First Love Of The Alpha
Chapter 38

Ben’s POV

I saw Lily and them walk into the country club. I was honestly shocked to see them out. It wasn’t really Lily’s thing. Least it never used to be. But hell, I didn’t really know her anymore.

Brooke and Lexi asked me to go out. If I’m being honest, I would have gone out with anyone. I was getting lonely sitting at the pack house.

My dad basically told me I wouldn’t be taking over the alpha position until I found a luna. I just wasn’t ready to jump into anything yet.

I looked out on the dance floor, not only was Lily here but so was Louise. Great, both my exes in one place. What were the odds of this happening again.

I watched Lily take off her jacket. She looked stunning . The music shifted to a slow song. I watched myles take her hand to the dance floor. I decided this was as good of time as any to apologize. Least this way, there was no chance of hearing them have s*x.

I went to get up when Brooke grabbed my arm. “Where are you going?”

“I’m going to go talk to Lily.”

Brooke stood up and blocked my path. “What is your problem, Brooke?”

Her face turned three shades of red. “Lily is my f*****g problem and the fact she has every ranked member wrapped around her finger. I don’t get it.”

I looked at her amused, which I know pissed her off more.”She’s actually worthy of the love, unlike you.”

Her mouth dropped slightly and walked around another table to get away from her.

I got nervous the closer I got to Lily. I asked her to dance, which Myles didn’t look thrilled by any means. She finally agreed and it was more awkward then what I was hoping for.

I listened to the lyrics. ” Minutes and hours and years may go by, but my heart knows nothing of time. So don’t cry, just keep me right there, in your dreams.”

I had a love, hate relationship for this song. It came on the radio quite a bit at alpha school. Always made me think of Lily.

I worked up the courage and I finally apologized to her for everything. I was relieved to hear her say she’ll forgive me one day. Even possibly be friends. I would take anything I could get. I will always and I mean always care for her.

She shocked me when she layed her head on my chest. I couldn’t help but feel like this was some sort of goodbye or maybe just an ending to a chapter. Either way it was a sad moment.

I held her close and inhaled her scent for one last time. It wasn’t the same. But I could still smell Lily’s slightly over Myles scent.

We danced the rest of the song in silence. “Love is our road to destiny. Nothing can change what is meant to be, forever love…”

The song came to an end and Myles asked if he could have her back.

I wanted to let them know I accept that she will never be mine again and that I was letting her go. The only thing I could think of to say was, “She’s all yours.”

Lily gave a small smile, understanding what I meant by that. Even Myles looked slightly shocked.

Maybe we all could be friends again. Hopefully we were headed down the right path.

I went back to sit with Brooke and Lexi. They both were giving me a death glare. I just rolled my eyes and sat down.

Brooke huffed. “So was it worth it? Having one last dance with the omega?” Now are you actually going to find someone worth being a Luna?”

I growled and bared my teeth to her. “She would be a far better luna than you would ever be and when I do take someone as a luna, I promise you it will never be you.”

She scrunched her eyebrows. “Then why come out with us.”

“Simply, I wanted to go out and you asked. I was hoping you would change Brooke. But that’s clearly not going to happen. I however am trying to change. Maybe coming here with you was a horrible mistake. Never ask me again.”

“How can you do this to me? You were my first, i deserved so much more from you.”

“Brooke, you took advantage that I was very drunk. Don’t forget how we got started. I was just the i***t that enjoyed how it felt and continued to make the same stupid mistake. Trust me, Brooke, you will never be in bed again.”

I got up from the table. I was done with this conversation. I headed to the bar when I noticed Louise and Conner talking really close and smiling. I hope they work out. They both deserve to be happy.

I sat down at the bar and had a few drinks. I watched the horse races. Not that there was anything else on TV, and I clearly was no longer in a social mood.

Amber came up at sat next to me. She actually gave me a small smile. “You did a good thing.”

“What do you mean?”

“Apologizing to Lily, you know, basically telling Myles that you were okay with the two of them together. Not that it would make a difference. But maybe there’s hope for you yet. Im not saying I forgive you. Part of me still really wants to kick your a*s. But I miss hanging out with you. We all do. Least the version that didn’t cheat on Lily and turned into a pig headed a*s.”

I laughed. “Yeah I know I was an a*s. I have no excuses. In the last few years, I just haven’t felt like myself. I lost who I was at some point. I just gotta find my way back.”

“You’re headed in the right direction. Just give Myles time. He will forgive you. I know your dad pushed you to do a lot of these things. I also know what Brooke did to get you into bed, but you could have stopped that at any given time. Making one mistake and then turned around making it over and over again was stupid. “

“I know it was.”

“She would have forgiven you. If you told her right away what Brooke did. Probably wouldn’t be in part of this mess.”

“I liked to think that all my mistakes were meant to happen so she would end up with Myles. Don’t get me wrong, it hurts like hell. But she seems more comfortable with him, then she ever was with me.”

She nodded.”I’m not going to lie. i think everything she has been through did make a huge factor in what got her out of her shell .”

“Well, least she’s happy. That’s all the matters. “

She looked at me really sad. “You know you deserve to be happy too.”

I didn’t say it allowed, but I dont think I could ever be happy again. I hurt the one person I’ve ever truly loved. I don’t see how I could love like that again.

She gave me one of her evil grins.”Besides, you can make it up to me when you become alpha. You just need to turn the other cheek whenever Brooke needs her a*s kicked again.”

I laughed. “Didn’t you get enough of that when you literally pulled her hair out.”

“Yikes, so you heard about that?”

“Who hasn’t? You crazy a*s.”

“We both know I would do anything to protect Lily, and we both know deep down you would do the same. But we’re calling it a night. I’ll see you around Ben.”

“Bye, Amber.”

She waved and ran to the rest of the group. Brody gave me a weird look. Probably wondering what we were talking about.

Well, that went better than I thought. I figured Amber would be one of the last people to forgive me if she forgave me at all.

For the first time in weeks I actually felt excited for the future at the pack.

I put my hand up, signaling the bartender for one more drink.

Few minute’s later, I got a link from Landyn. “Rouges, Lily is in danger. We need help. Theres at least thirty out in the parking lot by the woods.”

“f**k” Why would they risk coming out here. There was multiple different packs here. It was on neutral grounds and hardly any humans came here. But still so risky. I downed my drink and ran out.

When I got outside I saw Landyn, Brody and Amber fighting the rogues that were near the woods and Conner and Louise were fighting the ones that got through and were close to Lily.

What shocked me was Myles was standing in front of Lily, not fighting at all. Why didn’t Lily and Myles shift. She had a wolf she could protect herself and from what I heard from my mom she’s already taken out a few rogues with Myles.

A few rogues got past Louise and Conner and Myles actually looked scared. I saw Lily was shaking and clenched onto Myles shirt, with tears falling down her cheeks.

I was clearly missing something. But my wolf hated seeing her like that.

I roared loudly. I wanted the rogues to shake, knowing an alpha was here.

I shifted and grinned when I heard Myles say ” we also have an alpha.”

I watched the rogue panic and move a step closer. I jumped and took his head off his body while he was in mid shift.

I watched fifty or so more rogues come out of the woods. I look at Myles and Lily. ‘You guys have to shift.”

I saw them both start to panic and tears form in Lily’s eyes again. She seemed like she was having an inner battle with herself.

Lily looked at Myles, and he nodded. I think coming to the conclusion that they had to tell me what was going on.

Lily looked back to me.”I can’t shift.”

I looked at her, confused. “I thought you said you had a wolf, I mean, we can link, and you’ve killed rogues before in wolf from.”

Myles spoke. I could tell Lily was hesitant about telling me. “She’s pregnant, Ben. If she shifts, she would kill our pups.”

I shifted back into human form. I couldn’t help the look of shock on my face. My heart hurt a little. I never thought about Lily having pups with Myles.

“Okay, what do we do then? Can you drive her out of here?”

“They slashed the trucks tires. We have no way out.”

“You can take my car, but it’s a stick shift. Did you ever learn?”

You put his head down, clearly pissed at himself. “No, I have no idea how.”

“f**k, okay who else knows how to drive stick?”

Myles shook his head. “I don’t know anyone who knows how.”

I sent out a link to everyone here. “Who can drive a stick to get Lily out?”

Amber linked. “Just you Ben, you need to get her the hell out of here now. More are coming. Myles needs to shift and help and you need to get her back to the pack NOW.”

Myles looked pissed, clearly not liking the idea of her being alone with me.

His face softened and turned to Lily. “You need to go with Ben, he will keep you and our pups safe. I need you safe baby, so you need to go. I love you.”

She nodded and stuttered “I love you too.”

Myles gave me a stern look. “Keep her safe, Ben. I’ll link you when we clear it out and head back. We will try to follow your car when we can”

Twenty plus rogues headed in our direction and Myles yelled. “GO, NOW.”

I slipped what was left of my jeans on and grabbed the keys that were on the ground. I grabbed Lily’s hand and we ran to the direction of my car, with rogues on our asses. She wasn’t moving fast enough so I picked her up. She placed her hands around my neck and held me tightly.

I unlocked the car and sat her down in the passenger seat.

When I shut the door and turned around, three rogues were coming up quick. I shifted partially, and I ripped the heart out of the first one and I heard Lily gasp.

I got distracted looking to make sure Lily was okay and the second bit my shoulder. I grabbed him by the throat and snapped his neck.

The third wolf backed away after seeing that it took little to no effort for me to kill them. Good, he should be scared.

I walked around the car and jumped in the driver seat. I looked out the review mirror, and at least ten more rogues were headed our way. I started the car and fled out of the parking lot.

I got some distance between us and the rogues and i felt my body start to relax some. I linked Myles that I got Lily away, and so far, we were safe.

I zoned out, waiting for a reply, when I heard the ripping of fabric. Lily had torn part of the bottom of her dress.

I looked at her confused, and she pressed it against my right shoulder to soak up some of the b***d. I forgot I got bit. I was so worried about getting Lily out of there that the pain of the bite, hadn’t caught up to my brain yet.

I flinched a little. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. B***d was still coming out. I was trying to get it to stop, so it would start to heal.”

“It’s okay. I appreciate you trying to take care of it.”

“Least I could do. I’m sorry you got hurt because of me.”

“I would do anything for you, anything to protect you.”

There was an awkward silence for a few minutes.

She put her head down with so much guilt. “I know you would, I just don’t want anyone getting hurt because of me.”

“Lily, I can’t help but feel like there’s more to come and that you’re going to need even more protection. I mean, besides being pregnant, is there anything else I should know.

She bit her l*p. “There’s actually a lot I want to tell you. I just wasn’t sure how much i could trust you with. I mean with everything that’s happened. I’m honestly not sure who to trust anymore. “

“What do you mean by that?”

“I’m learning that the people i thought I could trust the most have betrayed me.”

Ouch, I can’t help but feel that it was a jab at me, and it honestly probably was. But I have a feeling she’s referring to someone else too.

I sighed. “I know I’ve made so many mistakes, but I care about you so much. I always have. You were my first love. I don’t think that kind of love just goes away. What I am trying to say is if your life is in danger and you know anything, please tell me. I would do anything to make sure you’re safe.”

She blushed slightly and shifted in her seat. “Let’s get back to the pack and we can sit down with everyone and I’ll explain everything .”

“So all of our friends know?”

“Yeah, they do, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. I’ve been quite the a*s.”

We sat in silence. Lily kept checking my wound and i couldn’t help by sneak glances at her. She really is beautiful. My wolf and I will always hurt for her.

“Ben, I will always love you too, I’m just not in love with you anymore. But I know what you mean, it doesn’t just go away.”

I smiled at her, but i say nothing. What could I say. That I’m still madly in love with her and I don’t I ever think will ever fall in love with anyone else. I’ve accepted that she’s with Myles, I mean I really didn’t have a choice. She pregnant with his pup for crying out loud.

We were a few miles from the pack house when I got a link from Landyn. “Don’t alert Lily yet, but Amber is hurt pretty bad. She jumped in front of Brody when a rogue went for his neck. Louise is driving her to the pack with Brody, and we’re following behind in wolf form”

Lily was staring at me attentively. “Who linked you? I can’t get anyone to link me back.”

“Everyone is headed back to the pack.”

“And? You’re not telling me something. Ben, please, no more lies.”

f**k when she puts crap on me like that it makes it really hard not tell her.

I felt another link come in from Landyn. “She’s not breathing, Brody is doing CPR. They should be right behind you. Louise is driving the car at full speed.”

Lily was still staring at me. “Ben, what’s going on? Her voice was shaky now.

Before I could answer I saw a car coming up behind us really quickly. I figured it was Louise. I linked Landyn. “Is that you guys coming up fast behind us?”

“Uh, no man. I don’t see any cars around us.”

What the f**k. Whoever was in that car ran into the back of us. Lily screamed. “Lily, just brace yourself.”She screamed again when she saw another car coming straight at us. I tried to swerve, but they hit us just right that our car flipped over and rolled down the road.

I was knocked out. I think only for a few seconds because I didn’t see anyone approaching us.

I checked Lily’s pulse. Thank goddess she’s still breathing. She was just knocked out really hard. I saw the gash on the side of her head. It was still bleeding. Hopefully, she doesn’t have a skull fracture. “s**t” Her pup. Myles is going to f*****g kill me.

I saw headlights and a car approaching. f**k, here we go. I had to climb out the window. Lily was still dangling from being upside down. Luckily she had her seat belt on.

I stood, trying to prepare myself. The car came to a hault, and two dark figures stepped out. I saw another set of headlights headed in our direction.

They got closer so I could actually see there faces. “What the f**k? What are you doing here?”
