Luna Abigail
Chapter 32

Third Person P.O.V.

As they ran towards the new pack house, thought upon thought raced through Matt’s head. What could have caused his friend and brother to collapse like that? He himself had felt the rage course through Abby, but had Jason experienced something alike? That would be impossible, unless it resolved around his own mate.

The matebond, Matt thought to himself. It truly is remarkable. There is still so much they don’t understand about its powers and abilities. Matt vowed, as they hurried along, he would research in the abilities and possibilities of the matebond when things calmed down a bit. Then he heard Blade chuckle in his head.

‘So, we will start this adventure when we are old and grey?’ Blade snorted in laughter. Matt mentally shook his head at his wolf. No! He would take the time to gather information about this subject. It could be vital for the future generation. He felt that so strong in his heart, there was no going back from this thought.

Matt quickly mind-linked his warriors to be on the lookout for enemies at their borders, then he asked Kaiden to contact Morgan’s second in command. He wondered if a curse could be the reason for this? Matt ordered Kaiden to ask the second in command to come to the pack house and help, and to ask her coven to check and strengthen their borders against magical attacks.

He didn’t like to take chances when his people were involved, and Jason was not just his people, but his family.

They arrived at the same time as a young female witch. Her eyes swirled with worry and anger, as she was afraid someone had come across their alarms throughout the borders. Even if the person itself was magical, it was supposed to set the alarm to go off. Their coven took their warm welcome to the pack(s) very seriously, and ever since Morgan became Mother of them, they had felt even more connected to the wolves. So, if someone had got through with a magical tool, or magic in themself, they would have failed their duty to their Mother and to their home. None of them took this lightly, and as she was hurrying to aid in any capacity she could, her members were searching through the borders and putting more safety into their alarm system.

She nodded to the alpha King, following behind him and his third in command inside. The third in command was the mate of her Mother, and she owed him respect. Something he had earned on more than one occasion, being forward with them all, helping whenever he can and trying to learn about their culture. Something few other species or fractions took the time to do.

“Alpha King Matthew, my name is Adriana. I am the second in command to our Mother Morgan, and I will help in any way I can.” The young woman politely says with a bow of her head. Then a growl rings through the hall, and someone pushes through the crowd.

They lifted Adriana from the ground, and pushed into the wall in the entrance hall. A tall stranger is holding her in place while he rumbles and sniffs her neck. A small m**n leaves her lips before she can stop herself. The stranger is holder on to her so tight; she fears he will crush her, but he grinds slightly into her.

Adriana can hear slight coughs and snickers around her and the man, but he is not letting up. He pushes more into her, before a resounding “MATE” is heard from him in a deep and husky voice.

Matt clears his throat. If you don’t mind gamma Jeremy, then we ought to get to your alpha now. You don’t have to leave her side, but please let her breath. And let her down! He orders in his alpha king tone. Jeremy steps back a little, and Adriana finds herself a little disappointed at the loss of contact. She had recognized the sparks and electricity flowing through her veins, as she had heard many tales about who it felt to be the mate of a werewolf. They were very desired between her people for their loyalty and love towards the mate. Adriana couldn’t quite fantom the moon and wicca goddess had paired her with this absolute hunk of a man. Damn! She was drooling, and didn’t even care.

“Ahem. When you are done eye f*****g my gamma, we may be able to proceed with the task at hand?” A dry voice said from behind her. She turned on her heel, ready to defend herself, but a muscular arm snaked around her waist.

“Easy Jonathan. She was just checking out the goods.” Her mate said with amusement while winking down at her. Adriana hid her face in her hands. This was beyond embarrassing.

“Don’t worry, darling. I’ll show you the full package later.” Jeremy proceeds to say, making his gorgeous doll of a mate blush even more. He laughs a booming laughter, but turns serious with one look from Matthew.

“I’m sorry, my King.” He says with a small amount of remorse. Matthew nods and moves towards the livingroom which is buzzing with concerned voices.

Jason is laying in the middle of the room, doctors and nurses at his side. Everyone clears the way for Matt and his companions. Matt kneels down beside the confused alpha, smiling at him.

“Can’t let you out of sight for five minutes, and you need to do something to get my attention again, huh?” He says with a cheeky smile. Jason rolls his eyes.

“I’m fine, now. But I felt something break inside of me, then a sorrow so deep it took everything not to puke and lastly an anger so dark I felt scared for myself and my surroundings.” Jason replies with pearls of sweat on his forehead.

“It wasn’t just you, bro. I felt it too. It has to be the girls.” Matt says while helping Jason to his feet.

“Just after the mind-link ended, I felt something similar. It was definitely Abby I felt.” Jason nods. It had to be Ellie, and he feared the answer to what could have made her like that.

“About right before you came in, another feeling washed over me, and I felt relief and grateful.” He gives Matt a side eye. They are both thinking the same. The only reason any of their mates would give of feelings so strong they could travel through the realm border was if something happened to their babies or their family. Then the question was, which one of those possibilities was to hope for? The answer. None. But something had clearly happened.

Jason looks around the room. He does not know how long he was out for? He only knew something terrible and then wonderful had happened to Ellie. Jason didn’t want to think more about it, because the possibilities of what had happened frightened him. Instead, he looked around at the anxious faces in the livingroom, and they stopped at the pretty brunette standing beside his gamma. The way Jeremy was holding the young woman at his side made it clear what had happened.

Jonathan, seething a little with jealousy, shook his head. He was all for finding one’s mate, but he didn’t know if he wanted to if it turned out to be a non shifter. There was so much they didn’t know, so much they wouldn’t understand. He was, of course, happy for his best mates. They had both found their other half, but he couldn’t help but wonder. The pretty witch girl seemed really uncomfortable, which he mind-linked to Jeremy.

Jeremy was over the moon! He had finally found his mate. His other half, and the one holding his heart! He had always been all for the matebond, being brought up to believe in its magic. His parents had always said; “if you or your sister’s mate is a non shifter, we are moving to a pack where you will be accepted and can be together. It doesn’t matter what species you are, only that you love and respect each other.” He smiles down at the gorgeous woman at his side. She is absolutely perfect, and he knows she already owns all of him.

Apollo, his wolf, agrees. She is their everything, and he will protect her until his last breath. This he vows in Jeremy’s mind.

The mind-link from Jonathan is not surprising. Jeremy knows how much he wants to find his own mate, and that his parents also are firm believers in the matebond. But he is, none the less, sad that Jonathan seems he cannot be happy for him.

They are best friends, and have been since childhood, so it’s important to Jeremy that he approves of his mate. But he will never reject her, even if either of his beta and alpha approves of her. He would rather denounce his title.

Adriana is baffled. They mated her to a wolf. Not any wolf at that? A gamma, and not any gamma either. One of the gammas of the royal pack. She sneaks a side glace at the handsome man, claiming her to be his. And she can’t deny it. She feels the pull towards him and the sparks every time he touches her. Right now her focus is on the alpha’s and their exchange of words. It intrigued her, as it seems they have been feeling their mates from the underworld. It should be impossible. The thought of the underworld makes her uneasy. It has been a very long time now, but the memories still hunt her to this day.

She shifts closer to the furnace that is her mate, seeking his warmth and comfort. He looks at her, his eyes slightly glazed over and his expression shows concern. With his eyes, he asks if she is alright. Adriana takes his hand on instinct, wanting to consol him. It’s not him she is uncomfortable with, it’s the topic at hand.

Jason smiles. He knows how it feels to find his mate. Then he frowns when he senses the tension between his beta and gamma. Why are they on edge? He looks closer at the unknown woman, and she, too, seems to be tense. What is going on?

Ordering everyone else to get a move on the move, he mind-links Matt to go with him, Jonathan, Jeremy and the woman whose name he has yet to learn, to his new office. It’s nearly done, and they can be there in peace. Matt nods.

Matt and Jason tells them to come with them upstairs. They want a private word, and a busy livingroom with pack members going in and out all the time, is not a place for such a talk. They take the elevator up to the fifth floor. Brandon follows as a silent shadow. He knows Adriana; she is a good person, a loyal friend to Morgan and a great witch, and he will protect her is necessary.

In the office everyone takes a seat in the couch and chairs. All looking at Jason and Matt.

“First. Jeremy, if I am not mistaken, this is your mate?” Jason asks, one eyebrow lifted. Jeremy blushes and nods.

“I’m sorry I haven’t introduced myself, alpha. My name is Adriana. I am Mother Morgans, second in command.” The young woman says quietly, her head down, not daring to look anyone in the eyes. She had heard rumors that some werewolves kill other species if they find them impolite. She is not sure of her status here, yet, so she will play it safe.

Jason lifts an eyebrow at her demeanor, looking utterly bewildered between her, Jeremy and Matthew.

“Adriana, please look at me.” Jason says gently, not wanting to scare the poor thing. She looks up, her face determine and her eyes guarded.

“You are mates with one of the packs gammas. That means you will be one of our gamma females if you accept him. If you reject him, you will keep your current status. You will, of course, still be Morgan’s second in command. That will not change, no matter what you choose. Do you understand?” Matt says, just a gently. Something seems to have scared her.

“I accept the terms, and I accept Jeremy. He is a hunk. Have you seen him?” She claps her hands over her mouth. Did she just say that? The room erupts in laughter, and the atmosphere eases considerably.

They keep talking amongst each other, Jonathan mind-links Jeremy and apologies, he just worry about his best friend. Jeremy gives him a megawatt smile in return.

Just as they are about to go out to help with the last of the move, Blade and Draco both wake up with a growl. Matt and Jason feel it too. They are back. Then a mind-link roars in Matt’s head.

‘MATTHEW, COME QUICK! IT’S ABIGAIL!’ He feel the panic set in, when Galaxy whimpers in his head.

‘We’re at the new bedroom, its bad.’ Then she close of the connection and Matt’s b***d turn cold.
