I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 69

Dominic wasn’t one of those alphas who often got upset, let alone one who would bring out his fangs and have his eyes change color. But seeing shards of glass on the napkin next to the food and drops of b***d, he nearly freaked out. Her pheromones expanded in all directions aggressively yet protectively around Aidan.

He raised his head in the direction of his parents, his expression such that even Ophelia swallowed dryly. Reish didn’t speak, just glanced sideways at his wife in disagreement. He knew what she was like but he had never expected her to go to such extremes.

-Ophelia, back off,” he used his voice with the omega in a harsh tone giving her to understand that he was really upset. There was a limit to everything.

-But…” Ophelia was about to protest but both the look of her alpha and his son’s voice made her close her lips.

-No father- Dominic growled without raising his voice but letting all his fangs out, holding back so as not to disrespect them like all the well-behaved son he was- We are the ones who are leaving. If I had known something like this would happen I wouldn’t have let them even come close to my omega.

-Ophelia stood up, throwing her napkin on the table and spilling her glass of wine, “Don’t you think about what others will say about us, about your father,” she almost shrieked.

That made Dominic lose the last drop of control over him.

-Why the hell do you think I left this place, I bought and strengthened my own company, I’m a f*****g alpha, not a puppy that needs his protection anymore. Let alone his permission to have someone by my side. Aidan is my destined mate, whether they want to accept it or not, I marked him, he will be my husband and the mother of my puppies. And I will not allow them to humiliate him- her last growl made the glasses and windows vibrate.

Ophelia clenched the tablecloth in her hands, her face changing from pale to red with indignation. Her Dominic had never spoken to her like that. Beside her Reish stood up and she moved closer to him.

-My love, since when has our son been like this, what has he done?

-Reish’s eyes were like two blocks of ice and the omega shivered. He lowered his head and stepped back running away- Dominic, we talked- the alpha tried to enter into an agreement with his son. He was the only one he had and he did not intend to lose him on a whim of his omega.

-If it had been towards me, I would have kept quiet, but it was towards Aidan, I can’t tolerate that. You’re an alpha too, you understand me.

Reish understood his son’s position, but if he let him walk out that door, their relationship would break down and be very difficult to mend. He loved his wife, a relationship that started with an agreement and ended in a marriage of love, but he recognized that she was very tactless about some things.

Aidan, who had been silent all this time, with pulses in various parts of his mouth, had sensed the tense atmosphere. He hadn’t interfered by letting his partner handle everything but it had gotten out of control. Perhaps it was because his alpha was extremely upset that he hadn’t sensed the bitterness in his father’s voice.

He staggered as Dominic tugged him away from the place, overwhelmed by the mass of pheromones around him. He held on tightly to his arm and as best he could he spoke. The mucous in his mouth hurt but he had something to say. He didn’t want to be the reason his alpha broke ties with his family. That one of the two of them had done it was more than enough.

-Wait,” he said with an effort.

Dominic stopped and held him in his arms.

-Aidan, hold on, we’re getting out of here,” he kissed her temple thinking he was asking her to comfort him, but he shook his head.

-Let’s go to your room,” he frowned at the pulses inside his mouth.

-I don’t want to stay here, they hurt you,” he unconsciously squeezed her arms, he was out of control so he was unaware of the force he was using.

His father’s hand then tightened around his wrist, warning him.

-I know you’re upset, but breathe and take control of yourself, you’re hurting him- Reish had been suppressing his pheromones all along. An encounter between two high caliber alphas like them would end in worse conditions, even though her son’s pheromones made him aggressive. But he restrained himself by using everything he had learned over his years.

Dominic let go of Aidan’s arms and took a deep breath as he had told him. He closed his eyes and retracted his pheromones feeling Aidan drop onto his body and he was the one breathing shakily against his chest. He hadn’t realized it was getting to him and he wanted to hit himself. He wasn’t supposed to have strong emotions.

-You heard him- Reish pulled away and put distance- Take him to your room, it’s fixed. I’ll deal with your mother and we’ll talk later,” it was an order.

Dominic wanted to growl but his attention was fixed on Aidan. Putting him under so much stress was not good for his health, he needed to rest before another long trip like that. Against his will he carried him in his arms, letting him latch onto his neck and bury his face in the crook of his shoulder where his scent was strongest, and squeezing him protectively he set off in the direction of his room.

The servants only bowed in respect and kept their mouths shut. They had never seen one of their masters so upset and it was already common knowledge to everyone on that floor of what had happened.

Dominic lowered Aidan in front of the door to open it and shat him back down onto the soft bed. Without a word he headed for the bathroom and in one of the medicine cabinets there was a small first aid box, just like in all the bathrooms in the mansion. He returned and sat down next to his omega.

-Open your mouth, let me see,” he asked, regulating his tone of voice. He was still excited, but she didn’t want to scare him any more.

Aidan’s hand rested on his.

-Are you all right?

The question threw him. That was his question to ask.

-The one who is hurt is you, not me,” opening the box he grabbed one of the cotton balls and some small tweezers just in case. He had to make sure there were no pieces of glass left inside his omega’s mouth. Just remembering it made his pheromones come rushing back.

-Dominic- Aidan gasped and watched him react, leaving the environment clean again. He took it out of his hands and clenched his fists- I can take care of this, it’s just scratches, no other traces. Go take a bath and cool your mind, let’s talk better after that.

-But… -he put a finger on her lips- If you keep this up your pheromones will drive me crazy and I have no intention of dealing with an irrational alpha dominated by his instinct- he caressed her cheek- I’m fine, but apparently you’re not. Let’s talk later, okay?

Dominic was reluctant but in the end he got up and went into the bathroom without closing the door. Just to see if anything happened. He no longer trusted those four walls.

Aidan, for his part, put the cotton in his mouth and swabbed one of the wounds on the inside of his cheek. It was nothing serious, luckily he had spit it out quickly. It would heal in a short time, but if he didn’t do something, the wounds from Dominic’s parents’ relationship with him wouldn’t heal for a long time.
