Dear Readers,

The song I have chosen for this chapter is the Hinokami Kagura Dance from the anime, Demon Slayer. I did translate the words to English like I always try to do when I use different languages. The song may not go with my story, but the way the song makes me feel when I listen to the original version seemed perfect for how the feelings and atmosphere for the ritual is supposed to be like. I am only using part of the song because it is so long. I would suggest taking a moment to listen to the original version off the internet before reading this chapter. That way you can feel how the setting is for the ritual.

Third Person POV

Jasmine led everyone into the forest right behind her house. It was a small ten minute walk and they came up to a spring. The water was so clear that you could see all the way to the bottom. “What is this place?” Helios asked. He was amazed at the pure air and clean water that was around him. The energy that he was feeling from this place was perfect for them to do the ritual. “Estarossa and I made it when we were close. This was our secret spot, not even Parker knew about this area.” Jasmine said as she walked further into the clearing.

“Really?” Helios asked, very impressed that a couple of young children could create something like this. “Yup. It was just filled with dead trees. We carefully burned all the trees and mixed the ashes with the soil. Once the soil was healthy again, we made the spring and a small canal to bring fresh water from the mountains to here. We would always hide out here” Jasmine said, with a smile as she remembered the memory.

“Well this place is perfect, and will help us even more since it was a special place in Estarossa’s past.” Helios said. Then he turned to Drake, who was carrying Estarossa’s body, and Luca, who was carrying Melody’s body, and pointed to a clear area. “Place them right over there. Kai and Riley you will be on the side closest to Melody. Jasmine and I will be on the other side next to Estarossa.” Helios instructed. Drake placed Estarossa down and Luca laid Melody next to him. There was a few feet of space between their bodies. Helios then laid the golden sword between them.

Kai and Riley left their swords with Ethan and Terrance as they made it to their spots. They were around ten feet away from Melody. Jasmine went to her spot. Helios had a couple of small glasses in his hand. He bit into his wrist and filled both glasses up with his b***d. His b***d was a golden color. Helios handed a glass to Kai and Riley before he went over to his spot. Everyone stepped farther back and was waiting by the tree line.

“Okay we have a few minutes until it is noon.” Helios said, looking up into the sky. Kai was starting to become nervous. He felt his grace coming forward. He was trying to hold it in. “Kai, relax. Your grace will be very helpful for the ritual. Just breathe.” Helios told him. Kai nodded. He took a deep breath and felt a little more relaxed but was still nervous. Helios turned to Jasmine. “Jasmine, bring out Dalinda and Kira please.” He requested. “Okay.” Jasmine said. She bit into both of her thumbs and did some quick hand signs before slamming them onto the ground. “Summoning Jutsu.” She said and a giant puff of smoke engulfed them. When the smoke cleared, Dalinda was standing behind Helios and Kira was behind Jasmine. ‘I am going to be so drained after this.’ Jasmine thought to herself. She had never brought both of her beast souls out at once before.

“Okay, drink the b***d and follow us in the kagura dance while you focus your thoughts on Melody. Even after you shift, keep thinking of Melody and the moves of the dance.” Helios instructed the twins. Riley and Kai both looked at each other and nodded to each other. ‘See you when this is all over big brother.’ Riley quickly linked Kai. Kai smiled at his little sister. ‘Same to you too, little sis. I love you.’ He said before he downed the b***d in one go. ‘I love you too.’ Riley replied as she downed her glass too. Once the glasses were empty, they dropped them to the ground. Helios turned to Jasmine and she nodded. She closed her eyes and began to sing, then the four of them started moving in sync to the song.

Ethan and Terrance were in dumb founded with the lovely voice of their mate. They had never heard anything more beautiful in their lives. While Riley’s voice sounded wonderful, Jasmine’s voice sounded like an angel among angels. Everyone was watching in wonderDalinda took to the sky and flew around them moving her body to the melody of the song. It was like she was dancing to the song as well. Kira was doing the same thing on the ground. She hopped around and moved her body as if she was dancing, but they both always remained behind the main four dancing on the ground.

Kai and Riley then felt a burning sensation inside them. Riley slightly whimpered at the pain. It felt as if boiling hot lava had been injected directly into her veins. Ember tried to comfort her, but at the same time neither of them could lose focus on bringing Melody back. ‘Riley, sweetheart. I know it is painful, but try to stay focused on Melody. Let me take care of our body.’ Ember said, trying to give her human some encouragement. With pain on her face Riley continued to dance as her mother sang.

Kai felt a strong surge of energy pass through his body. His knees started to buckle under the pressure of the pain. ‘Just breathe, Kiddo. We will make it through this. The first shift is always the worst.’ Titan said, making Kai give him a small painful smile. Pushing through the pain he and Titan followed through the dance.

Riley and Kai then dropped to their knees, no longer able to move due to the pain. They continued to think of Melody, even though they could no longer move their bodies to the rhythm of the dance. Titan and Ember tried to ease the pain as much as possible, but like Helios said. The pain of the first shift was multiplied tenfold because of How early they were shifting. Drake and Luca had to grab Ethan and Terrance and hold them back. They wanted to run to the twins and comfort them, but stepping inside the magic circle would have broken the connection. Bones breaking and reshaping were filling the air and mixing with the voice of their mother singing.

Dalinda, still moving her body to the song, hovered over Kai’s body. While Kira was dancing behind Riley. Riley felt her skin begin to burn and itch as fur began to sprout out of every pore on her body. Kai’s skin became hard and scaly. Their bodies began to grow to the size of their beasts as they started to take shape. The few minutes felt like hours internally to Kai and Riley that felt helpless. As their shift took place they felt they could only breathe as they tried to not scream and fight it.

Everyone watched in amazement as Riley took the form of a wolf similar to Kira. Ember was slightly smaller than Kira and she had the same dark blue star on her head that Kira did. Ember’s paws and the tip of her tail was also white like Kira, but Ember’s main fur was a light blue-green color and her eyes were golden yellow with a bit of red in the center. Once Riley and Ember were fully shifted, Ember stood up and let out a powerful howl. The howl makes the winds around them encircle Estarossa and Melody’s bodies. Rising them off the ground in like a tornado vacuum.

Kai had shifted into a dragon similar to Dalinda, but Titan was all golden yellow from head to tail and a bit bigger than Dalinda. His eyes were a bright spring green color with a fiery red around the slit pupils, making it look as if he had a fire flickering in his eyes. Looking deeper into his eyes you could see flakes of gold in them. Titan let out an ear deafening roar before he took to the sky and joined Dalinda in her dance.

As Jasmine neared the end of the song, Titan and Dalinda both blasted their fire into the winds holding Estarossa and Melody. Turning the clear tornado into a tornado of blue and gold fire dancing around and around. The area was full of intense and powerful energy that was making everyone believe if this didn’t work to free them from the sword, then nothing could.

Jasmine had finished the singing, and the dance was over. Dalinda and Titan both landed. Titan landed in the spot that Kai originally started in, while Dalinda landed behind Helios again. Kira had moved back to behind Jasmine. Ember never really left her spot, but she had stopped howling. The fire and wind died down, showing Melody and Estarossa were back on the ground. Helios had used up a lot of his energy. He silently went back to the goddess realm as Jasmine made the first move and walked towards the bodies.

Back in the Goddess Realm…

Helios had to return to replenish the energy he had used to not only bring the souls trapped in the sword out… but to safely force two young ones to shift into their beast extremely early. Selene and Eos rushed to him and engulfed their brother in a hug. Helios returned the embrace. “I fixed my mistake, little sister. Now it is your turn.” Helios said in Selene’s ear.
