Chapter 46

Luna Meghans POV

I knew by how Ben stood up to me outside that he somehow was on to me. I wasn’t sure what he knew or if it was even enough that I should be concerned . But that whole group was acting weird. They all took a stance to have Ben’s back at any given moment.

Landyn hasn’t been much better. Maybe not as forward, but he definitely seemed off when I was asking about Brooke. I don’t think she’s stupid enough to tell Landyn, but then again, she was stupid enough to obsess over Ben enough to get sent away by her parents.

I walked into the hospital room with Rodger expecting no one to be there. I was utterly shocked to see them all there and to see Ben actually awake and looking practically healed. I felt my anxiety start to build up.

I looked down to see Lily holding onto Ben’s hand. Their whole relationship confused me. They rejected each other, but yet here they were holding hands like they were best friends.

I looked around to see everyone giving me an awkward glare. The one look that actually concerned me was Landyns. He held so much hatred and disgust. It’s like he knew I was responsible for what happened to Ben.

Rodger noticed the tension in the room. He gave me a confused look. I was just hoping he was too stupid to figure out what I had done. I mean, he obviously was too stupid to figure out that Landyn was his own son, and they were almost the spitting image of each other.

I was grateful when Myles spoke up, saying him and Lily had to leave to do something for her birthday, but I wasn’t even more relieved that he asked Amber to go with them. That girl had a temper on her, and from what I heard from her fighting skills, she was just as powerful in human form as she was in wolf. I did not want to be on the other end of that.

I noticed that Landyn stayed behind. Which didn’t exactly shock me. I mean, he was Ben’s best friend and technically his beta. But what really annoyed me was to see Conner all sprawled out on the couch.

I gritted through my teeth. “Don’t you need to go join your friends?”

“Nah, I’m good.” He crossed his arms and just looked at me like he was unamused.

“Well, I don’t really think you should be here.”

Ben rolled his eyes at me. “Mom stop he’s one of my friends he’s welcome to stay.”

Rodger gave me a weird look. “Meghan, it’s fine, you’re being odd. The boys have been friends their whole lives. I’m not shocked in the slightest. In fact, I think it’s great that they were all here for their future alpha.”

Rodger was beaming with pride over the respect they were giving Ben. But to me, it seemed like they were more protecting him than anything.

Conner tossed his hands in the air. “Awesome, slumber party. I’ll have the girls bring movies and snacks.”

Landyn and Ben both had smirks on their faces. If I could slap that boy right now, I would. Acting like a fricken child.

Ben nodded in agreement. “Works for me.”

s**t that can’t happen. “Ben, sweetie, don’t you think you should get rest tonight. You just got attacked by rogues and were barely healing. I think it’s best that your little friends just head back to their rooms for tonight.”

Ben gave me a disgusted look. “I’m fine, mom.”

s**t, now what do I do. He was supposed to have been practically dead. Nathan made it clear it was either Ben or my four year old daughter that I’ve kept hidden. I thought she was my fated mate child, but the older she got, the more she looked like Rodger.

Unlike Rodger, Nathan wasn’t an i***t. He figured it out pretty quickly. He’s never used her against me before now. Always gave me daily updates, and so did the nanny. This was the longest I’ve gone without seeing her and my other son.

He saw Ben as a threat now that he was close with Lily again. He was an alphas child, and Nathan was nothing but an omega whose anger turned to power and made him the rogue king.

I just needed to slip this poison in his IV, and he would have never woken up again. I wasn’t sure what to do now that he was healing. But how the hell could I do that with all these hooligans in here. I don’t think poisoning him would go undetected now. I’m guessing how everyone was looking at me. I would be the first suspect, and I couldn’t risk that.

Landyn was seething with anger. I actually felt slightly startled, like maybe I should be afraid. He got all the traits the first born should have. Height, strength, and endurance. He was clearly more of a threat than Ben, but he didn’t see that way.

Conner went from his layed back position to sitting on the edge of the couch. Even Ben seemed to be sitting up straighter.

Rodger looked from the boys to me and back forth again. Finally, picking up on that something was going on between us.

Landyn inched closer, his eyes shifting back and forth to black. Showing that he was fighting control with his wolf.

I involuntary gulped. It’s like he knew what I was thinking and what i was planning. But how could he. I only talked about it in my office with the door shut.

I took another step back. Rodger was looking at me angry now. He linked me. “What did you do now?”

I gave him a dirty look. Like somehow, all of this was my fault. If it wasn’t for him, Ben wouldn’t ever have broken up with Lily, and we wouldn’t be in this mess. Truthfully, they still probably would be together. f*****g i***t.

Landyn took another step forward, and I took another one back. I honestly thought about taking off, but then that would basically confirm that I was guilty of something and I couldn’t risk that.

Before things got any further, Amber barged in with Brody. I’ve never been more relieved to see the little red headed b***h in my life.

“Amber, what are you doing back here. I thought you left for the night?”

“No, I just wanted to be there for Lily when she saw all the baby stuff Myles surprised her with.”

I noticed Landyn took a few steps back and Conner and relaxed back slightly on the couch.

Rodger perked up. “Wait, baby stuff?”

Amber nodded. “Lily and Myles are pregnant. You didn’t know?”

“No, I guess I didn’t. “

“Well, Luna Meghan knew, so I just assumed you did as well.”

“Did she now? It seems Luna forgot to mention it.”

I take it back that red headed b***h can take back off again.

Rodger was glaring at me and then looked back to Ben, and his seemed to relax some.

“Well, this is kind of exciting having a royal pup born here and with our very own gamma. The royals will be so appreciative of us if and when Lily decides to go to the palace.”

Stupid bastard. He was all set in stone to do whatever it took to make sure Lily and Ben end up together and now he’s suddenly okay with Myles and Lily having a baby here just because it would be of royal b***d.

Rodger put his hand on Bens shoulder. “Just think what that could do for the pack, Ben.”

“Dad, there happy that’s all that matters.”

He couldn’t honestly think that could he? She was his fated mate for crying out loud, and now she’s pregnant and marked by one of his best friends. He’s so full of shit.”

Maybe I can have the rogues kill all of them and start over and live full time with my fated mate. Taking them all out may be a little difficult. Especially this red headed b***h and the fricken orge over there. I would have to get the witch Esme involved again. Maybe she can take this whole little group of Ben’s all out in one move.”

Landyn moved a step forward again. What the hell is his problem? I haven’t said anything out loud for a few minutes now.

Amber came up and stood next to me. “Lily’s cake is on its way here, and everyone else won’t be too long after that. I’m sure you would love to stay since you’re so keen on celebrating Lily’s birthday this year, right?” Her voice was laced with venom. I looked up at her, and she raised an eyebrow at me. Her facial expression matched her voice.

I looked around the room, and everyone else was making a similar expression.

f**k. They all know something. But what could it be.

I turned to walk out and see Louise walking in with a cake. “What the hell are you doing here?”

Amber sighed. “She was invited.” She went up and hugged Louise. What in the actual f**k is going on?

Conner yelled over my shoulder. “Oh hey, baby, perfect timing.”

This has to be some twisted joke. Louise and Conner are together now?

They now have another alpha in their little group. Sure, a female alpha, but still an alpha.

I looked back around at everyone and just walked out. I heard footsteps coming up behind me, and I turned around quickly. “What, Rodger?”

“You wanna tell me what the hell that was about? Your own son looks at you with complete hate, and Landyn looked like he was holding back from killing you.”

“Why don’t you let me worry about that, and you start worrying about your other son.”

He scrunched his eyes brows and shook his head. “What are you talking about now, Meghan?”

“You mean to tell me you’ve never noticed the uncanny resemblance between you and Landyn? Seriously, Rodger, he looks more like you than Ben does, and you’re telling me you never noticed?”

I watched his eyes bulged out. Good, that will keep him off my case for a bit. Least till I could figure out what everyone else knows.

They surely couldn’t know about the rogue attack we had planned. I mean, if they did, they would most certainly take Lily to the palace, right? As far as I know, Lily hasn’t even reached out to her grandparents. Which I guess is kind of odd.

I sat in my office debating whether or not i should call Nathan with how everyone is acting. I knew he would be calling me shortly anyway to see if I dealt with Ben.

I didn’t want to poison him. I really didnt. The rogues were supposed to do enough damage after the potion that he wouldn’t heal properly, and I was just supposed to slip the poison in his iv, and no one would suspect a thing. But I couldn’t let him keep my daughter away from me. I never thought he would do something so monstrous to me. He never has before.

Rogue King POV

I sat by phone waiting for Meghan to call that the deed was done. I hated threatening her with Maddy, but she gave me no other choice.

She led me to believe that Maddy was mine and that her and Rodger were no longer intement . I was a fool to think that. I’d stayed faithful to her all these years. I knew she couldn’t. she least needed to provide and heir with Rodger to keep up the act. But she reassured me that it was it , and it stopped shortly after.

She even told me he hadn’t been faithful in years, so he wouldn’t suspect anything about her not wanting to have s*x with him.

She spent a lot of time with me. We even had a witch hide three pregnancies from that i***t and he never once got suspicious.

My phone started to ring. Finally. “Yes?”

“It’s me, Meghan.”

“Well, is it done?”

“Not yet. Somehow, he healed and was awake and functioning like he hadn’t just been attacked by multiple rogues. I’m not sure if he knows they tried to use a potion on him. But it clearly didn’t work.”

“Okay, why didn’t you just use the posion?”

“How? I couldn’t exactly put it in his IV now. He’s fully awake and aware. Plus, he’s had all of his friends in and out of there. He’s never been alone.”

“Do you think there on to you?”

“I don’t see how. I’ve never had a conversation outside of this room or even spoken to anyone about most of this. The girl that was helping me got shipped off . So I know she didn’t even get a chance to say anything.”

“Sweetie, if you just let me take her when I could of we wouldn’t be in this mess. I know you were set on Ben and Lily being together and him having the power. But you never thought about how that would help me and your other children. Sure, Ben would be king, but do you honestly think he would have been accepting of me as a rogue and as your mate?”

She got quiet for a moment. “I just knew the people wouldn’t accept a rogue as the king even with Lily as there queen. I thought this was easier. I thought that at least this way, none of my kids would be in danger. They wouldn’t let any of you live. Packs would attack, and you know it. I couldn’t risk losing you, and now I’ve lost more than I’ve ever imagined.”

Well f**k, now I feel like an a*s. I didn’t think about what this would do to my mate. Even if one of my boys had marked Lily and they were gifted a power. it wouldn’t stop other packs and alphas from taking them down just because they were a rogue. We wouldn’t stand a chance.

“Okay, what do you suggest we do?”

“I think we should get Esme involved again. I bet she could give Lily a love potion to make her fall in love with our son Andrew and make her think the pup is his. I also think she needs to make more potions to cover up his rogue scent until he’s fully accepted at the palace and becomes king and part of their pack. We can make everyone else forget she was ever in love with Myles and Ben, for that matter. “

“Meghan, this is actually not a bad idea. We can use the night of the party as a distraction. In the end, I want us all together at the palace as a family. If you can promise that, then I’ll leave Ben alone, but he needs to stay at the pack and take over for Rodger. But you must ask Esme to make him a potion to forget your his mom.”

I heard her gulp on the other line. “Do you think she could even do all of that in two weeks?”

“I’ll make sure that she does. She knows what’s at stake.”

“Okay, but promise me that Ben stays unharmed.”

“I promise Meghan. This is an even better plan. It actually makes more sense .

I could tell she was beaming through the phone.

The rogues still will attack. We need enough distractions to easily slip everyone these potions.”

“I understand.”

“I knew you would.”

“Please give Maddy a k**s for me.”

“I will, sweetie, see you soon. and Meghan?”

“Yeah?”

“I plan on killing Rodger.”

“I figured.”

I hated that we haven’t actually been able to be together like a real family. That opportunity was taken from me.

We both knew there was a hit taken out on me. Her father would never stop trying to have me murdered right along with Rodger. He had his eyes set on Meghan, and he would have killed anyone that got in the way.

I tried to bring it up to the werewolf king, but he wouldn’t hear me out. Just kept saying there wasn’t enough proof, and he had a hard time believing that one of his closest friends would break the werewolf law and stop two fated mates from being with each other. That is punishable by death to stop to fated mates from being together if that’s what they truly wanted.

It was then I knew I had to make the royals pay. I faked my death and took all the anger and frustration, and made something of myself with the other rogues. We became our own pack, and I became there king.

I kidnapped the princes’ fated mate as revenge. He was the future, and any pups they had would continue the royal line. I wanted to make them pay.

When a witch told me she was pregnant and with a girl. I didn’t understand what the big deal was. I was going to kill her regardless of whether she was pregnant or not.

When the witch explained the significance of what a girl wolf born in th royal bloodline, I came up with a completely different plan.

Meghan and I had already had our eldest son, and she had another son with Rodger that she was spending a lot more time with. I was feeling bitter and jealous, and I wanted more for my son.

I decided to keep Raya alive and help raise her daughter till she was old enough to mark and mate my son. He deserved the power.

Before we could move into hiding, Charles and his warriors attack us, taking half my men down. They got away with taking Raya back.

Once I regrouped and got my numbers back up, we started to attack the surrounding packs, trying to weaken their boarders.

I’ve been set on having that girl for one of my boys, and i wasn’t going to stop till I got her.

My men ended up cornering Charles, and he wasn’t giving up his girls. They captured him, and I’ve held him captive all these years. I knew Raya and Lily wouldn’t be able to resist saving him. Especially when Lily got old enough to understand her dad would continue to be tortured unless she came with me. I honestly thought it was the perfect plan.

But Lily never came just Raya, and Meghans brother, who I was not expecting to see. My men claimed to have killed them, and even then, i thought Lily would come for revenge, but once again, she never did.

When Meghan told me Lily was marked and pregnant last night I thought the whole plan was ruined and when she said Ben has been protective of her and harsh towards his own mother I knew he must of known something and that he was going to be a problem.

I called Meghan back and told her the plan I had a motion. She was behind pissed I was planning on killing Ben. But one I threatened that she would never see Maddy again. She got on board.

Ever since I found out she was Rodgers, I’ve been having a difficult time playing the father role with her. At least she’s useful to me now, and I have something to use against Meghan and her lies and bullshit.

Im just proud Meghan came up with a better plan that makes everyone happy, and she can keep her precious Ben alive.
