Legend Of The Moon Princess -
Episode 101
By the time the pain subsided, I was sweating and gasping for air. It took me a few minutes to register what had happened. As Estarossa took my eye he used his alchemy skills to replace my eye with his own eye. I kept my right eye close to minimize the pain I was still feeling. Estarossa on the other hand didn’t seem to be bothered by the pain at all. When he opened his eyes to look at me. He had replaced his right eye with mine, but it looked like he was crying b***d out of that eye.
“Mother Selene always places the strength and magic of her children within their eyes. Taking one of yours under the light of the b***d moon allowed me to take some of you werewolf genes. Now I can create a beast of my own.” He said, then he walked away and continued to chant in that odd language again. I was so exhausted, but I tried to fight my body to stay awake. I needed to connect with him again. I needed to talk to him and get him to see what I saw in his sister and what she told me that day, but everything went black as I remembered what Jasmine told me three months ago.
Flashback~ Three months ago
Jasmine and I were sitting on the mountain behind her village. She claims that she wanted to show me the view, but I could feel that there was another reason for this little sight seeing trip. “Wow, Jasmine. This view of your village is wonderful.” I said with a huge smile. She gave me a small smile in return. “Thank you Melody. But I am sure you realized that I brought you here for something else as well.” She said in her normal calm tone but raised an eyebrow with a smile. I grinned and nodded at her. “Yup, and from the looks of it you wanted complete privacy.” I said.
Jasmine nodded. “No one is allowed up on this mountain top without the alpha’s permission. It is a special place for us. This is where every beast human in our bloodline has gotten their beast soul and shifted for the first time.” She said, as she walked to a large stone wall further back on the mountain. It was marked with what looked like different japanese characters, and the right side looked more worn out than the left. I went to the furthest point on the right side of the wall and traced some of the words carved into the stone.
“As each alpha takes on the title, they add on to the wall and carve their name and that of their mate. My great-great-great grandparents changed up that tradition and added their children’s names under theirs, but only the one that was to take over would add their names again next to their parents’ names.” Jasmine explained. I nodded and traced my fingers over the name of the first alphas of their clan. “Who names are these?” I asked her. “The Dragon King Igneel Dragneel and his mate, a female wolf beast named Rhitta.” Jasmine answered. “No last name?” I asked. She shook her head. “No one knows what her maiden name was, but it wouldn’t have mattered much. The mates of the next clan leader have always taken the Dragneel family name.” She said.
‘I wonder if she will take our family name, or talk to my brothers about taking hers.’ I thought to myself. I then headed over to the news part of the wall. I looked at it carefully and found Jasmine’s name by comparing the last big carving to the small carvings under the one before hers. “I’m not sure, but is this section from when your parents were alive?” I asked. She smiled and nodded. “The first small carving is Parker, then Estarossa, and finally mine. I am the first ever youngest born to inherit the clan.” She said. I looked back at the stone and noticed that Estarossa’s name seemed to be newer than hers and Parker’s name.
“Why does Estarossa’s name look fresher than yours and Parker’s name?” I asked her. She clenched her fist and took a deep breath. “When Estarossa killed my parents and trapped me, some of the elders took it upon themselves to banish him from the clan and exile him from the alpha family lineage. So they crossed off his name from the wall.” She said with sadness in her eyes and looked like she would cry, but being the stubborn alpha she was… she kept her brave face on and fought back the tears.
“I will always have hope that I could reason with him if given the chance. I loved both of my brothers growing up. They were always there when I needed them, and I never had to act strong all the time. So I vowed to be there when they needed me.” Jasmine said as she kneeled down beside me and ran her fingers over Estarossa’s name. “You carved his name back into the wall when you returned home, didn’t you?” I asked, placing my hand on her shoulder. She nodded. “Yes. No matter what he has done in the past, he is family and I have faith that deep down he is still my loving, caring, smart big brother that he was when we were children.” She said, finally dropping her guard and letting the tears flow.
She turned to face me. “Even Dalinda and Kria miss him. We are not so innocent either. There is b***d on our hands too. In this world it has always been ‘kill or be killed’. That is why when this is all over, no matter the outcome, my clan can move to your world and merge with the Raven Moon pack.” She said with a sad smile and tears running down his face. I pulled Jasmine into a tight hug. She cried into my shoulder. Finally letting her emotions come out. ‘No wonder she was glaring a bit at Parker when he said they needed to make sure Estarossa was finished for good this time. She still loves her brother and wants him back.’ I said to Artemis in my head.
‘I still say that she would be better off without him, as would the rest of the world.’ She said in a tone of annoyance. ‘Artemis, we are supposed to be helping people cross a bridge of understanding. We are supposed to help creatures understand each other and become closer.’ I snapped back at her. She huffed and retreated to the back of my mind without another word. ‘Great, now I have to convince her about helping Estarossa instead of killing him on sight.’ I mumbled to myself internally.
“Thank you, Melody.” Jasmine said, as she pulled back and wiped away her remaining tears. “I have been holding all that inside since I was sent to purgatory, I could never tell Parker or the others because they all believe that Estarossa should be killed as soon as possible if he wasn’t already dead.” She said as she turned back to the overview of the village. “My duty when I returned was to protect this village from any threat, whether it was external or internal.” She said. Then I remembered the saying that Kai had used a few times when we met. “Duty over matters of the heart.” I said in a soft voice.
Jasmine nodded. “I am telling you my true feelings now, because I believe you are my last chance of getting my twin brother back from the darkness that consumed him. If you can’t, then I will have to do what is necessary. I will kill Estarossa for the safety and peace of not only my clan, but you and your kingdom back in your world.” I placed my hand on her shoulder and gave it a small squeeze. “I will do whatever I can to help but if it comes down to having to end his life… I will do that. No one should have to be forced to kill their own family no matter how evil. Even worse for ones that entered this world that same time they did.” I said. I know I would not be able to kill my brothers if one or both of them turned evil. Of course I would kick their asses before they even had an evil thought cross their mind. “Thank you Melody. You are a true pure hearted and deserving of the title, Moon Princess.”
End of Flashback~
Jasmine’s POV
We are halfway to Rhitta’s Valley. It takes a full day to travel there on foot. The overgrown brush and weeds are making it a bit tougher. Most of the pathway is covered in them. It would be too difficult to travel in wolf form because of how small the pathway has become with all the vegetation, so we are moving as fast as we can on foot. I would fly as Dalinda, but the sky territory is claimed by the birds of paradise. They are nasty flying demons that live around the mountains of the valley. Getting into a clash with those creatures would alert Estarossa if he is in the valley.
All of a sudden, Terrance and Ethan grab their right eye. Groaning in pain. “What is wrong?” I asked them. They had to gasp for air a bit, but then they both looked at each other with horrified looks on their faces. “Melody is in pain.” Ethan said. Terrance was still covering his right eye. I thought for a moment and then snapped my head to the bright red moon above our heads. ‘Estarossa must be starting the ritual.’ Kria said in my head. ‘We need to hurry and get there… NOW!!’ Dalinda roared. ‘Right.’ I replied back. So much for trying to take him by surprise.
“HUGO!” I barked out. My head warrior and army general stepped forth and kneeled. “Yes alpha.” He answered. “The alpha’s guard and I are going to take the other worlders and rush to the valley using Dalinda. Take the warriors we bought so far and rush to the valley as fast as you all can get there.” I commanded. “Understood alpha. May Mother Selene watch over you.” He said, then he stood up and started rushing the 50 warriors we brought with us.
“You sure you wanna fly? What about the birds of paradise?” Kayla asked. “You and Natalia will be flying too. Kill anything that gets in our way. We need to reach the valley now.” I commanded. Kayla smirked and took her scythe off her back and brought out her wings. “You heard the alpha, sister dear. Wanna see who can take down the most?” She asked in a cocky tone. “You always loved turning every battle into a competition, but sure you are on.” Natalia said as she brought out her own wings. “I’ll join too.” Kai said. “I need to take my anger out on something.” He added, and transformed into his hybrid form.
I let Dalinda take control and the others climbed onto our back. “Now this is going to be a rough flight, so hold on very tight.” Dalinda said. They all nodded. Once everyone was ready, we took to the skies. Just like we thought, the birds of paradise came at us like starving animals. Kayla, Kai, and Natalia were quick to slaughter all that came our way. They held nothing back. Kayla and Kai were slicing them clean in half.
Natalia was circling around us and shooting her bow and arrows. Hitting each target clean in the head. Clearing the way for Dalinda to get everyone she was carrying to the valley as fast and safe as possible. “Hold on tight!” Dalinda cried out, then she took a massive dive down towards the valley, while the other three kept the winged demons busy. When Dalinda landed on the ground, with a loud thump, making the earth shake beneath her. Everyone slid off her back and she handed back control over to me. I looked around and my eyes widened when I saw Melody, with b***d running down on the right side of her face, chained to the Stone Table.
The Stone Table was what our ancestor, Rhitta, used to seal the gateway to the demon realm. I was more shocked about what was standing between us and Melody. There was a huge silver wolf with one red eye and one blue eye. The scent coming from it was similar, yet different at the same time. It snarled and snapped its jaws at me. “Estarossa?” I called out in shock. The silver wolf raised its head and let out a massive howl.
