Myles Pov

After graduation, the summer started to fly by quickly. Me and Lily ended up being attached at the h*p. She kissed me freely and without worry of what other people would think.

I convinced Lily to join me, Amber, and my parents to my family’s beach house.

When she told me she’s never been to the beach, it shocked me. Everyone needs to go at least once.

It was a long drive, but she seemed up for it.

Brody and Conner invited themselves, but Conner offered to take his dads truck so we could all ride more comfortably. Conner insisted it was at least he could do for crashing my 4th of july.

He smiled at me innocently. But we both knew the only two reasons why he wanted to go. One the beach and two girls in bikinis.

My parents didn’t seem to mind the last min changes. “The more the merrier,” my mom said. She was always up for entertaining.

Lily Pov

When Myles asked me to go away with him and his family for the 4th of july to their beach house, I got really nervous.

I had never been away from my mom for a week or really left the pack except for school and the few clubs Myles dragged me to the last few weeks.

I honestly wasn’t sure how my mom would react to me being gone so long.

She never minded leaving me at the cottage while she stayed at the pack house, but that was on pack grounds, and wolves were always protecting the packs borders in shifts.

I was an adult now, but part of me felt like she wouldn’t want me to go.

After I thought on it for a bit, I told Myles that “I would love to go. I just had to talk to my mom first.”

Raya POV

I was outside watering the flowers when I saw Lily and Myles walking this way hand in hand. Her head was leaning against his arm.

They looked so sweet. I’ve never seen her so happy even with Ben.

“Hi Mrs Martin, the flowers are looking really good. Lily said she needed to be home for dinner and wanted to make sure she got home safely and on time.”

He gave me his million dollar smile. Such a flirt.

“Oh yeah, Myles, what was going to happen from the pack house to here?”

He giggled. “Okay, you caught me, I just wanted more time with her.”

They were spending nearly every minute together.

Myles was such a cheese ball. He reminded me so much of Charles. I think that’s why I liked him and Lily together.

“Well, I better take off Mrs. Martin. Lily, text me when you’re done, and I’ll walk back over to get you.”

“Myles, why dont you just stay for dinner?”

“Don’t have to ask me twice, Lily said you were making cheeseburgers.”

He rubbed his belly.

Lily giggled. It was good to hear her laugh like that again.

When dinner was over, I noticed Lily start to get really nervous.

“Mom, I need to talk to you. Well, we need to talk to you.”

I froze. The first thought that came to mind was please moon goddess, don’t let my baby be pregnant yet.”

” The gammas invited me to their beach house for a week for the 4th of July.”

Oh, thank goodness, that was it.

“Mom, I would really like to go, I know it’s a few hours away, and I haven’t been away from the pack much, but I think it would be really good for me.

“Hunny, that seems fine with me, but promise me you won’t go off by yourself. Stay with someone from the pack at all times.”

“Myles, promise me you’ll take care of baby or I swear to the moon goddess I will end you, I don’t care if you’re the gammas son.”

“I promise ma’am with my life.”

“Good, she’s more special than you realize, but I think you already know that.”

I looked at him with a knowing look.

Myles face looked shocked.

Myles and Lily don’t know that I knew their little secret.

Remi, the Lunas brother, was out watching the rogues when they entered our pack lands.

He was good about staying under the radar.

He saw Lily shift, and he saw Myles and Lily kill the rogues and bury their bodies. Before any guards caught them.

Remi said the rogues had to have been watching the shift of rotation of guards.

He heard Myles swear to keep her secret.

I was relieved that she had Myles there with her.

I still didn’t understand what she was doing out there, though. It’s been bugging me for some time.

Remi said she couldn’t hear what they were talking about before the rogues approached them.

But the fact Myles killed and buried their bodies to protect my daughter made me accept him as my daughters boyfriend. Even if she takes him as a chosen mate, he got my vote.

I rather him then Ben at this point, I heard the betas daughter telling some girl nammed lexi that her and Ben had been sleeping together before he left and she was most likely going to be the next luna.

I couldn’t help but wonder if there was some truth in that, and she was the reason Ben stopped talking to my daughter so suddenly.

If the Alpha found out Myles withheld infortmation about rogues entering the pack grounds without contacting the gaurds and alpha, he would instantly be sent to the dungeons no matter the rank.

Luna Meghan knew what happened to, I mean, obviously, it was her brother who gave us the information.

We were both happy all the rogues were killed, and none could report back to the rogue king with what they’ve seen.

I was grateful she had someone other than me to know her secret, and I was grateful he was good and patient with her.

I dont think Myles knows what the symbol on her head means, but I’m guessing he has an idea, just not saying anything.

I know he’s not with my daughter just because of that. He was in love with her before he saw her shift. He might. I’ve just not realized it.

But he looked at her with adoration and love sinse they were pups. I think he was just temporarily blinded to it because of Ben.

They told me they were leaving tomorrow in Conners dads truck.

I was happy to hear more male pack members were going. I know they would help keep her safe.

I trusted the gamma family they were good people and good to me and to my daughter.

Lily POV

Conner pulled in to pick me up. Myles jumped out to help me with my suitcase.

“Geeze Lil, you take your whole closet?”

I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Well, dummy, I’ve never been on vacation or overnight anywhere. I didn’t know what to take.”

“Okay, fair enough.”

I kissed my mom goodbye, and we headed out.”

Myles goofy butt sang every lyric to literally any love song that came on the radio.

I swear Brody was ready to kill him. Myles sat right behind him, and he would stretch out his arm and touch Brody’s cheek with his hand and then bring his hands to his heart for every sappy song. All while singing, very loudly.

Weirdly enough, Amber knew every word, too.

“Okay, how do you guys know every love song that comes on the radio?”

Amber answered, “Just wait and see when we get to the beach house.” Myles nodded his head in agreement.

A few hours passed, and Amber and Myles were still singing along to the song “Your Man” by Josh Turner when we finally pulled in.

Brody had the door open before the truck was even in park and yelled “Finally” a little bit too dramatic.

We all laughed and got out.

The house was huge, nothing like I’ve ever seen in person. I couldn’t stop staring. It was three stores high all white with vines going up the side of the house. It didn’t look like something that should be by the beach but maybe a vineyard.

I could see the neighbors in a distance, but there was quite a bit of privacy.

Myles looked at me, “It’s not even the best part.”

He held his hand out for me to take, and we headed inside.

As soon as I entered I heard music blaring and his mom singing loudly “You’re still the one” by Shania Twain.

Myles gave me a cheesy grin. “Now you know where we get it from.”

His mom practically ran towards me.

“Lily, sweetie, I’m so glad you here were going to have the best time.” She put her hands on both my cheeks.

“Have Myles take your stuff up to your room and show you around and then meet me on the back porch

“Kevin’s got the grill started, i hope steak kabobs sound good?”

“Sounds perfect, Mrs. Cooper.”

“None of the formalities here dear, it’s Sylivia to you or mom, whatever you perfer were practically family anways.”

Myles was beaming with joy what his mom said.

“She’s always liked you, Lily, ready to go see your room?”

We headed to the third floor and, straight to the end of the hallway, laid a set of double doors. Myles pushed it open, and there was the most elegant room I’ve ever seen.

It was done in light blues and white with light wood everywhere. There was a king-size bed with a thick white blanket and at least ten throw pillows on the bed.

The best part of the room was the bay window with seating looking out to the water. There were bookshelves on both sides of the window filled with romance novels.

I elbowed Myles, “I may not leave this room.”

He smiled and opened the door to the bathroom. There was a huge and, I mean, the biggest bathtub I’ve ever seen looking out to the water.

“Yup, like I said, never leaving this room.” “Who needs food anyway.”

I noticed a door was open on the other side of the bathroom.

“Myles, please tell me I share a bathroom with Amber and not Conner or Brody, I may have to take back what I said about never leaving this room,”

He laughed nervously.

“Actually, that’s my room. Amber is on the floor beneath us, and Brody and Conner are across the hall in bunk beds.”

“You did not put them in bunk beds?”

“Oh, but I did.”

“You mean to tell me for a week straight those two have to share a room?”

I lost it. I literally was laughing so hard I had to bend over and hold my knees for support.

We heard yelling across the hall.

Myles sighed. “So the bickering begins.”

“Yeah, too bad for us. we have to hear it all week.”

“You shouldn’t be able to hear it too bad from your room. For whatever reason, that room seems to be the most soundproof out of the rest.

We heard a loud thud and ran into the hallway.

Amber was running up the stairs and met us at Cooper and Brodys room.

Brody had Cooper in a head lock, yelling, “I get the top bunk. I’m not sleeping under your loud a*s this time.”

Amber shook her head. ” Are you guys literally fighting over who gets the top bunk?”

Cooper tied to talk, but couldn’t make much noise being stuck around Brodys arms.

All Brody could say was, “He had top bunk last time.”

I heard Amber whisper to Myles. ” When are you going to tell them about the spare bedroom downstairs?”

I couldn’t help but yell, “Oh my gosh, you didn’t.”

Myles gave me an evil grin.

“Hey Lil, you can’t tell me they don’t deserve it. They did crash our week.”

“Okay, good point.”

We all walked away and headed downstairs to the back porch.

It was huge, and i mean huge. it easily could fit fifty people on there.There was a large Tiki type bar with stools and a grill on the side. Two very large patio tables with umbrellas. Close to the stairs was a very large outdoor L shaped couch with a fireplace in the center.

When you walked down the stairs, there was a swing on one side and lawn chairs on the other.

I looked up at Myles, “Okay, maybe I’ll come out of my bedroom.”

“I figured you wouldn’t last after seeing this. It’s the best part of the house.”
