Dr. Luna
Chapter 59

"MATE." Kade's voice resonated loudly as he looked at Rosa. He walked up to the girl slowly. Not wanting to scare her. She might not have a wolf in her screaming mate, but she should feel the pull towards him as her other half. Still he wanted to make sure she was receptive to him. "I have been waiting for you for a very long time. You are the half of me that has been missing." Kade reached his hand out and gently touched Rosa's cheek. His eyes teared up as he looked at the girl with a look of pure adoration. He didn't know this is what it felt like to find your mate. How instantly someone could become more important than everyone else.

Rosa looked up at Kade. She could feel herself being pulled to him. She had heard from other fairies before who mated to werewolves what it was like. That they instantly felt drawn and connected to the person. And then once they received their mating mark, they were consumed with thoughts of only them. They were right (though she didn't know about the mark yet). She just knew. Knew he was the one she had been waiting for. She was meant to be his. She smiled at him and allowed herself to get lost in his eyes. He looked at her like she was the only person who existed in the world.

Tyler cleared his throat. "You two kids want to go and get acquainted?" He watched as the two snapped back to reality and noticeably reddened.

"Do you want to walk around with me so we can talk?" Kade asked and watched Rosa nod her head. "If you don't mind Alpha then I would appreciate it." Kade watched Tyler nod his head for him to go and he reached and grabbed Rosa's hand. Tyler watched Kade walk away with Rosa. He knew what Kade was feeling right now. He had found his reason for living. Nothing would ever be the same. He was happy for his Beta. In this moment for him, life was beginning.

"I guess I can talk with her later." Lilly giggled with a shrug.

"Baby, you'll be able to talk to her whenever you want. She is Kade's mate. She will be joining us in our pack and in our house." Tyler gave her a wry smile.

"What if she doesn't want to?" Reed suddenly shot off, feeling protective over his sister.

"Of course, if she doesn't want to then that is one thing, but that unlikely. You can see it. She felt it too." Cedric looked over at Reed and nodded.

"Yeah, she did look quite smitten with him... didn't she?" Reed looked out in the distance where his sister disappeared. As long as this is what she wanted then he had no issues with it.

"Don't worry Reed. Kade is a great guy. I love him to pieces, and I know he will treat Rosa well." Lilly knew just how wonderful Kade really was. Any girl would be lucky to have him. "Well, I guess this means we will get to see you often too." "Yeah, maybe I'll be lucky, and I'll be a mate to one of your pack wolves. Instant girlfriend sounds great to me." Reed grinned at his idea.

"Just be careful, some of these she wolves are troublemakers." Tyler tugged Lilly and winked at her.

"Sounds like most women I know then." Reed teased. "I need to get back to my job. I still have a shift to finish. Let's exchange numbers and talk more later?"

"Okay sounds good. I imagine we will be making a trip to your home soon for Rosa's things." Lilly said with a wink. Reed nodded his head and walked back towards the concession stands.

Another fairy would be joining their pack. That was exciting for Lilly. Plus, she met a witch... warlock and witnessed an interesting power. There was still an elephant in the room though. She needed to talk things out with Tyler and Tristan. More so with Tristan. The two of them were fighting and he couldn't read her mind. Tyler already would know what she was thinking. She could sense that he had mixed emotions over it. That while he didn't like it... at all. He understood. She was too powerful to keep locked away. She was an asset and regrettably, one they would have to use. She wanted Tyler with her though to help talk with Tristan. After all, he was her mate. No one wanted to keep her safe more than him.

"Would you three mind excusing us for a moment? We have something to discuss." Tyler, knowing Lilly's mind, took the initiative and asked Avery, Caleb and Cedric to give them some time to sort things out. He knew that Tristan was still feeling bad about fighting with Lilly and that Lilly felt uncomfortable with it too. He wanted to get everything right and back on good terms. He wanted everything patched up since this was supposed to be their day of fun. He watched his three pack members head off towards the arcade again then turned and faced Lilly and Tristan.

"I feel like Kade getting a fairy for a mate is much more than coincidence. Feels like fate is playing with our deck of cards." Lilly pondered, openly thinking of the odds. What are the odds for both the Alpha and the Beta to have fairy mates?

Tristan looked at her and then back to Tyler. He felt a bit insecure suddenly because he couldn't take it if she was still mad at him. He watched as Tyler did a head motion over towards Lilly for him to say something. "Can we talk about earlier?" His voice came out meeker then he had planned.

Lilly turned and looked up at Tristan. She knew he just wanted to keep her safe, but smothering her wasn't the answer. They were both being a bit stubborn honestly. She couldn't help but feeling bad when she saw the vulnerability in his eyes and heard it in his voice.

"Yes, I think we need to talk about earlier. Tristan. I know your job is to keep me safe, but I have a job too. I sometimes take risk unnecessarily... I'll give you that. However, the time will come when I have to fight too. I have too much strength to be hidden away. So let's work something out... I'll try to not take unnecessary risks and you will be understanding and stand by me when I do need to fight." Lilly was trying to be fair about it, after all.

Tristan nodded his head, after seeing Tyler nodding in agreement as well. "Lilly, I do want you to know something. I know I am overprotective of you, but you are all I have. You and Tyler are my family. Guardian's are taken away from their family so that their loyalties are honed for only the royal family. I don't have anyone else, not even a pack to return to. If something were to happen to you two... there would be no point for me."

Hearing this broke Lilly's heart. She felt it stir Tyler's too. He was admitting that the two of them were his only family and that he didn't have a purpose without them. She was able to understand him better in that moment. If something were to happen to Tyler, she was still surrounded by her pack and also had the fairy kingdom. All Tristan had was them. However, she wanted to make sure he knew something. Both her and Tyler wanted him to know this.

"You know, the Diamond Pack is your pack now. I want you to look at the pack as your home. If something was every to happen to both of us, you belong there. They would also need your strength. Just something to remember. You wouldn't have to return to the fairy kingdom; you could stay here. Tristan, you are our family. From now on, you will be considered a brother to us. And when the day comes, you can be our children's Uncle Tristan." Lilly hugged Tristan tightly while Tyler came and patted him on the back. "Of course, you know, the closer you are with someone, the more likely you are to fight. Just because we fight, doesn't mean you should think the world is over." Lilly teased tapping into Tristan's chest.

"In his defense, I feel the same way when we fight Lill. I always regret this temper I have because it gets me in trouble with you and then I'm left with out my air." Tyler put out a fake pouty lip towards Lilly.

"Smooth. I bet you tell all the ladies that." Lilly walked into Tyler's side letting him drape his arm around her shoulder. She felt his lips brush against her head. In that moment, Lilly felt that she really could take on anything with the special group of people she was able to surround herself with. She could never imagine going back to how life was before. How incredibly lonely she actually was. She loved her family, her strong pack. Whatever destiny had in store; she was certain that they would overcome it. She wouldn't borrow trouble from tomorrow though, she was going to live right here in the present. She was going to make memories and seize life. No longer would she miss out. She looked up at her two overprotective animals. She loved them both dearly and couldn't imagine her life without them. "Who wants to take me on in bumper cars?"

"You sure you want to do that? I will show you no mercy." Tristan flashed his bright smile towards her.

"Oh? You aren't going to go all knight on me and protect my car from getting hit by strangers?" Lilly looked up from under her eyelids at him.

"Naw, you're strong remember? You don't need a white knight." Tristan teased with a chuckle.

"Man, I wish I had that recorded." Lilly said with sly amusement.

"You two might want to just sit out. I mean, you can't compete with an Alpha sooo.... Tyler watched as the two raised their eyes up at him.

"To the bumper cars! I'll mind link the others." Lilly grinned as they marched towards the battlegrounds. She might love these guys to pieces but when it came to a competition... all was fair in love and war.
