New Year's Eve.

As expected, it snowed heavily in Jarold City. Since it was impossible for Nerissa to go to the Moore Family, all of them came to our villa.

The sky was already dark by the time we had dinner. Freya's belly had grown much bigger, and she had a pretty good appetite.

She had always been talkative, so she was talking the entire time. Due to the fact that Nerissa must have been alone for a long time, she liked to listen to Freya talk.

Valerie was busy adding food to everyone's bowls, urging us to eat more.

In return, Pedro was adding food to her bowl and asking her to eat more.

During the meal, Anne repeatedly told me, "Let's go watch the fireworks later. Mommy, hurry up and eat. Let's go together."

I nodded and noticed that there was an additional piece of meat in my bowl. Looking up, I met Hendrix's gentle eyes. He smiled and said, "The tenderloin is quite tender. Have more of it."

I nodded with a smile. Freya once said that if one was happy, they had to follow their hearts' will. I agreed with her words.

I couldn't hold back the joy in my heart. I added some food to Hendrix's bowl and said with a smile, "You should eat more too!"

After that, I also added some food to other people's bowls. Valerie and Pedro glanced at each other and smiled before they turned to look at me with warm eyes.

The atmosphere was cheerful and everyone was in high spirits. How long had it been since the villa was filled with so much laughter?

After dinner, Valerie and Nerissa drove us out of the kitchen and asked us to wait for the fireworks in the yard.

In the bustling city, fireworks were only allowed during New Year's Day.

Therefore, fireworks on New Year's Eve were especially precious. Freya looked up at the snowy sky and said innocently, "I have to sincerely make a wish when the fireworks arrive later." Zachary hugged her and couldn't help smiling, "What would you like to wish for?"

After thinking for a while, Freya said, "I hope that our baby will be healthy."

The two smiled at each other, knowing well what each other were thinking.

When I looked back and saw Hendrix watching me, I couldn't help but ask, "Do you have any wishes?"

He smiled faintly, shook his head and said, "If I had the need to have one, then I wish that all of us will be well."

I felt that his wish was too perfunctory. Curling my lips, I said with dissatisfaction, "What kind of wish is that? Come on, make a proper wish."

He glanced sideways at me with a faint smile and asked me, "Do you have any wishes?"

I thought for a moment and said, "I hope that we will have an adorable baby in the future."

He stared at me for a long time with a meaningful gaze.

"Boom!" The fireworks bloomed in the sky, so beautiful that people could hardly keep their eyes open.

I subconsciously lifted my head to look at the fireworks and couldn't help but feel somewhat excited. Tugging on Hendrix's arm, I said, "Hendrix, there's fireworks, fireworks! Hurry up and take a look."

Not caring about him, I put my palms together devoutly, looked in the direction of the fireworks and wished, "I hope that we will have an adorable baby."

The elders said that there were many gods living in the northeast and northwest regions of the sky. As they were far away from each other and lonely, they always liked to catch the shooting stars that flew by. Some of these shooting stars carried the wishes of humans. If the gods pitied them, they would help make their wishes come true.

Therefore, many people would make a wish to the shooting stars, hoping that the gods could catch the particular star that they had made a wish to.

When I was a child, I would often see shooting stars in the alleys of Hovell, so I had made a lot of wishes. Perhaps I had too many wishes in my mind, thus I had already forgotten about the wishes I had made when I was a child.
