Episode 109

We walked into the clinic and as usual… Kai and Riley were between both Estarossa and Melody, while Luca, Drake, and Jeremiah were on the other side of Melody. Ethan and Terrance were on the other side of Estarossa, but they seemed more annoyed than normal. “Is everything ok, Ethan? Terrance?” I asked as I left Helios by the door and went over to my mates. Ethan gave me a tired smile and nodded. Terrance didn’t say anything. He just silently grabbed me and buried his nose into my neck.

The sparks from his touch and his scent made me shiver. He must have felt it because I felt him smirk against my neck. Then he lifted his head slightly and lowly growled in my ear. Causing Kira and Dalinda to start purring at the sound. “It has just been stressful since it is going on three days and they haven’t woken up yet.” Ethan said.

I nodded in understanding and laid my head on Terrance’s chest to comfort him. One of the things I learned about my mates is that Terrance is a cuddler when he is stressed or upset, while Ethan tries to bottle it up. They really are my perfect halves for me because I do a bit of both. I have always been extra cuddly with Kai and Riley when I was frustrated, and when they left I just bottled it up.

“Mother, who is that?” Riley asked. I turned in Terrance’s arms and saw her and Kai both staring at Helios cautiously. I took a deep breath before I revealed everything to them. After an hour of explaining, everyone in the room now knew the whole story about Helios, our bloodline, and Helios’ idea to get Melody and Estarossa out of the blade. Helios explained how he could force them to shift early, but the shift would be far more painful then normal since they were not of shifting age yet. I also explained the consequences of a beast human shifting early and what could possibly happen to them.

Terrance, Ethan, and the others were against the idea. Terrance and Ethan had claimed Kai and Riley as their children and would die before risking them. Luca, Drake, and Jeremiah felt the same, but also because their mate was protective of the twins the most. I just looked at my children. Kai, my smart and clear headed thinker. He was very wise beyond his years and will make for a strong alpha or warrior one day. Whichever he chose for himself. I was not going to force the alpha title on him if he didn’t want it. Riley was my beautiful and strong little girl that brought anyone to their knees if they so much as looked at someone she cared for the wrong way. Yet she still had a very kind and innocence that could draw others to her.

Kira and Dalinda both agreed, they shall be the ones to choose their fate. I looked at my children. “Riley, Kai… You both are guardians, and I trust your judgment. What do you wish to do?” I asked them. Riley and Kai looked at each other, then between Helios and I. “I want to do it.” Riley said. I felt Terrance become stiff around me, then he hugged me closer. “I will as well.” Kai said. I nodded with both pride and a heavy heart. I moved out of Terrance’s arms and wrapped my own around them. Kissing them on the head and telling them how much I loved them and how proud I am of them.

Ethan and Terrance looked as if they still wanted to fight the idea, but soon gave up when Riley ran over and hugged both of them. Jumping up so she could wrap her thin arms around both of their necks. I then turned to Helios. “So where and when can we do this?” I asked. “Well that depends… Did Rhitta pass down her kagura dance and song?” He asked in return. I thought for a moment and the only dance I could think of, that was passed down in our family, was the Hinokami Kagura dance. “Do you mean the Hinokami Kagura?” I asked. Helios smiled and nodded. “Yes we know the dance, but only I know the song.” I told him.

At first Kai struggled with it, but when Titan woke up he picked it up as quickly as a bird learns to fly. Riley was like a goddess when it came to dancing. Even if she only sees it once, she could mimic anything and then flip it to make it her own. “Then we can do it today, when the sun is at its highest point in the sky.” He said. ‘That was in about an hour.’ I thought to myself. “Where can it be done?” Kai asked. “We can do it anywhere to be honest, but somewhere that there is more nature.” He answered. ‘Jasmine, how about we take them to our secret spot?’ Kira suggested. I smiled. ‘Perfect.’ I turned to the group and smiled widely at them. “I know the perfect spot.” I said, with a wink.

Melody’s POV

It is hard to determine how long we are in this place. “Melody, are we just gonna be trapped here forever?” Estarossa asked. I turned to him. “To be honest I don’t know, but I am sure everyone is thinking of every possible way to free us.” I said. Though I don’t know how they could come up with a way, I know they would never quit trying. “They would be doing it for you more than me. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just cut my head off after my soul was sucked into the sword.” Estarossa said with a small sad smile.

I sat down next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Well I can’t say that they may have thought about it, but I am pretty sure that Jasmine will wait until you are awake. Because if she was going to kill you, then she would do it when you are looking her in the eyes. Plus I think she wants answers before you kick the bucket.” I said, giving him a teasing smile at the last part. Estarossa chuckled a bit. “If we get back to the real world, Melody, I will be in your debt. I would gladly serve you until my final breath if I am allowed to live.” He said with a bigger smile than before. “If it keeps you alive, then consider you hired. Besides, if you live then you can always strive to be a better person than before and make amends for the past.” I told him. We both busted out in laughter and then there was a warm golden glow that started to shine throughout the whole area. All we could do was close our eyes from the brightness.
