Hiding With Her Twin Babies
Chapter 17

Dante takes Jennie and holds her in his arms. She is shaking like a leaf. Not because she is scared or anything, but because she is so angry. Not only at Jackson but at Alexa as well. She saw how Alexa was looking at Dante, which made her even more furious for some reason. So she and Dante had their moments, but she knows she is not Dante’s type, and he will never love her. He once was in love with Alexa, and Jennie is sure he will fall for her again. Alexa is younger and more beautiful than she can ever be. Jennie does not realise that the years have treated Jennie better, and her innocence draws men to her. Yes, some men will turn their heads as Alexa walks past them, only because she dresses cheap and shows too much skin. Jennie is a quiet beauty. Men will stare at her for hours without getting tired of looking at her as a timeless beauty. Jennie has class and style and looks like the film stars of old. Dante does not let go of Jennie as they walk to the car. They are not getting into the SUV where Alexa is already waiting on the passenger side. Instead, he takes Jennie to his other car. A two-seater that one of his men drove there for him. He knew Alexa wanted to be around him all the time, and he will not give her that opportunity.

“Calm down, sweetie. It is over now, and Jackson will never come near Jack again,” Dante says. He remembers not to call her sweetheart again as he does not want Jennie to call him Poo bear again.

“Thank you for all your help today. How did you manage to get little Jack’s papers?” Jennie asks.

“I have friends everywhere,” Dante says.

“Well, it is good to have someone like you around then,” Jennie laughs after a while. She is relaxed now.

“Well, two things I much remember about you. One to never call you sweetheart, and two never open a door when you knock and are angry at me,” Dante says with a smile.

“I told you I can look after myself,” Jennie says.

“I know, but I like looking after you and the twins and little Jack now,” Dante says.

“When are you going back to LA?” Jennie asks.

“When the woman I love comes with me,” Dante answers.

“She must be exceptional if you do not want to leave her behind,” Jennie says, feeling a bit jealous but not showing it.

“She is, but she does not want to give me a chance to tell her, or every time I try to tell her, something happens,” Dante says.

“I am no expert on love, so I can not give you any advice,” Jennie laughs. Dante looks at her. Does she not realise he is talking about her? Can this woman be so clueless about his feelings for her?

“Red robot!” Jennie warns Dante, and Dante kicks in the breaks.

“Thanks for the warning. I was thinking of other things,” Dante says.

“Like what?” Jennie asks him.

“Your body and how soft you felt in my arms. Jennie, I …” Dante starts and his phone rings. It is his mother, and he answers the phone. He tells her everything that happened, and Jen is relieved they got to Jackson as she was afraid for Jennie and her grandchildren’s lives with a man like Jackson on the loose. When his mother ends the call, they are home, and Jennie wants to go and fetch the kids. Dante is getting frustrated as every time he wants to tell Jennie how he feels, something happens. Dante stops at his house so they can change cars. It was already dark outside when they got to the farm, and on the way, they did not have time to talk as Jennie was on the phone most of the time with one of her customers.

“Let’s sleep over tonight. Angelica or Mabel will have some clothes for you to wear,” Dante says

“Sounds like a plan. It is dark outside, and I do not feel like taking the kids outside this late. Besides your parents have enough clothes for them here. I think more than I have at home,” Jennie says with a smile.

Alexa sees Dante’s car in his driveway, and she does not know where Jennie and the children went. It is the same car he used this afternoon at Jackson’s place, so Dante must be home. Alexa gets ready. She takes out her best lingerie and puts a coat on as she sneaks out of the bachelor flat to Dante’s home. She rings the bell, and the butler answers.

“The young master is expecting me. Where is his room?” Alexa says. The butler does not look surprised at all. In his eyes, Enzo is the young master, and everyone knows Enzo is a playboy.

“Upstairs, the second door to your right,” The butler says, not addressing her as miss or anything as they do not have much respect for the women that visit Enzo. Enzo is lying in his bed when the door of his room opens. Enzo has been thinking about Jennie all day, and he can not get the beautiful woman out of his head. He can only make out it is a blond woman, and he thinks it is Jennie sneaking into his room. So she could not get him out of her head as well?

“Hmm, so you were thinking of me all day? I was thinking of you and hoped I could see you again,” Enzo says. Alexa, thinking it is Dante is so excited she drops her coat and runs to Enzo’s bed.

“Be quiet and k**s me,” Alexa whispers.

“You are right. We can not wake up, my brother,” Enzo says.

“Your brother is here?” She asks Enzo.

“Yeah, here or on the farm with my parents, so let’s not take chances waking him up,” Enzo says and starts kissing Alexa. The room goes quiet as the two of them get into the business of things.

Enzo and Alexa make love all night. Both are in seventh heaven, thinking it is the person they want in their bed. So they make love all night, and Enzo thinks to himself that Jennie looks innocent, but she knows tricks he never experienced before. Finally, they fall asleep as the sun is about to come up. Dante is frustrated all night sleeping in his bedroom on the farm. He wants to go to Jennie and tell her how he feels, but she sleeps with Angelica in one room. Early the following day, they wake up the kids to prepare to go back to Houston and prepare for school. Jack is excited as he had a good meal last night, and he slept all night without someone waking him up.

“Remember it is Enzo’s birthday today, and we are having a party for him here tonight,” Jen says to Dante. Dante nods his head. He is not angry at his younger brother anymore.

“I have an idea! Can we go and surprise uncle Enzo with breakfast in bed, daddy?” Jayda asks, The three kids are already dressed for school, and Jack looks pleased with himself in his school uniform. It is the first time he is wearing a school uniform.

“Sure, princess, we can stop at a restaurant and get breakfast and share it with your uncle before you have to go to school,” Dante says. However, Jayden is not as excited about seeing his uncle again as he still has not forgiven him for spending a night in one room with his mother. So they get in the car and drive off as they do not want the children to be late for school. On their way to Dante’s house, they stop at a restaurant that serves breakfast and takes the full English breakfast to share with Enzo, whose birthday it is. As they walk into the house, everything is still quiet, and Jayda lights a candle on a cupcake so her mom and dad can take it to their uncle’s room. Dante does not trust that his brother will be alone in bed and does not want the children to see if he is not. Dante takes Jennie’s hand as they walk to Enzo’s room. Dante opens the door to Enzo’s room.

“Surprise!” Dante and Jennie shout. Enzo sits up and looks still like he is not fully awake yet. Alexa almost falls off the bed when she hears someone scream. Enzo is pale as he sees Jennie standing next to Dante. He grabs a blanket, wraps it around him and jumps out of bed. But, if Jennie is standing there, who is in his bed? Alexa seeing Dante, grabs a sheet and wraps it around her, and looks at the man she does not know at all.

“Who the f**k are you?” Enzo asks.

“Well, I can ask you the same question,” Alexa says. Dante and Jennie are standing in total shock as they look at Enzo and Dante.

“You slipped into my room last night. How the hell must I know who you are?” Enzo says.

“I thought you were him, and who did you think I was? ” Alexa says, pointing to Dante.

“I was hoping you were her,” Enzo says, pointing to Jennie. Dante wants to wring his brother’s neck again, and Jennie feels like hitting Alexa in the face. Jennie does not understand why she feels so jealous of Dante.

“Alexa sneaking into my neighbour’s house and acting so scandalously is unforgivable. I warned you to look for a job, and this is what you do? I want you out of the bachelor flat before this day is over. If you are not out, I will call Andrei and let his men remove you,” Jennie says furiously. She is so mad because she knows he cousin wanted to be in Dante’s bed. Dante looks at Jennie, and so does Enzo. Is Jennie jealous of Enzo?

“Are you jealous that I slept with Alexa, Jennie?” Enzo asks Dante says nothing as he also wants to hear the answer.

“Don’t be ridiculous. You are like a younger brother to me,” Jennie says.

“She is jealous because she does not want me near Dante, you stupid man. Can’t you see she loves him? She has loved Dante since she was a child. I may be younger than her, but I remember how she drooled about Dante when she was young,” Alexa says bitterly.

“Yeah, like he is in love with her, I guess I am kicked out as well. I w visit mother and father on the farm before flying back to LA. Here is my card. Call me if you want a job in LA,” Enzo says and hands his card to Alexa.

“I need a job and a place to stay, as you can see. Unfortunately, I have been kicked out,” Alexa says.

“Well, I will pay for a hotel room for you for a day or two. But, I think it is better to leave now as the love birds do not look too happy with us,” Enzo says. Jennie and Dante walk out of Enzo’s room to get privacy to get dressed.

“Is what Alexa said true?” Dante asks.

“You know I had a crush on you when I was in school and university,” Jennie answers. She knows Dante wants to know if she is still in love with him, but hell will have to freeze over before she admits it.

“So, you are not in love with me now?” Dante asks again before Jennie can answer the twins, and Jack looks for them.

“Mom, Dad, we are going to be late for school. Where is uncle Enzo?” Jayda asks.

“He is still sleeping, honey. You can congratulate him tonight at the party,” Dante says as he takes his family and walks out of the house. His car is ready to take them to school, and then he will drop Jennie off at work. They watch as all three of the children are inside the schoolyard before driving away. Dante looks at Jennie. He knows Jennie can not lie to anyone as her face will betray her.

“You still have not answered me,” Dante says.

“We will talk about that later, Dante. I am late for a meeting. Come eat with the children and me tonight, and I will think about giving you that answer you want,” Jennie says. Dante smiles as he has a feeling Jennie still loves him, and what Alexa said confirms it to him. So tonight, he will make sure no one and nothing disturbs them. He k****s Jennie passionately in front of her office. Carl is watching on as Jennie answers Dante’s k**s. He is still mad at Dante for calling in a favour from a friend. Jennie should be in his arms and not Dante’s arms!
