Lily’s POV

As soon as I heard Doctor Mel say she made a mistake, I felt my heart was going to rip out of my chest.

Doctor Mel finally spoke again after a moment. “I hope you two won’t be too upset with me, but It’s another boy.”

She held him up for us to see. He was absolutely perfect. To very perfect boys.

I honestly felt a sense of relief that we wouldn’t constantly have to worry about our daughter.

Kelsey placed our other boy in Myles’s arms, and he brought him close to my face, so he was touching me. “How are you feeling about this?”

“I would be happy no matter what. I just wanted two healthy pups, and I got that. I’m not going to lie, but I am relieved about them being boy’s. Least now we don’t have to live with the constant worry of someone taking or using her.”

“I feel the same. I’m not saying i wouldn’t want a girl one day. But right now, I just got you safe, and I would like to keep the feeling even if it’s just for a while.”

He kissed me tenderly. I couldn’t help but blush.

After a while of us both staring and admiring our pups, Doctor Mel spoke softly. “If the four of you are ready, we can head back into a more comfortable room to rest and have visitors. Lily, I would really like to keep you two nights just to make sure you’re okay.”

Myles spoke before I could even get the chance to open my mouth. “Whatever you recommend, doc.”

I rolled my eyes at him, already being so overprotective.

Doctor Mel and Kelsey wheeled me out, and I half expected everyone to be waiting on the other side for us.

I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t see anyone. Myles saw my reaction. “There all waiting in the waiting room for whenever you’re ready, baby.”

“I’m excited for everyone to see the pups, but I could really lay down for a bit. Plus, I would like to feed the boys before everyone comes huddling in.”

“Sounds like a plan. I’ll let everyone know.”

We got all settled into our room. I was holding both boys in my arms when I realized we only had one boy named picked out, and we didn’t even have a middle yet.

It surprisingly wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. It came pretty easy. We decided on Aiden Michael and Adam Benjamin. After I learned that the white wolf who saved me was my grandfather, I knew it was a perfect fit, and after Ben, he risked his life for me. I’ll forever be grateful for him.

Myles wasn’t even weird about me naming our baby after my ex. I think we both agreed it was the best way to honor him even if he was in a coma. It was still far more than I ever wanted him to do for me. I just prayed to the moon goddess that Maureen is wrong and he will wake up. I think they both need each other.

I took a small nap and nursed both boys. The morning sun started to creep through the window. I wasn’t sure if anyone is even awake or if they all went to bed after the night we all had.

Myles looked at me like he knew what I was thinking once again. I swear sometimes he acts like Landyn. “There all in the waiting room. I can’t say if they are awake, but they never went to their rooms.”

“Myles, can you go see if my grandpa is awake. I think I should talk to him first.”

He kissed my forehead and then our pups and headed out. He came back a few minutes later.

Myles came right in while my grandpa peaked around the door, looking slightly uncomfortable.

“It’s okay, come on in. I promise I’m as decent as I can be all things considering.

“It’s been a long time, Lily. I know you don’t remember me, but I’ve been hoping for this day for a really long time.”

“I know I didn’t know about you till recently, but I’m really looking forward to getting to know you, grandma, and dad. Have you heard anything from them?”

“Your grandma reached out a bit ago. Your mom and dad are in the hospital at the palace. He seems to be doing good. He just hasn’t woken back up since they brought him in. The doctor is guessing it’s just from exhaustion and everything he’s been through. Your mom won’t leave his side. I told your grandma to let her know that you and the pups are okay. She seems to be resting now that she knows that. She’s been roaming the palace at night, not sleeping at all since she’s been with us. She’s been worried and feeling guilty. All of this has been taking a toll on everyone.”

“Well, I’m glad they’re okay.” I felt really uncomfortable talking about mom. We had so much to talk about and air to clear. I just don’t even know where we would even start. It has been months. I know I miss her like crazy. Things are just awkward right now, and we have a lot to work through.

He reached for my hand. “I’m glad all of you are okay.”

He looked down at the pups. “Do you want to hold them?”

He seemed to beam when I asked. “Is that okay? You wouldn’t mind?”

“Of course not there, your great grandchildren. This little guy in green is Adam Benjamin.” I placed him slowly in one of his arms.”

“Lily, he’s perfect.”

“And this little guy in blue is Aiden Michael.” I placed him in his other arm.

He had tears in his eyes. I never thought I would see a man with aura like his shedd any sort of tears, but there he was doing it like it was a normal thing. It made him look softer and less intimidating and scary.

“Thank you for saving me out there. Thank you for coming here to help us when you could have helped rescue my father, your son. It means the world to me that you did that, that you’re here. “

“I knew I couldn’t be in two places. After I understood all the facts. I knew my son would get out safely. You were in far more danger, and your pups were in danger. I needed to protect you and protect them. I didn’t do enough before. Especially when I heard one was a girl. I take it this was a misap?”

“Yeah, the ultrasound was read wrong. Myles and I are perfectly fine with two healthy baby boys…. You did do enough. From what was explained to me, my mom and dad were just trying to protect you and pack members. I’m not sure what I would have done if I were in their shoes. “

The more I sat looking at my pups, the more I understood my mother and father and their choices. I literally would do anything to keep them safe. Even if it meant hiding or becoming a prisoner.

“You didn’t have to name your pup after me, but I am completely honored. Thank you for this.”

I heard a knock at the door, and Maureen and Amber had both their heads peaking in not being very subtle. Amber gave me an anxious grin. “Can the anties come meet the pups?”

“Come on in aunties.”

I couldn’t tell Maureen was nervous, especially since Amber gave away that they were both the aunts.

Amber walked up to my grandpa, who had the pups. “Do you mind if I take one, sir? Sorry I didn’t properly introduce myself before. I’m Amber, Myles sister.”

“It’s not a problem, here take this little guy this one is Aiden Michael. “

Amber squealed. “Awe, I love his little name.”

Maureen rubbed Aidens’ little head in Amber’s arms.

My grandpa looked at Maureen. “Do you want this little one?

Maureen looked at him nervously.”Umm, sure, I would love to. What’s her name?”

Myles and I looked at each other, and then I smiled at them both. “Adam Benjamin. “

Maureen and Amber looked at each other, confused and then at Myles and I. “Both boys?”

I nodded. Amber got teary-eyed. “The name is perfect. He would love it.”

My grandpa was staring at Maureen intensely. “So you said you were an aunt of the boys. Are you Myles sister as well?”

Maureen was frozen in place, so I spoke for her. “No, she’s not Myles’s witch sister.”

He looked at me even more confused. He still wasn’t putting the pieces together.

“She’s my sister grandpa.”

He looked angry. “You’re mom never mentioned that she had another kid.”

“She’s my older sister Grandpa, and my mom doesn’t know about her yet.”

He sat down slowly in the chair against the window. “I don’t know how I didn’t put the pieces together till now. You are a spitting image of your mother.”

Maureen had tears in her eyes. “You knew my mom? “

“My son likes to think that I dont. The two of them really weren’t that sneaky. They tried to play it off like they were just friends, but his mother and i knew better. He loved your mother, Maureen. He never mentioned that he got her pregnant.”

“She never told him. I actually didn’t know till recently. Apparently, Lily and I having a guardian together was the first clue.”

“I heard that she passed away. I was really sorry to hear that. She was always so kind.”

“Thank you than means a lot.”

“So which one is your guardian? I know a little about them.”

“It’s Landyn, I’m pretty sure you met him already.”

“Wow, yeah, I did. I’m surprised he’s so young. Usually, they are a little older and a warrior. They usually don’t have a rank title. Are you sure he would be willing to leave his rank and move to the palace?”

“Grandpa, I wasn’t going to talk about this now, especially since I haven’t talked to mom or my dad about this. I’m not sure if I even want to come to the palace. I have the family that I created here. My life is here. I can’t imagine leaving all of them. I was kind of hoping Mom and dad would want to run the palace if dad seemed up for it. They were always supposed to be king and queen.”

He didn’t have time to respond when Kevin and Sylvia came in. Sylvia scooped me up in a hug. “I’m so glad you’re okay, sweetie. Myles filled me in. We tried to keep the pack from being so suspicious of the lack of rank members fighting. I would have come sooner, but Grandpa Kevin over here wouldn’t let me. I’m so proud of all of you. She rubbed her hand in my hair. Now, can I see these beautiful grandpups of mine?”

I pointed over to Amber, and she instantly stood with pure joy and love in her eyes. “She lightly took the baby out of Amber’s arms. “Oh my gosh. Which one is this?”

“Aiden Michael Cooper.”

“He is just the most perfect little boy.”

My grandpa just continued to sit in the chair quietly, just watching all of us. I knew there were way too many people in here now to discuss anything further.

I watched gamma Kevin go up and shake his hand. Sylvia came over and placed Aiden in his arms and sat in the chair next to my grandpa, just beaming over Aiden.

Maureen handed Adam to Sylvia. “So what name did you decide on for her?”

Myles decided to share it this time. “Adam Benjamin Cooper. “

Sylvia looked confused. “But that’s a boys name…… Oh my goodness, you had two boys?”

We both nodded at the same time. Sylvia came up and kissed me on the cheek. “You did wonderful, sweetie. Grammys, perfect sweet little boys.”

Before I knew it, the room was completely filled up. Everyone seemed to relax, knowing we had two boys. They all took turns holding them. I could already tell the pups were going to be so spoiled.

I thought it was hilarious that Conner didn’t want to give up Adam. He was enjoying the snuggles way more than I would have expected.

I watched Landyn go take an empty seat next to my grandpa. “Sir, if you get any extra time while you here, do you think you could help explain me things about being a guardian. I have a few questions myself about it.”

“We can go take a walk now if you’d like.”

Landyns POV

I worked up the courage to sit next to King Michael. I wasn’t sure if I would get another opportunity to ask him about guardians.

Lily kind of pushed me in his direction. She linked me, saying she mentioned not going to the palace, and he didn’t have time to react before the gammas came in.

He was just sitting in the corner, clearly overthinking everything. He was observing us all closely and watching how everyone interacted with Lily.

Lily linked me, saying now would be a good time to ask him because she could tell he needed to get out of the room but wasn’t about to ask for air or to be away from her.

Once he agreed to talk to me, we headed towards the front of the pack house. The omegas and the warriors were still cleaning up all the dead bodies in the back, and i thought if we walked around the front, it wouldn’t be so morbid.

“So Landyn, what do you want to know?”

“Sir, I’m not sure if you know this, but I’m also Alpha Rodgers’s son, and I actually just signed the paperwork of becoming the next Alpha of this pack. Is it possible for me to be a guardian and an Alpha?”

“I’m not sure Lily really needs a guardian now that she’s mated, and Maureen,I don’t think we have to worry about her either. She doesn’t have the violet eyes. She looks more like her mother, and from what I could tell, she doesn’t carry the werewolf gene. Landyn, if you want to become Alpha, I think that would be fine. I think if one the girls has a daughter is when you will be needed again. I think that’s why the moon goddess chose someone so young. The guardians are usually much older. “

“I promised Ben I would do this for him.”

“I understand, and you seem like a good man. I know Lily adores you. She wants to stay here, you know?”

“I know, sir.”

“Will you be able to protect her. Protect both of them? I don’t see Maureen leaving Lily.”

“Always. I love them both deeply, sir.”

“I see that. I didn’t realize how many people Lily had here. I can’t ask her to leave the only life she’s ever known. She’s seems like she would be completely happy as the gamma female.”

“Actually, sir, if Myles is staying, I was going to ask him to be my beta so she would be the beta female.”

“Do you that will be enough for her?”

“Sir Lily would be happy being mated to a warrior, hell even an omega. As long as she’s happy and they’re madly in love, she doesn’t care about the title. She never has.”

He gave a small smile. “I’m glad she’s like that. There are too many females out there wanting the title and not for actual love. I’m glad to hear that Raya raised her right.”

“Lily is definitely one of a kind. She has one of the kindest and purest hearts.”

“I see that and the gammas, there good people? Lily seems comfortable with them.”

“Yes, very good. Lily’s really close with them.”

“Okay then. I guess all that’s left is to talk to Lily and then her parents.”
