I turned back to the twins and placed my hands on my h**s. “The two of you ran away?” I asked in shock. “It is kind of a yes and a no.” Riley answered. “We left when you came of age and started to sense your powers growing, but we left without telling anyone back home.” Kai added. “Why on earth did you think that was a good idea?” Dad asked in a disapproving tone. Riley hugged Leah around her neck, while Kai ran his fingers through Adien’s fiery feathers. “Because mother’s beast souls are very protective of us, about ten times more than what Melody was doing.” Riley said. “Well any parent would be that way. Midnight is still that way with my children.” Mama said.

Kai sighed. “Yes, but things can be more difficult when the beast soul is a dragon.” “Just like how regular dragons would hoard treasure, mother’s beast soul, Dalinda, was the strongest against us becoming guardians, even if mother and Kira kept telling her that there was no avoiding it.” Jeremiah holds up his hand to pause them for a moment. “Hold on, you said souls, as in more than one?” he asked. Riley and Kai nodded. “Yes mother is feared for what makes her special and strong.” Riley says. “Mother is the only hybrid offspring that has a beast soul from each parent.” Kai added.

“So what exactly does that mean?” I asked, still confused. “It means that their mother has a dragon beast soul and a wolf beast soul, instead of just one or the other.” TJ explained to me. “Right?” Riley nodded. “Yes. Dalinda is mother’s dragon soul, and Kira is her wolf soul.” She explained. “Plus mother has the ability to transform into either of them as well.” Kai said. “Is that why those demons started shaking when you said your mother’s name?” Dad asked. The twins shrugged. “Most demons fear our mother because she has become immune to their tricks with poison and toxins.” Kai answered. “Why is she immune?” Daddy asked. “Because mother is the only living thing to ever survive a whole year in purgatory.” Kai said.

“What is purgatory?” I asked. I never heard that term before. “Purgatory is a desolate wasteland where wandering souls and monsters dwell.” Adien said. “Yes and to hear that a mortal survived for more than a few minutes in that place is incredible. The air is scorching hot and freezing cold at the same time and the earth is toxic, together destroying the flesh and bone of the living. ” Leah said. “One minute in the mortal realm would be a whole year in purgatory.” Adien added.

*Note: I researched how time flows to be as accurate as possible, but what I found was mostly based off what people believe in so I went with my own logic for how time flows in different realms. Plus even though the twin’s mother spent so many years in purgatory I have her age going by mortal years so she is currently 25 years old.*

“Mother spent a whole mortal year in purgatory before she had us. Making her time in purgatory 525,600 years.” Kai said. Riley nodded. “How did she end up there?” They shrugged. “Don’t know. All mother would tell us about purgatory is how it made her stronger.” Riley said. “Mortals sent to purgatory would either die from the harsh conditions and turn to dust, or they would turn into mindless monsters that wander the land.” “You keep talking about monsters, what kind of monsters?” EJ asked. “Souls that had fallen into Purgatory most of the time will be transformed by rage into pitch-black creatures with no definite form or substance. When they die they turn to dust.” Adien explained.

“How come that didn’t happen to you mother?” Papa asked. “Because of Dalinda. A dragon is just as immortal as a vampire, witch, or warlock. Time is something that can not kill them.” Leah said. “Mother Selene must have seen something in her that made her gift their mother with both a dragon and a wolf beast soul.” I rubbed my head, this was a lot to take in. “Wow. The Moon Goddess seems to be a good judge of character.” I said. I mean she is the one that pairs us with our mates and our wolves throughout our lives.

Riley seemed to have an idea on something because she perked up and turned to Leah. “Leah, can you do some searching for me in your realm?” Leah nodded. “Of course. What do I need to look for?” She asked. “I need you to find out anything you can on an alchemist named Estarossa. He is the one after Melody.” Riley said, in a cold tone. Leah’s eyes turned pitch black. “If we find him, he will wish death.” Lean said, then she jumped into the air and disappeared into a whirlpool of water, while Adien spread his wings and flew around the room a few times before he burst into flames and disappeared.

“Where did they go?” I asked. “They went back to their magical realm. Most mortals know it as the fae kingdom.” Kai explained. “How many different realms are there?” TJ asked. Riley put her hand to her chin as she thought about it.

Let’s see, there is the…

The Goddess Realm. It is where the archangels and goddess clan live.

The Demon Realm. It is a place where hellish souls from all worlds are sent to and give birth to demons. (*Note: I am using the demon realm as a hellish connection between both worlds.*)

The Fae Kingdom or Fairy Realm. It is where most mythical creatures like centaurs, sators, and fairies of all kinds live.

The Spirit Realm. It is where the spirits of those that came before us dwell, they go there if there is a purpose for them to aid the living with wisdom and guidance.

Purgatory. A realm where those exiled from all realms are thrown away into.

And finally the Mundane Realm. That is where we live.

“And before you ask, the difference between worlds and realms is that all worlds exist in the mundane realm. They are just in parallel dimensions.” Kai said quickly after Riley finished listing all the different realms. “Ok, How about we talk more about this when we get home. This is a lot to take in all in one day and it is supposed to be a fun day for Luca and Melody.” Mama said, while a clap of her hands. I nodded in agreement. My head was starting to spin with questions about all the worlds and realms they were talking about. “I think that is a good idea, and I think we should stay here tonight before we return to Raven Moon. That way Kai could get some proper rest before we leave.” I said. Kai nodded his head.

I could see in his eyes that he was too tired to even protest. Using his divine gifts seems to really take a toll on his ten year old body. “Yes ma’am, but I will be staying with you tonight in case there are any more demons wandering around.” Riley said. Jeremiah, Drake, and Luca all g*****d. If Riley was sticking to me tonight then they couldn’t have their way with me. I giggled, feeling a tad sorry for my mates. Because I could tell by the look on her face that she wasn’t going to take no for an answer, so my mates would have to suck it up and be big boys. After all that was settled we went back to the party. Riley stuck to my side the entire time, while Kai was close to EJ’s side.

Estarossa’s POV

I growled when I felt the bond between me and my servants were cut yet again. “Just who are these so-called guardians that keep getting in my way?” I asked into my mirror pond. It was a magical pond that linked this world to the demon realm. I found it very ironic that a world with hardly any magic at all besides that of the supernatural creatures that dwell here, held the strongest connection to the demon realm. ‘I looked into Melascula’s and Galand’s memories before their souls were completely destroyed. Apparently the two young guardians are the offspring of someone you know… Jasmine Dragneel.’ Ultear spoke through the pond.

I bit my l*p so hard that I tasted b***d. ‘Jasmine f*****g Dragneel.’ I suddenly burst out laughing. “Hahaha, oh how funny this is. Maybe if I cause her children some pain, she will come out and play with me. Things between us have gone on for far too long.” I sneered. Jasmine was the one that enjoyed my torment the most, I will enjoy seeing her suffer as I was forced to suffer. “Hmmm I wonder if they are the result of when I used that orb, you gave me years ago, on that one beast human.” I thought out loud.

‘It would appear so. That orb made his instincts go into a frenzy. It was supposed to cause him to kill her for us before she matured into her powers, but he was so lost in his search for his mate that he was too far gone in his l**t for a female body. He then used demon metal and silver to bind Jasmine to his will for three whole days and took her over and over. Then that bastard Parker found her and killed him on site.’ Ultear spoke. I huffed. “It shouldn’t matter. I will get that Moon Princess no matter what. She is the key to not only me getting my own beast, but breaking the seal on the demon realm and freeing you so we can be together, my love. Then we can rule this pathetic world together.” I said as I looked into the pond. “Though we will send them some new friends to play with in a fortnight. When there is no moon.”
