First Love Of The Alpha -
Chapter 45
Myles Pov
I woke up to Lily’s naked body in my arms. I rubbed up her arms and down her back. She let out a small m**n. “Mmhm, that feels so good, baby. My whole body is just sore.” Damn, she’s perfect.
“Sorry baby, is that because of me?” I started to k**s her neck.
“Well, I guess technically it’s because of you, but I was just going to blame it on being pregnant with twins.”
“Oh, I was hoping it was because of all the wonderful loving I gave you last night.” I nibbled on my mark on her neck.
“Whatever you want it to be, baby.” She lifted her leg over my waist. Enjoying the sensations I was giving her.
I moved my nibbles from her neck to her earlobe. “Happy birthday, sweet heart. How do you wanna celebrate?”
“She pretended to act like she was sleeping. “Hmm, I think sleep. Lots and lots of sleep.”
I poked her thigh with my already harden member. “You sure you don’t want anything else, princess?”
“No, I think I’m good with just sleep.”
I rubbed my member between her folds, coating myself with her wetness. “You still sure, baby.” She m****d softly and ran her hand into my hair, tugging slightly.
“I might not be as tired as I was.” That was all I needed to hear.
I kissed up the other side of her neck and to her earlobe, lightly sucking on it. “Get on all fours, baby. It won’t put so much pressure on your stomach and the pups.”
She never objected and turned her body over seductively, giving me a good view of what the moon goddess gave her.
I massaged her lower back and moved down to her h**s and her a*s. I knew her muscles were aching, and to be honest, I didn’t mind massaging it either.
After rubbing her a*s for a few minutes, I took my thumbs and massage her clit . She started to m**n and her hands were going weak. She moved down to her forearms, pushing her a*s even more in the air.
I took this opportunity to go down on her from behind. I bit her a*s softly and moved my way to her sweet center. She’s gasped by the sudden sensation of my tongue. I devoured her, sucking up any juices that came from her.
I felt her body tense up. I knew she was getting close. I snuck a finger in, curling it up and hitting the perfect spot over and over again till she became unglued. She started panting my name.
After she finished, she fell down on her side. “I swear that never gets old.”
We heard a sudden knock on the door. I swear I’m going to kill whoever ever is behind that door.
“Guys, it’s Conner.” Perfect, i dont mind killing him
“As much as I dont want to interrupt your sexy time, and you know I’m all for it. I tried not to hear too much through the door, but i did and decided it would be rude for me not to let Lily finish. She is really loud.”
Lily covered her face with the sheet. “Conner, I swear to the moon. goddess say way you want before i kill you.”
I heard him mumble. ” Should have waited till you finished, grouchy a*s.”
“Conner!”
“Okay, okay, something has happened to Ben. Guys, it’s bad. It’s so bad. You need to get down to the hospital. Like now. They wouldn’t tell us who it was till about ten mintues ago.”
I tossed Lily, my T-shirt to slip on, and I slid on sweat pants so I could open the door.
I grabbed Conner by the arm and pulled him in. “What happened?”
“Rogues, man. At least, that’s what we think. They got through the patrol without being detected. Brody went on patrol after you and Lily went to bed, and he said there wasn’t hardly any smell. It was so faint that it was almost undetected. They carried Ben to the hospital, but his face was so deformed that they couldn’t even make out who it was at first.”
Lily jumped out of bed and ran to the closet. I could feel her anxiety and worry through our bond.
Conner leaned against the door. “He hasn’t woken up, and his healing is dangerously slow. The doctors are not sure if he will make it if the healing doesn’t pick up.”
Lily came out fully dressed in leggings and a fitted t-shirt and zip-up Hoodie. She tossed me a shirt and sat at it on the edge of the bed and put her sneakers on. She didn’t even bother to look in the mirror and put her hair in a crazy bun. She hadn’t spoken about anything Conner had said. It was actually starting to worry me. She showed no emotion, just got up and got ready.
“Okay, I’m ready.”
Conner looked at me confused like he was half expecting for Lily to lose her s**t or panic, and honestly, so was I.
“Okay, sweetie, dont you want to take a minute? Let it all sink in before you go down? I know your hormones can get you in a way sometimes, and this is a lot.”
She scowled me and Conner. Good, least I wasn’t at the end of her raft alone. “What do you mean my hormones can get in the way sometimes?”
s**t, s**t, s**t. I saw Conner slowly backing away to the door. “All I meant, sweetie, is I don’t want you to get too emotional and erratic in front of the doctors. “
“My emotions will be based on how he is, not because I’m pregnant. You boys are stupid, and if I want to act all crazy I will, and I doubt anyone will say two shits about it.”
I wasn’t trying to hurt her feelings. I was worried about what all this stress was going to do to our pups and her. It’s been a constant one thing after another. I just couldn’t get the right words out. She never said it, but not finding her power last night was bugging her more than she let on. I know she feels completely useless and just a burden to everyone.
I placed my hand on her stomach. “I know, I was just thinking of the pups.”
I felt her calm down some when she realized what I meant now. She took my hand into hers, and we headed down to the hospital.
Amber and Brody were already seated in the waiting room, and Landyn was pacing. I looked at Amber, and she linked me. “He’s been pacing since he found out it was Ben. He’s trying to put the pieces together. I think he knows he needs to go talk to Luna Meghan and hear her thoughts.” I nodded at her so she knew I understood. I just didn’t know what I could say.
Lily walked in and went straight to Landyn and stepped in front of him so he would stop pacing. She pulled him into a tight hug and looked up to him. “Is anyone sitting with him right now?”
“No, he’s alone right now.”
“Okay, well, let’s go in together, and we can talk.”
I saw Landyn look down to the ground but gave a small nod.
I took a seat next to Brody and Amber. “Does anyone know exactly what happened?”
Brody looked pale. “No, I saw him walk into the woods after you guys took off, but he ran all the time. Nearly every night here lately. Usually, it’s not long, just enough to blow off some steam. He had to have been out there for hours. I’m not even sure how the rogues got in. I didn’t even smell them till the edge of our boarders. It wasn’t strong, though. It wasn’t normal.”
“The rogues me and Lily killed didn’t have a scent either. The one rogue, the younger brother. He mentioned that his scent was blocked from a witch. Which actually has me really worried. She may be helping them more than I realized.”
Amber looked annoyed. “Now there’s witches involved? This is getting completely crazy. All over a power that they can’t even have.”
“They don’t know that yet.”
“Why can’t we just tell them, and this whole thing can be over with?”
Brody looked at Amber with sad eyes. “They will take the baby. We need to kill all of them. Only chance they stay safe.”
Now Amhers’ face was paling. I knew she didn’t want anything to happen to Lily or her niece and nephew. But I understood her frustration. All of this was turning to be a bit much.
I look up to see Lexi sitting at the nurses’ station. It actually stunned me to see her there. Amber pulled on my arm and whispered in my ear. ” She just started a job here. She was working when I had one of my checkups done.”
I felt my body tense up. I knew I couldn’t do anything. Hell, we shipped Brooke off for being part of this whole thing with Luna and Lily. I just hated the feeling that Lexi was getting away with it. Brooke was least dealing with a consequence. Her life was completely turned upside down over there. Between drills and rules. Two things Brooke was not very good at.
Lexi gave me a small smile and waved. I hadn’t realized I’ve been staring. It wasn’t in a friendly way, but she probably took it that way. I didn’t wave back. I just shook my head back at her and went back to waiting.
I knew Ben and I weren’t in the best place, but I’d like to think that things were slowly improving. He doesn’t deserve to die, not like this, not when he’s been trying so hard to make things right.
Lily’s POV
I think my brain just went on autopilot as soon as Conner said rogues and that Ben was hurt. Someone else had gotten hurt because of me. This pain was really starting to get unbearable, and there wasn’t a single thing I could do to help them. I had no wolf, and for as I know, no sort of power. I was sitting duck, and I hated it.
I tossed on the first thing I pulled off the closet shelf and grabbed Myles a shirt.
Myles made the comment about me taking a minute. At first, I thought I was hurting his macho pride for worrying about another man and being my ex, I knew it wasn’t helping the situation. But he had to understand that Ben getting hurt was my fault.
I realized a moment later that he was worried about the pups and extra stress. I calmed down and felt pretty guilty that i just assumed the worst. I took his hand in mine, just to reassure him that I was okay and we headed down to the hospital.
As soon as we opened the hospital doors, I noticed Landyn pacing he was beyond frantic. Ben is an alpha. Him getting hurt this bad had to have been calculated. I heard him mumble under his breath. “There were no rogue bodies. Why weren’t there any other bodies.”
I stopped in front of him, and he stopped when he realized he couldn’t walk any further. His eyes were on the binge of forming tears. I pulled him in a tight hug. I could tell he didn’t want to let go. He stepped back when he felt one of the pups kick. He gave me a small smile.
“Is anyone sitting with him right now?”
“No, he’s alone right now.”
I was relieved. I didn’t want to deal with Luna or the alpha. But it did make me wonder why they weren’t down here sitting with their son.
“Okay, well, let’s go in together, and we can talk.”
I grabbed his hand and pulled him into Ben’s hospital room. He looked in worse shape than I even imagined. He face was purple and swollen with a big gash across the side of his head. He had a broken leg and arm, and Landyn said he had a punctured lung and was stabbed close to his heart. He had already gone through surgery when Brody noticed his tattoo on his arm. He was too bloody to see it before.
Landyn pulled up two chairs and set them down next to him. I took Ben’s hand with one of mine and the other I held onto Landyns.
He looked over Ben with saddest eyes. “You know, we haven’t really even talked about us being brothers. We didn’t even get the chance. I think we were both avoiding it slightly. Now it just seems so stupid. We’ve been best friends are whole lives basically brothers anyway. I didn’t think us being actual b***d related would have made a difference.”
“Well, when he wakes, tell him that. Tell him you want to be his brother. I also think you need to tell the alpha. He’s been walking around, not knowing he has another son. He’s not the best guy, mostly just power-hungry. But I know he would be proud to call you his son.”
“Part of me does, and the other part of me doesn’t want to deal with what Ben’s been going through. I know that selfish, but I’m afraid he’ll try to put the alpha position on me since I’m technically the oldest, and Ben hasn’t been doing things alpha Rodgers way. The alpha position is his. It’s always been his, and I won’t ever come in between that.”
“Your good brother Landyn and even better man.”
“I just can’t figure out how they got in undetected. Ben didn’t even have a chance. How odd is it that he couldn’t even take one rogue out. That’s completely unlike him or any alpha it’s just weird.”
“I don’t know if you remember me telling you that the rogues that attacked me and Myles had hardly any scent. They were feet away before we caught any smell. They mentioned a witch giving them some sort of potion. I’m wondering if she’s still helping them. I always knew luna had a witch put a spell around her office so no one could hear in if the door was closed. I’m kind of wondering if it’s not the same witch.”
“Actually, Lily, I think you’re on to something. But if they were working with witches, then we were seriously in over our heads.”
“But what if it’s just one witch and there holding something over her head. Witches hate wolves. Why the hell would they work with rogues unless they had something on her.”
“Maybe I can get the witches’ name out of Lunas’s head, and we can find her and see if we can help and turn her to our side.”
“Yes, I was thinking the same thing.”
I jumped slightly. Landyn took his hand out of mine and placed it on my back. “Is it the pups Lil? Do we need to get you checked out? I know you’re getting close.”
“No, I’m okay. I swear I just felt Ben squeeze my hand. I know that’s impossible, but I swear I felt it.”
Landyn looked at me confused and then flipped Ben’s hand over. We both went wide-eyed. Almost all the cuts on his hand were completely healed, and the healing was starting to go up his arm.
“Lily, I think your power his healing. Put your hands on his stomach wound.”
Landyn opened his gown slightly, and I placed my hands on his chest, where they cut him open for surgery and his stab wound.
Myles barged in, and I could see the jealously all over his face. He had to have felt the anxiety through our bond.
“Lily, what the f**k?”
Landyn stepped in between us. “Myles, you need to calm down. This is not the time to get jealous. You don’t get jealous of me, Brody and Conner hugging her. She is just helping Ben.”
“How is having her hands all over him under his hospital gown helping?”
I lifted my hands up for a second to sneak a peak, and the wound was already practically closed up and healed. I yelled. “Oh my goddess, it’s working. It’s actually working. “
Both Myles and Landyn ran to my side. I lifted my hands so they could look.
“I’m a healer. I can heal people!” I said it with so much over excitment. I just was finally feeling useful.
Myles looked at Landyn with so much confusion. “Why wasn’t he healing on his own?”
“Me and Lily were talking about a witch being involved with Luna and the rogues. Shes been helping them cover up their scents. What if she gave something to Ben so you couldn’t defend himself or heal? That’s the only thing that makes sense of why Ben didn’t take out a single rogue. I really hope Luna Meghan doesn’t have any part in this, but my gut is telling me she is.”
Myles left the door open, and Conner, Amber, and Brody came in. Brody voice was soft. “I think you guys are on to something. Now we just have to get this witch before something worse happens, and well before the attack.”
Landyn nodded. “Yeah, I’m going to work on that.”
I lifted my hands again, and the healing was spreading. I placed my hands on his face. I felt Myles tense up next to me. I knew he hated me touching Ben, but he knew I was saving him, so he kept his mouth shut.
Before we knew it, his face was starting to look like Ben again. I grabbed onto his hand again, and this time, I knew he squeezed my hand.
He started to cough. “Lily?”
“I’m here. Everyone’s here!”
“Water?”
Amber poured him a glass with a straw that was next to the bed in case he did wake.
We raised his bed, and she sat down next to him and put the straw to his mouth. He sucked the whole thing down.
“Thanks, What happened?”
Landyn cleared his throat. “Well, we were hoping you could tell us. Oh, and Lily got her power. She healed you when your wolf couldn’t.”
He smiled up at me with pride. I couldn’t help but blush a little. I felt Myles scowling him from behind me.
“All I remember was shifting back to human form, and then there were six rogues in front of me. I didn’t even smell them till they were right there. One of them shifted and tossed down something in front of me. I heard the shatter of glass, and then green smoke came up. i don’t remember anything after that.”
Landyn nodded. “That just confirmed what Lily and I were thinking. Witches are involved.”
Luna Meghan and Alpha Rodger came in. I wasn’t sure if Luna was shocked to see us all there or the fact that Ben was awake. But I knew she was definitely shocked to see me holding Ben’s hand. Even though she didn’t know the reason for it.
She looked around the room. Her eyes darted from one person to the next. She clearly was become slightly paranoid. “What are you guys doing in here?”
Landyn gave her a snarky grin. He was the only one who would outright disrespect her. “Visiting our friend.”
“Oh, I didn’t realize you all made amends.”
“Yes, you did. you saw us all out together last night.”
Alpha Rodger gave her a puzzled look. “I didn’t know what your guys were doing out there.”
I think we all rolled our eyes at her.
Landyn was full-blown glaring. I knew he was having this gut-wrenching feeling that she was involved, and truthfully, so was I.
The tension was thick, and I was to damn anxious to make a noise. Myles finally spoke. “Well, me and Lily need to get going. It is still her birthday, and I have a surprise for her. “
He looked at Amber. “You coming?”
She clasped her hands and jumped up and down. “I wouldn’t miss it.”
I was clearly missing something.
Landyn linked us. “I’m not leaving him with her.”
I stood frozen, hesitant about leaving Landyn alone with Luna Meghan and Alpha Rodger. Conner hadn’t moved an inch from his place on the couch.
He linked me. “Don’t worry, Lil. I won’t let either one out of my sight.” He gave me a reassuring nod, and I didn’t know what to do besides give a slight smile.
Myles put his hand on my lower back and led me out of the room with Amber and Brody both behind us.
I looked at Myles, confused. “What surprised do you have? Or were you just trying to find an excuse for us to escape that awkwardness?”
He giggled. “No, I actually have a surprise. I was going to give it to you earlier, but we got interrupted.”
“Do you really think your sister should be following us for that?”
He gave me a delivish look.”Oh my goddess Lily, it’s not s****l thing. Get your mind out of the gutter.”
“Well, when we got interrupted earlier, we were being all freaky. How was I supposed to know what you meant.”
He led us back to our room, and I really got confused. “I thought you said it wasn’t anything s****l?”
“Trust me, Lily, it’s not. I mean, it will be later. We still need to finish what we started, but this is something for the babies.”
I felt my eyes lit up, and I got extremely excited. We hadn’t hardly got anything for the babies besides some clothes and a double bassinet.
He opened the door to our room, and I got even more confused. Nothing had changed.
He pointed to the door in the far right corner. “That door is always locked.”
“Well, go try it now.”
“Well, okay.” I looked back at Amber, and she shooed me in that direction. Whatever it was, she clearly was in on it.
I opened the door to see Myles parents on the other side with a complete babies room. It had two cribs, one done in light purples and the other one done in pale blues. There was a dresser, changing table, and a rocking chair. Anything and everything a baby could possibly need was in this room.
I stood there completely stunned. The walls were done in a cream color with a large blue and purple rug in the center. I looked into one of the cribs, and there was a small white wolf plush.
I couldn’t contain my emotions anymore and just started bawling. The room was absolutely perfect.
Myles guided me to the rocking chair to sit. “Baby, are you okay? Is all of this okay?” He started to wipe my tears with his thumbs.
I mumbled through my tears. “Yes, it’s perfect. How did you even have the time to do this? You were with me basically all the time.”
“My mom, dad, and Amber did it.”
“I love everything about this. I can’t wait for them to get here. This actually takes so much stress off of me, and I love that it’s right through our room. Is this the only way in?”
“Yes, baby, they will be completely safe.”
“Thank you. Thank you to all of you for doing this for me.”
Sylvia crouched down and gave me a hug. “I loved every bit of it, sweetie. “
I sat in the rocking chair for a while, just soaking it all in. I hadn’t even realized that everyone had left, but Myles. “Happy Birthday, baby. I really hope this is okay?”
“Seriously, it’s the best birthday I’ve ever had.”
“Okay, well, come on. Luna Meghan finally left and there, bringing a cake down to Bens hospital room so he can be involved too.”
I looked at him, shocked. “That is really big of you.”
“It’s your day, and it seems right.”
He helped me out of the chair and kissed my forehead. We walked down with his arm wrapped around me tightly.
