in friendship. They knew nothing about her to know if she was a problem or not.
She watched Rosa looking a bit confused suddenly. It was like she was searching for something. Then her gaze directed over towards Reed... but it wasn't Reed it was the guy next to him. Her eyes were locked with Kade.
"MATE." Kade's voice resonated loudly as he looked at Rosa.
