Ethan’s POV

The silence was heavy as we waited for our mate’s clan to response to us. After what felt like an eternity, the crowds erupted into excited howls, growls, and cheers. There were voices everywhere. “Praise Mother Selene, our alpha was gifted with second chance mates.” one person yelled out. A few different people kept chanting ‘Praise Mother Selene.’ “Now we had three alphas watching over us.” another voice called out.

I turned and saw the smiling face of my brother. He was just as relieved as I was that the clan was so accepting towards us. Jasmine then clapped her hands twice and everyone quieted down just as quickly as they broke out into cheers. “I am pleased you all accepted them. I will meet with the village council later this evening to discuss matters of the future.” Jasmine said in her alpha tone. “Yes alpha!” echoed throughout the crowd. “But first, one more introduction. The sibling of my mates, the queen of her territory back in her world, and the chosen Moon Princess, by Mother Selene herself. Melody Jackman!” Jasmine said, gesturing for our baby sister to step forward.

The crowd gazed at Mel as if she was a rare treasure on display. Then one by one. Every man, woman, and child started to bow their heads to Melody. The ones in beast form lowered their heads, while the ones that were in human form got down on one knee and bowed. An old man with a long white beard stood up and came forward. “Elder Cross.” Jasmine said with a small nod of her head. Elder Cross bowed again, but this time he didn’t kneel. His eyes were closed the whole time, but then he stood up and moved in front of Melody.

“May I, your highness?” He asked in a soft grandfather tone of voice, as he held out his hand. Melody looked at his hand and then to Jasmine. She half laughed at our sister’s confused look. “Elder Cross is blind, but gifted as well. He can see into a person’s future and their heart but can only see the surface of their emotions, but it can only be done through touch.” Jasmine explained to Melody. Melody nodded and then laid her hand in Elder Cross’ hand. He placed his other hand on top of her and gently rubbed the back of her hand.

“You are a very pure hearted and kind soul, my dear.” Elder Cross said, with a smile on his lips. “You will see what no one else can and return what has been lost for so long. That is the future I see for you, my princess.” He added with a bow. Bringing Mel’s hand up to his forehead. “Trust in yourself and in your wolf. Mother Selene has chosen wisely to put her faith into you, child.” He said, before he finally let her hand go. Melody looked at her hand in thought, then she silently walked up to Edler Cross and placed her forehead to his. Her eyes were shining a deeper blue than before as soon as they connected. Elder Cross smiled and patted Melody on the head. “It is good to see you as well, Lady Artemis. Same to you young Master Apollo and young Master Thor.” He said as he pulled away from Melody.

Terrance and I were shocked he called out our wolves. “You don’t seem all that shocked to see them in different forms, Grandpa Cross.” Ren stated with amusement in her voice. Elder Cross smiled and nodded. “I saw what they needed and told them what would send them down the right path. They needed to give up what they had here in order to fully grow to their full strength.” He said. ‘Ah so that is why he told us how to get Jasmine out of purgatory all those years ago.’ Apollo muttered in my head. ‘Wait, Elder Cross was the one that told you how to save Jasmine?’ I asked him. ‘Yeah. The others would never have told us because they knew we would try it no matter the risks.’ Apollo replied.

“Elder Cross, may I know what you saw in Melody’s future?” Jasmine asked. Edler Cross seemed to be torn a bit on if he should say or not. “I am sorry my alpha. I feel that if I say more than necessary then her future will be altered.” Elder Cross said with his head bowed low. I turned to Jasmine and she was nodding. “No problem, Elder Cross. You have never led me astray before so I will trust in your judgment.” Jasmine said. She laid a hand on Elder Cross’ shoulder, who seemed to relax at her statement.

Later…

We were in what looked like the town square. There are lots of tables filled with all different kinds of food. “Wow it seems like a festival.” Terrance said. “Is there something we are celebrating?” I asked Kai. “Well having your Alpha return home unharmed is a reason to celebrate in it’s own right, but this time around we have the moon princess in our village, along with the mates of our alpha. I guess they are just overjoyed at all the news today.” Kai answered, as he shrinks back a bit. “You okay Kai?” I asked. Riley starts giggling. “Don’t worry brother. I will handle them.” She said, while trying to contain her laughter. Kai nodded and then ducked under the table.

Before I could ask, a group of giggling girls that were around the twins’ age came up to the table. “Riley! Where is Kai?” One of them asked. Riley pretended to think for a moment before she answered. “Sorry Lizzy, but I have no idea where he is at the moment.” Riley said in the most fakest cheerful voice I had ever heard in my life. This caught the attention of my siblings and Mel’s mates. “Argh! You know well that only my friends call me Lizzy. A mongrel like you should address me with respect. My name is Lisanna to you.” The girl scoffed. Her voice is full of entitlement and nothing but smugness on her face. Terrance and I growled at this girl calling Riley a mongrel, but Riley patted our shoulders and smiled.

She stood up and faced the girl. Looking her dead in the eyes with a sharp look in her eyes. “I would rather be a mongrel, then a selfish entitled purebred like you, Lizzy.” She said the girl’s nickname with a sarcastic tone. The girl growled and her face turned red with either anger or embarrassment. “You know little Ri-ri, no one in this clan really likes you. You are a disaster waiting to happen. Why do you think your own mother chains you up on nights with no moon?” Lisanna fired back at Riley with a smug smile. Riley clenched her fist, but kept her face neutral. Kai had told Terrance and I that Riley’s biggest fear in the world was that the people she was close to were afraid of her and her berserker form.

“People in this village only tolerate your existence because your mother is our alpha and your brother is a well trained and respected warrior.” She said as she walked closer until she reached the table. Then she leaned over so she was right in RIley’s face. “You are nothing but a mistake.” She said while glaring right at Riley. The air was filled with a silent tension that could be cut with a knife. “Is there something going on here?” A hard voice asked before anyone could say something to this brat. Both girls turned and snapped their heads to the voice. A tall tan man with tattoos all over his chest and shoulders came walking up to the table. “No father. I was just looking for Kai, but Ri-ri doesn’t know where he is.” Lisanna said as she moved away from Riley and our table.

The man looked between Lisanna and Riley. Riley bowed her head to the man. “Hugo Sensei, I trust you have been well?” She asked in a polite manner. The man, Hugo, smiled and returned the bow that Riley had given him. “Lisanna if you have time to chase after a male that is not yours then put more focus on your training. Then maybe you will be about half as good as Riley when you learn to grow up.” He said in a stern voice. Lisanna gasped and stormed off while Riley held her head up high and smiled at Hugo. “You know you are going to hear from your mate later, Sensei.” Riley said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.

Hugo shrugged. “If my mate would not have spoiled our child so much then she would be a well respected member of our clan. Plus purebred or not, no one is a mistake in this clan. Especially you little warrior.” He said as he ruffled Riley’s hair. “And you can come out now Kai.” He said while looking down where Kai was hiding under the table. Kai peeked out and smiled at Hugo. “Kai how come you don’t just tell that girl off if you don’t like her?” Mel asked. “I have, but she doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. The females here only like me because of who my mother is, and that I am a strong fighter. They don’t know anything else about me.” Kai said, with irritation in his voice and eyes. “Lisanna has gone so far as to try and trap Kai into being her intended. If a male of any age sees a female in an indecent manner alone, then by law the alpha would have to make them each other’s intended. So when they come of age, they will mark each other in front of the whole clan.” Riley explained. Hugo nodded. “I will do my best to keep a closer eye on her. I will admit I got too relaxed while you were gone.” He said before he walked away.

Kai and Riley sat down. “So Hugo trained you?” I asked the twins. “A bit. Most of our training is done by mother and the alpha’s guard.” Kai answered. “Hugo Sensei was mostly the first person besides Elder Cross that accepted us. They see us as members of the clan. Not mistakes that should never have existed.” Riley added. “Okay, and what was with that other guy… The one that was told to prepare for us to stay when we got here?” Drake asked. Kai and Riley’s face became hard and they let out a little growl. “Fraudrin is the younger brother of our mother’s first mate, Dreyfus.” Kai said. “He saw everything that day. Mother only took him into the clan because he and his brother were rogues.” Riley said.

“He causes no issues since mother let him join the clan, but he has never hid the fact that he hates us for what happened to his brother.” Kai said. “I have caught him a few times glaring at mother, but he has not caused any trouble so she ignores it.” Riley said. ‘Well it looks like we will be keeping a close eye on him along with that little girl.’ I said in a shared mind link with Terrance, Mel, and her mates. ‘Damn straight, no one is going to harm our mate or our pups.’ Terrance and Thor replied in unison. Mel, Luca, Drake, and Jeremiah nodded.

Third Person POV

Fraudrin is walking around the dark forest right outside the village. “How could that tramp of an alpha get not only a second chance mate, but mated to twins of alpha b***d as well?” He asked himself out loud. He had planned to create a very deadly poison to kill Jasmine off when he got the chance. She was the reason that he lost the last of his family. His brother was all he had after their parents were captured and killed by a different alpha. He wanted revenge but he wasn’t stupid enough to challege the alpha knowing he was no where near her strength.

“Sounds like we can help each other.” A voice said from the shadows. Fraudrin jerked his head around. Looking for the owner of the voice. “Who is there?” He demanded. The voice laughed. “Just someone that can help you if you help me in return.” The voice stated. Fraudrin scoffed. “And how can I trust you will help me. You can’t kill the alpha.” He said. “I have come close, and if you get me what I want I will make you a poison that will cease the alpha’s heart without a trace.” the voice said. Fraudrin thought for a moment. Then smiled.

“What the hell. Not like I have anything to lose if this doesn’t work.” He said. Then he heard rustling coming from behind him. He turned to see what was there and was met with Estarossa coming into the light of the moon. “ Then it looks like we have a deal.” Estarossa said with a wicked grin.
