First Love Of The Alpha -
Chapter 57
Lily’s POV
I left Landyn to head back to my room. I was already gone awhile, and Myles said Maureen was starting to ask questions why I was gone so long.
I felt awful for leaving him like that. I knew this was a struggle for him. But i knew he believed in the moon goddess more than anyone I knew.
As soon as i open the door, Myles is pulling me into a tight hug. “How did it go?”
“How do you think he handled it? He’s torn. Luckily, he only spent three days with her. I do think it could have turned into something more. We will have to see how this plays out.”
I didn’t mention what Landyn asked me to keep a secret. It was hard on me not to tell him, but I didn’t want to break Landyns trust, and I understood this wasn’t something that could be out right now.
Myles kissed the side of my head. “I’m sorry, sweetie. He will be okay. “
“I know, my heart just hurts for him.”
I look over to see Louise, Amber, and Maureen sitting together on our couch. It seems they’ve been having a good time. They were laughing.
I walked over and sat down next to Maureen. “What’s so funny?”
Maureen smiled and shook her head. “Oh, they were just giving me the juicy details about how awful Ben was towards you and Louise.”
s**t. “Oh, you guys were talking about Ben?”
She nodded. “Oh yeah! I can’t believe he did that to the both of you, and that fact you’re even still talking to him, let alone being friends. Just amazes me. I dont know if i would have been able to get past all of that.”
I started to panic. Amber saw my reaction and looked at me questionly. “Bens, not a bad guy. He’s just been going through a rough time. We’re passed all of that now…. He loves with all his heart and would do anything to make someone he cares about happy. Including risking his own happiness to bring them even just an ounce of joy. He’s a hopeless romantic, just tends to hide the side of himself, including being senstive. “
Amber tilted her head, trying to figure out why I was trying to talk Ben up to Maureen.
Maureen shrugged her shoulders. “Seems to me that he’s a little out there.”
I was getting flustered now. “He’s not!” I said it a little harsher than I should have. Especially for just meeting my sister.
I calmed myself down. “He wouldn’t have done or acted this way if it wasn’t for his parents.”
Maureen scrunched her eyebrows. “He still made those choices.”
Damn it, she had a point. “Well, he’s made amends and apologizes, and he hasn’t acted like that since he took things too far. He’s a good guy. Just had a lot of obstacles and baggage.”
I was basically pouting at this point.
Maureens eyes got big and turned her head. “Okay, I’ll take your word on it.”
Louise and Amber kept looking at each other and then at me. Amber linked me. “Do I even wanna know why you’re trying to sell Ben like you would a used car to Maureen?”
I couldn’t look Amber in the eye. When I finally looked over at her, her eyebrows were raised, and her eyes looked wider than I’ve ever seen them. I think she figured it out. s**t. Landyn is going to kill me.
She immediately linked me. “Remember, I know you better than anyone. That’s how i know one out of two things is happening right now. One, you’re trying to hook up Maureen and Ben, which would be weird because I know you know about Maureen and Landyns kissy time or two, Maureen is Bens second chance mate, and by your reaction I’m guessing it’s option two.”
Yup, she figured it out. I just linked back, ” I can’t say.”
I just didn’t want either one of them to reject each other. I decided to change the subject before Amber pressed more about this.
“Maureen, are you sure you’re going to be okay up here while we’re down at the party? We’re supposed to be linked at the first sign of a rogue. Brodys is going to be out with the warriors, so we least have one trusted member out there.”
“I promise, I’ll be fine. Myles ran me through everything. Me, Amber, and Louise are not to leave your side. We all agreed that Luna Meghan is going to come straight for you. As soon as the first sighting of one, Louise and Amber are going to bring you back up here to me and wait out Luna Meghan.”
I was kind of shocked by this. Myles never told me I was being help captive upstairs while everyone else was going to be fighting to defend me. “This is the first I’m hearing about this.”
I directed my glare at Myles. “Lily, before you overreact, we all decided this was a good plan. It wasn’t just me. Even though it’s a great idea to keep the pups safe.”
“Okay, well, why wasn’t I part of this little plan of yours?”
“You fell asleep on my arm while eating Cheetos while we were all talking.”
Damn it, there was a really good chance that did happen. I’m falling asleep all the time right now.
“Well, I least would have liked to be told.”
Myles rubbed the back of his neck. “We weren’t sure how you would react. You’ve been very against everyone protecting you and risking their lives. But what you dont understand is we all still would do it even if you weren’t a royal. We care and love you, Lily. We all know you would do the same for us. Am i wrong?”
“Okay, okay, you’re right. I just don’t want to lose any of you.”
“I know, but it is that time for you ladies to start getting ready. I’m going to step out to hang with the guys and give you guys the room.”
He came over and gave me a quick k**s . I hated how quickly today was flying by. If I could just skip over the messy bits, I would.
We all took turns showering and got in robes while we were waiting for a hairdresser to come in.
The last time we got ready was in Myles’ parents’ room. But Kevin and Sylvia were already out with the palace warriors having open communication with Brody, so it would be easier to work together. Kevin acted like he was out on the pack business, but really him and Sylvia were helping plan a strategy with my grandfather and mother.
That was the one thing I looked forward to all of this ending. To be safe and see my mom after all this time, but most of all, meeting my dad and grandparents.
We all decided that updos were the way to go tonight. Having our hair up and out of our faces seemed like a more rational choice.
Amber decided on a sleek pony tale. She said it would go best with her outfit. She wanted to look like the kick a*s she would be tonight. Louise went with a whimsy bun, and I decided to do a fish tale braid that went down the side.
Amber went to get dressed first. She came out in a high neck black dress. It flowed to the floor but had two slits up the side so she could easily move. she did her makeup in a smokey look and a bold red l*p. She looked very intimidating. She pulled up the slit of her dress to show us her daggers that were attached to her thigh with holders.
Louise whistled. “You look like a sexy assassin, and I kind of want one of those now. Those rogues better watch out for you.”
Amber gave us all an evil grin. “More like Luna Meghan better watch out.”
I shook my head at her. She had her heart set on killing the b***h. Her words.
Louise went to get ready next. She had picked out a marroon colored jumper. It had off the shoulder straps and flared pant legs. It was very flattering on her. She kept her makeup nautual, including a nude l*p.
I grumbled, realizing I was the only one left to get ready. “Alright, who’s volunteering to help me get in this bad boy.”
Myles walked in on cue. “I got you, baby.” He winked at me.
As soon as we got into the bathroom, I dropped my robe just to give him a little show. “Sweetie, don’t tease me right now.” He kissed my marking spot.
“I can’t wait for tonight to be over with. I miss you. You’ve been holding out on me for way too long.”
He squatted down to help me step into my dress. As he was bringing the dress up, I felt his out breath on my thigh. Causing goose bumps all throughout my body.
He pressed his lips softly down on my thigh, lightly kissing his way up as he pulled the dress up. The anticipation was killing me. I felt him place a firm k**s on my core through my panties. I swear I stopped breathing for a moment.
He pulled away too soon. My body was craving for his touch. My hormones were driving me wild, and I hated that he was resisting me.
I pushed my arms through the sleeves as he was finishing pulling it up. I turned my back towards him. He ran the back of his hand down my bare back towards my zipper. I felt him hesitate to pull it up.
It made me feel so much better knowing he was struggling, too.
He pecked my neck again. “You look beautiful, baby. You look like a princess. I love how it shows off our pups.”
I rolled my eyes at him. I hated being called a princess.
My dress was a lavendar floor lengh dress. It fit snug and flared down at my knees. It has an illusion neckline. I needed the extra support here lately. My breasts have gotten bigger since pregnancy, and I didn’t think that would be even possible.
I wanted something that would be a little looser at the legs, but everything I picked out didn’t look right on me between my breasts and being very pregnant with twins. My options were pretty limited. The only other dress that fit was the most unflattering shade of orange, and I refused it to wear it.
Myles looked into my eyes through the mirror. “You ready for this?”
“No, not at all, but I don’t think we have another option. I guess let’s just end this.
Landyn POV
After Lily left, I basically spent the time pacing my room till Myles basically barged in. I swear the Coopers don’t know how to knock on doors properly. Especially when they get comfortable with them.
He gave me a side smirk, and I knew he was going to ask a question he already knew the answer to. “How are you holding up?”
“Did Lily tell you? I asked her not to say anything.”
“What did you ask my mate to keep from me? I came here to check on you over Lily suspicions of Ben and Maureen based on his scent. If she wasn’t supposed to tell me that you had feelings for Maureen, well, I hate to tell you I already figured it out almost immediately. “
s**t, I should have trusted Lily. Now I’m afraid I’ll have to tell him about Ben and I. “No, that was it.”
“Really, because it feels like there’s more going on than what I’m being told. Lily is panicking and trying to convince Maureen that Ben isn’t this awful guy. It’s not like her to try to get involved like this unless she’s deeply considered for someone she cares about, and if it was you that she was worried about than she would be talking you up instead.”
I loved and hated how well Myles knew his mate. I guess perks of being friends with her before getting into a relationship.
“Myles, it’s not that simple. There are some things that’s not my place to say.”
“But you told Lily?”
“I needed her help, I needed to make the right decision and not base it off my own selfish desires. I needed to know that what I was feeling was okay and normal.”
Myles took a seat on one of my chairs. He leaned forward, putting his elbows on his knees, and clapsed his hands together. “Do you want my opinion and advice? It may not be the same as Lily’s. Mostly because I have no idea what she’s said.”
I nodded. “It can’t hurt at this point.”
“Fight for her. If you think it’s the real deal, then fight. I didn’t wait for my fated mate, and honestly, it wouldn’t have mattered . Lily was it for me. Sure I was pissed off at Ben at the time me and Lily started things, but it didn’t make it any easier to know I was falling for one best friends ex girlfriends and not just any girlfriend, it was our future alphas first love. I fought for her anyway, and I’ll never regret that.”
“You had the time to build up a relationship with Lily. You knew you loved her long before you guys got together. I feel my situation is so much different. We’ve known each other for three days.”
“Maybe. This may make me a bad friend for saying this, but I’ve always had a thing for Lily. When Ben and her got together, I blocked my feelings out. She was officially off limits. But even back then, I knew she was the one.”
“If you really think there’s something there besides the guardian pull, tell her, let her decide what she wants to do. Maybe Ben wouldn’t come between you guys if he knew it’s the real deal for you guys. Do you think you might love her?”
I sat there thinking about his question. I was already pacing my room, asking myself the same question before he came in.
“I’m not sure if I do. I think I’m more upset about what it could be, what it could turn into rather than accepting what it actually is right now. We have this built-up attraction, and when we kissed, it was nothing like I’ve ever felt before. But she’s lost a beloved once I can’t take another one away from her or from Ben. They need to figure it out if they want to be together. I can’t take that choice from them. I need to tell Maureen that to. Especially since I’m not even sure if I love her. That’s not fair to either one of them. It’s just hard to admit. “
“What if ahe decides that your it for her Landyn, then what?”
“I’m not sure if she even knows how she feels about me. It’s probably even the same reasons as me.”
He nodded again. “Are you going to tell her about Ben?”
” Honestly, I think I’m going to let them find each other and let it play out. I just might have to avoid Maureen for a few hours. I hope she won’t end up hating me.”
“Landyn, I do have one more question for you… Is Lily worried about Ben? Is there a reason to be worried about Ben?”
I didn’t know what to say, so I just nodded.
Myles touched the binge of his nose. ” and Lily, she thinks if Maureen and Ben find and accept each other , it might help Ben?”
I just nodded again.
“You don’t have to tell me what. But I kind figured that’s what was going on.”
“You know your girl well.”
“I do and speaking of that. I probably should go get my tux on and meet her and the girls in our room. I’ll see you downstairs, right? Otherwise, you know Lily will come searching for your a*s and Amber will be on her heels.”
“Yes, I’ll be down there.”
“I’m going to ask one more time. Are you going to hold up, okay?”
“I’ll be fine.” Sounding more confident than I did before.
