Chapter 95

Nora's

POV

We both came out of the car, and without talking to each other, we entered the sitting room, which was filled with Alphas. The moment they saw Lord Maddison, they all stood to their feet. "Where is he?" Lord Maddison asked.

"In his room," Jayson responded, and we took the stairs to his room. Jayson opened the door, and we stepped in before closing the door. When I entered the room, I saw Alpha Leo lying on the bed, his head, and chest bandaged, causing my heart to clench. My wolf didn't scream "mate" to me, but deep down, I heard her whisper. She still feels this bond, which has not been totally broken. "Nora, Lord Maddison, you've arrived," Lady Christabel spoke in relief. "What is wrong with him?" I asked and tried to go to him, but Lord Maddison stopped me.

"Sit, I'll check up on him. You are not too strong," he said, referring to the mating session we just had, and indeed, he was right. Not wanting to exchange words with him, I slowly sat on the couch and fixed my gaze on the unconscious Alpha Leo.

Lord Maddison walked over to Leo's side and sat beside him. I watched him close his eyes and begin whispering words of incantation, while I closed my eyes and whispered words of prayer, hoping there would be no complications. After a few minutes, I opened my eyes and realized Lord Maddison was still seated on the bed.

"Is everything alright?" Lady Christabel asked in a worried tone.

"Yes, he is fine. Stop getting scared, Aunt. Your son is a special being; you of all people should know that," Lord Maddison responded and got up on his feet. "He will be awake in a few minutes from now," he announced, causing me to take a deep breath of relief. "Nora!" Alpha Leo whispered faintly, his eyes still closed. "Nora!" He mumbled again, and I got up on my feet and hurried to him.

"Alpha Leo, I'm here," I responded and sat on the bed. "Nora is here," I assured him and took his hands in mine, which were extremely hot.

"His hands are extremely hot," I told Lord Maddison, who nodded. "His abilities are the cause of that. Don't worry, he is fine," he responded, and I nodded my head and stared at Alpha Leo, who was constantly whispering my name.

"I'm here," I whispered and squeezed his hand. We stayed in that position for almost ten minutes before I noticed his eyelashes blinking. "I think he is waking up," I announced, and everyone moved forward to him.

I watched as he repeatedly blinked his eyes, and slowly he opened his eyes, but I was stunned when I noticed that his eyes were filled with blood. Suddenly, Lord Maddison pushed me away and held Alpha Leo, pinning him to the bed and began making incantations, while I stared, dumbfounded.

Alpha Leo struggled in Lord Maddison's grip and pushed him away. I watched as he got off from the bed, and the person closest to him was Beta Jayson. In a swift motion, he grabbed him by the neck and pushed him to the wall.

"What is happening?" I asked in fear as I watched Alpha Leo tighten his grip on Beta Jayson's neck.

"He is going insane and losing control of his abilities. We need to stop him," Lord Maddison responded and rushed to Alpha Leo. But as he got to him, Alpha Leo pushed him away with so much force that sent Lord Maddison falling to the ground with a painful grunt. "Shit!" I spoke in panic as I saw that he let go of Jayson and picked up Maddison from the ground. Out of fear, I rushed and held his arm as he lifted it up to strike Lord Maddison.

I noticed he swiftly turned to hold my gaze, and the moment our eyes met, his furious gaze softened. I noticed he furrowed his brow while still holding my gaze.

"Alpha Leo," I stammered.

"It's me, Nora," I said and saw him let go of Lord Maddison, slowly closing his eyes.

He turned his back to me, while I stared at him with fear and curiosity.

"Nora, leave this place," Lord Maddison spoke, but I ignored him. Leo would never hurt me; I could see it in his eyes.

Slowly, Alpha Leo turned back, and this time his eyes were back to their normal shade of green. He held my gaze for a moment, and without saying a word, he went back to the bed and sat on it, while his head was lowered to the ground.

As I watched Alpha Leo sit on the bed, his head lowered, I couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and concern. Relief that he seemed to have regained control, and concern for what had just happened. The room was filled with tension, and everyone stood there in silence, unsure of what to do next.

Lord Maddison, though shaken from the fall, regained his composure and approached me. "Nora, are you alright?" he asked softly, concern evident in his voice.

"Yes," I nodded.

Lady Christabel walked to Alpha Leo and squatted before him, her hands on his shoulders. "Son, are you alright?" she asked with worry.

Alpha Leo remained silent, his gaze fixed on the ground. I stepped closer, wanting to be by his side, to offer him comfort and reassurance. Lord Maddison glanced at me, signaling me not to go, but I ignored it.

"We need to figure out what triggered this," Lady Christabel spoke, her voice filled with fear. "Leo, can you tell us anything about what you felt or experienced?"

Alpha Leo slowly raised his head, and his eyes met mine once again. There was a flicker of confusion and pain in his gaze, but also a glimmer of recognition. "Nora," he whispered, his voice filled with a mix of emotions.

"Alpha Leo," I responded and tried to take a step closer, but then I noticed his eyes went to the left crook of my neck where Lord Maddison's mark was imprinted.

"Shit!" I cursed under my breath.
