Chapter 56

Bethany

France was amazing, both me and Kaite had the best time, the teachers did an incredible job of mixing up the trip between educational and fun and there was a lot of fun! Unfortunately for me, I’ve not felt great the whole time I’ve been away, as the days have gone on it’s got worse.

It’s strange because wolves don’t get Ill but I’ve had a never-ending pulling feeling in my chest along with a hollow stomach and constantly feeling sick, however, I managed to push it aside and enjoy to the fullest, I’m not going to get this experience again.

It feels like it’s been days since we left France not hours but finally, our SUV is making its way down our drive and I can see my family waiting for me plus Katie’s dad and we’re major excited! As soon as the SUV stops, we both dive out of the doors and to our families.

Katie quickly reaches Toby and he’s soon squeezing the life out of her. Brooke quickly pulls me into a hug, well the best she can with her protruding belly, I swear she’s doubled in size since I left, I gently rub her belly before I’m turned around and pulled in for hugs from Ashley, Jack and Calvin.

Then I see him, after Brooke and Bella he is the one person that I’ve missed the most while I’ve been gone, my face is instantly covered in a beaming smile that he soon returns and I don’t think about what I’m doing I just run to him hugging him like I haven’t seen him for a year.

I know I’m squeezing him way too hard but for some reason, I can’t control myself and it doesn’t seem to bother him, he hugs me straight back and I swear I feel his body relax into me and the last thing I want to do is let go of him but I have to stop before it starts looking even weirder than it already does.

“Where is Bella?” I’m surprised she wasn’t here.

“She’s sleeping so I didn’t want to wake her but as soon as she’s awake she’s all yours!” That sounds like a good enough reason to me, Bella’s a little terror if you wake her from a nap.

“Why don’t you go and get yourself freshened up? Dinner will be ready in 1 hour!” I happily agree and head for my room, the moment I’m in there I head straight for my shower and get the water warming up. Honestly, I want nothing more than a long soak in the bathtub and my bed but I want to spend time with my family more.

The moment the hot water flows down my body I instantly relax, it really is good to be home. While I’m washing my body and hair my mind drifts off to thinking about Liam, if truth be told while I was away there wasn’t a day that went by where I didn’t think of him, it’s frustrating how badly I’m crushing on him but it doesn’t seem to matter what I do I just can’t get him out of my head.

If I can’t get him out of my head when I’m in a different country then how the f**k am I supposed to stop doing it here? I saw him 15 minutes ago and yet all I can think about right now is getting ready as quickly as possible so I can see him again, it also didn’t go unnoticed that the moment I hugged him I felt better, no pulling or hallow stomach, no sick feeling ether, what the hell is that about?

Beta Liam

It took everything in me not to stop Beth from going to her room to freshen up, I don’t want her out of my sight! Childish maybe but I don’t care! Nonetheless, I keep a smile on my face while Jonah has a hissy fit giving me a headache

“Jonah give it a f*****g rest, will you?”

“I want her with us. She’s already been away from us for too long!”

“You sound like a pup whining for attention!”

“I don’t give a f**k! Can we at least go up to the Alpha floor so we can be close to her?” This wolf is a pain in the a*s at times and f*****g lucky I love him. I can’t deal with his whining anymore so I head up to Cal’s.

“Cal is it ok to come in?” I link him instead of knocking just in case Brooke is trying to nap, he bellows out yes and I step inside to find Cal and Brooke on the sofa, she looks so uncomfortable while cal tries to rub her stomach to help ease her discomfort.

“Hey brother, I was expecting you sooner!” Huh?

“What do you mean?”

“Jonah’s been kicking off about being away from Beth, hasn’t he?”

“Ahh, he’s been an absolute nightmare!” Both Cal and Brooke start laughing.

“We may laugh but I know how it feels, remember when I first meet Brooke and we had to spend those 2 nights apart? Well, Colton was a nightmare when we got her back, as soon as she left the room, he was trying to have me follow her!” Now it’s mine and Brooke’s turn to laugh.

Before I can say anymore, I’m silenced by my girl walking in the lounge, she’s in casual clothes, hair left to dry naturally and flip flops, a natural look yet she still looks out of this world, f**k the older she gets the harder this situation is getting to handle, she smiles my way before sitting down on the love seat across from me.

“I’ve arranged a private lunch for us, Ashley, Jack and both our parents, I thought It would be nice to have some family time to celebrate Bethany’s return and baby girl’s safe arrival”

“Who’s baby girl?” s**t, I forgot Beth doesn’t know about Sarah giving birth or even her death. Cal quickly dives in telling her everything and the anger she shows when hearing how Sarah risked the baby’s life warms my heart, she’s going to be an incredible mom one day.

Soon after Bella wakes up and Beth literally runs for her nursery, they’re both beaming when they come out of the nursery, I don’t doubt Bella missed Beth just as much as everyone else.

We make it to the kitchen with a few minutes to spare, the others are already here waiting for us, everyone takes their usual seats while Beth grabs Bella’s high chair and brings it over next to me and then to my absolute delight she takes the seat on the other side of the highchair, close enough to keep both me and Jonah clam without it looking strange.

Jack is the last to finish his food and the moment he does Cal shoots up from his chair. “Can I please ask all of you to stay here, I have something I want you all to see, I’ll be back soon!”

Everyone agrees and the moment he leaves the kitchen the conversation starts up, speculation rife! Lucky, we don’t have to wait long as soon enough he steps back into the kitchen with baby girl in his arms wrapped up in a blanket and one of our top warriors Owen who has been guarding her all day following close behind.

“For those who haven’t met baby girl yet, here she is, she was born at 5.15 this morning!” I forgot how small she is, everyone is soon lining up to hold her in awe and amazement, how could something so perfect come from two wolves so evil?

“So, Alpha what’re the plans for this little one?” It’s finally my turn to hold her and it’s making my need to know what’s going to happen to her itch even more. He steps up to me and takes baby girl from me, against my wishes may I add and at the same time Alpha John and his Beta Freddy step inside the kitchen along with a few of his warriors.

“Great timing Alpha John, I’m glad you could make it!” Whys is he here? Everyone happily greats him, his men and the two she-wolfs that he’s brought along, we’ve formed a good alliance and bond with his pack over the last couple of months. Cal calls for everyone’s attention and quickly gets it.

“Ok, now that Alpha John is here and I have your attention I think it’s time for me to inform you all of my plan for this little beauty here!” We’re all giving him our full attention as everyone is eager to hear what will happen to her next.

“So, I’ve thought long and hard about this little girl’s future, I know we all have, we’ve all done our part to make sure she’s got here safely and I’m sure I can speak for most if not all of us when I say we feel very protective towards her and only want the best for her, so with that being said I think it’s time she was formally introduced to her new family, her new parents!”

Wait a second are the new parents in this room? Is he planning on keeping her with him and Brooke? Surely not that would be nuts with already having Bella and a Newborn due soon, but then again this is Calvin, nothing he does surprises me anymore.

Or is it someone that’s come here with John? Maybe that’s why he’s here? I don’t think I like the idea of her leaving our pack, Calvin was right when he mentioned some of us feeling protective of her, I certainly do, f**k my head is spinning with emotions and questions!

Calvin remains still and quiet for a few moments before he suddenly starts walking towards the table where everyone is sitting including Alpha John and his pack, he has a beaming smile on his face as he slowly reaches the table.

“Baby girl are you ready to meet your new parents?” He cooes down to the little bundle in his arms before he stops in front of two of the wolves at the table, he looks at them and smiles and they instantly have tears in their eyes, hands over their mouths in shock and love in their eyes already!

“Baby girl, meet your new parents!”
