Sebastian glanced quickly in my direction and then said with a sheepish smile, "Mr. Roberts, you really care about women. I should've thought about that and sent Linda for the medicine. Anyway, Linda, please get some ointment for Miss Reid's burn. It won't be good if it scars."

Linda stood up and agreed, "That's right, I've forgotten about it. I'll do it right now."

She slipped away quickly.

I sent a smile of gratitude to Sebastian, smiled slightly. "Thank you!"

He winked. "Don't worry about it!"

When Evan came back, he handed a small bag to Rowane and said, "Miss Zanes, shall I help you apply it?"

Rowane shook her head in refusal. "There's no need. Thank you, Evan, for your help. I'm fine. We'll do it after dinner."

Linda came back shortly after. She handed me a box of ointment and said, "I'll wash my hands first and apply it for you!"

But when she left, Sebastian took the ointment from my hand, pulled out a chair, and sat down next to me. "I'll apply it for you!" What is he trying to do?

Before I could react, he had already taken out the ointment. He squeezed out some of the medicine and rested my hand on his thigh to apply the ointment on my angry, red skin.

Linda came out after washing her hands. When she saw him helping me with the medicine, she was surprised, "Mr. Milton, you..."

"What's wrong?" Sebastian raised his head and looked at her with a pair of thoughtful eyes.

"No, it's all good!" Linda quickly said as she wiped her hands dry with a napkin.

For a moment, the atmosphere was a bit strange. The order had been placed but it had not been served yet. Sebastian was tenderly and attentively applying for the medicine on my burn I stole a quick look at Hendrix. His face was frozen like ice. No one dared to say a word.

I felt as if I was sitting on pins and needles. The stares of so many people weighed me down. I couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat. Sebastian, on the other hand, looked calm and unruffled, as if he did this every day.

After he was done, he lifted my hand and blew on it. He said gently, almost too soft for the other to hear, "There shouldn't be any scars. I'll apply some ointment on you again tonight. It should heal soon. Don't get it wet. I'll help you with everything!"

His words were heavy with suggestion, and I could feel Hendrix's cold gaze burning holes into us.

Rowane quipped at the perfect time, "Does Mr. Milton live with Miss Reid?"

Sebastian nodded immediately and said, "Yes!"

The two employees of Roberts Group took those words as truth. They said, "Mr. Milton is very kind to Miss Reid. You two seem to have a good relationship. You can work together and take care of each other. It's really enviable."

For a moment, I didn't know what to say. I wanted to explain our relationship, but I was afraid that if I said something, it would seem like I was deliberately deflecting.

So I stayed silent. Fortunately, the waiter interrupted further talk on the subject by arriving to serve the dishes.

During the meal, the two employees discreetly maneuvered for Hendrix and Rowane to sit together.

Finally done with lunch, Hendrix asked Evan to send Rowane back saying he had a meeting to attend. But Evan had other things to do. So Linda said that I would help her get back.

Before I could refuse, Linda shoved me into the car.

In the car, Rowane didn't say anything. Since she didn't initiate a conversation, I kept quiet as well.

After a moment of silence, she suddenly asked, "Is it because of me that you left Mr. Roberts?"

I was stunned at her directness. Then I shook my head and smiled. "No, it has nothing to do with other people."
