Mating the Female Alpha
Chapter 61 – The battle between vampires, bears, and wolves.

Landry's POV

Tina's parents stood across the way with the bears having a standoff with the wolves before they attacked. Landry had yet to speak to them about why they didn't show up to Tina's funeral. He sent his beta to find them, but even his beta

couldn't reach them.

Now he understood why.

They had an alliance with the bears.

When did that even happen?

Bernice stood frozen as she stared at them; she was just as shocked as he was. However, they didn't have time to ponder what they were seeing. They were attacking!

The other Alphas were fighting hard against the attack, but the bears were still slightly more powerful than the wolves and they weren't going to be a match unless Bernice and Landry were there to fight with them. Without further delay, Landry and Bernice jumped into action. They fought with all their strength. Two blurs of white and dark fur meshed as they continued their fighting. Tina's parent's also put up a fair fight. They were strong and they were angry.

Landry wondered if they were angry because their daughter had died, or if they have always been this angry. He knew that her parents wanted power and were frustrated when it wasn't working out in their favor. "Alpha King," Tina's father said in a mindlink. "I hope you don't take this the wrong way. But since our only daughter died, we had to take a different route in gaining what we want."

"You never had to resort to this," Landry growls to him, fury rising through him at the thought of the betrayal. "This is foolish on your part."

A low laugh escaped from Tina's father.

"What's foolish is you being in charge. Your father was incapable of ruling this kingdom and so are you."

The mention of Landry's father made him fight that much more. He wasn't going to stand around and listen to this wolf talk badly about the former king or anybody else in his family for that matter.

They continue to fight; Landry got some blows in, shedding some blood. But he also felt a sting of claws cutting through his flesh, breaking through his fur.

"Landry!" He heard Bernice yelling from far away.

He turned to see what she was looking at and that's when he noticed they weren't the only two species fighting. Vampires.

They had seized the opportunity, while the wolves were occupied with the bears, to attack the kingdom. He could hear the screaming of the townsfolks as the vampires raided through the packs. Some vampires stayed behind to help the bears fight the wolves.

"We need to go into the city," Bernice says, breathlessly as she approaches him. Her large wolf eyes were filled with determination. It reminded Landry of the many battles they had fought together, and he was admiring her all that much more. Despite her pending doom, she was still as strong as ever. "They won't survive unless we get there."

Landry knew she was right. He nodded to her and mindlinked his Beta, including Bernice. "I'm going into the city to deal with the vampires there. Keep fighting with the others." "Yes, sir!"

Landry and Bernice ran as fast as they could in their wolf forms through the forest until they broke through the clearing. The lights of the city came into view and the screaming of the wolves became loud. He could hear how frightened everybody was; the vampires were terrorizing everybody.

Landry and Bernice fought through the vampires, shedding blood in their paths. The vampires were no match for them when they worked together.

"Landry could hear Bernice screaming to the frantic wolves, "Get to safety! Return to your homes!"

A smile tugged at his lips as she took charge to protect the kingdom. She was going to make a great Luna Queen with an attitude like that.

He quickly shook the thought from his mind though; he knew that wasn't what she wanted. At least not yet. He had more important things to think about anyways. Like getting rid of these pesty vampires and bears and defeating them once and for all.

Bears appeared in the city as well and that's when he noticed that Tina's parents had followed them.

He glanced over at Bernice who also noticed Tina's parents charging toward them. She was beginning to look more tired as time passed; maybe she wasn't as undefeatable as he thought.

"You should get out of here!" He yells to Bernice.

She looked puzzled by his words, and she shook her head.

"Have you gone crazy?" She calls back to him through the commotion of the battle. “We have almost won; the number of bears and vampires left isn't nearly as bad as it was earlier. We can do this!" She sounded so determined.

He nodded to her, trying to keep the smile off his face. He almost forgot how fun fighting alongside her was.

The number of bears and vampires began to lessen, and Landry was feeling undefeatable.

Just as Bernice stopped to catch her breath, Landry noticed something lurking in a tree. His vision was strong, and he glowered in that direction, seeing a figure climbing the tree with a bow and arrow. He knew almost right away that the figure was a vampire.

The vampire must have been a sniper.

The arrow was made of sterling silver, which would be fatal for a werewolf.

The vampire was crouching in the tree, his eyes set on Bernice.

Before Landry could think properly, he was running quickly to Bernice. She hadn't noticed it yet; she was finishing catching her breath before continuing the fight. But she noticed Landry running to her and her eyes narrowed, confused as to what he was doing.

"Landry-"

"Look out!!" He roared to her as he jumped in front of her.

Just as the vampire pulled the bow back and released the arrow, Landry flew in front of her, shielding her from the impact. She then noticed a glimmer of silver coming right toward her and she stood frozen as it plunged through Landry's chest.

"No!" She screamed to him as he fell to the ground.

Pain coursed through him as the arrow was sticking out of his chest; blood soaking into his thick fur and oozing onto the ground. His breathing grew harsh, and his body instantly weakened. For a normal werewolf, they would have been dead by now. But Landry wasn't normal. He was much stronger; he was the Alpha King.

"Landry!!" Bernice cries, falling to the ground with him. "Don't..." she pleaded. "Please don't... you can't leave me... you can't..." her voice was becoming distorted. "Please... you can't... I just fell in love with you. Don't leave me..." That was the last thing he heard before everything turned black.
