Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 49

Mason's

POV

another second.

I caught sight of Lexi with Mady from afar. I wanted to approach her and speak to her but I couldn't find any reasonable excuse. I definitely didn't want to come off as clingy. That was until Mady called me over. I hurriedly headed towards them without wasting "Mason, I was just telling Lexi here that we would be going for a trip in two days," she said to me with a smile.

"Two days? Isn't that too soon? We were never informed," Lexi replied in surprise. I stood behind her silently. She hadn't made a move to glance at me since I arrived. Was she perhaps avoiding me due to what happened last night?. "No one would ever want to miss out on this opportunity. We'll be going to one of the biggest and most beautiful packs you've ever seen. Besides, who would want to miss out on days of just having fun without studying?" she asked. "How did you find out about this? Are you aware because your fathers own this school?" she inquired.

"No. How can you say that? We never got any special treatment because of our status. That's like saying we only get good grades because we are the Alpha's children. Do you think we get answers to the assessment in the comfort of our homes?" Mady inquired in an angry tone but I knew otherwise. That wasn't how she sounded when she was angry.

Lexi shook her head vehemently. "Absolutely not. I would never think about you that way. I was just being curious and I realized that was stupid of me. I'm so sorry if I made you upset..," she rambled while Mady struggled to keep a straight face.

"Stop the mean joke Mady. She's not finding it funny," I said. Lexi turned towards me sharply looking genuinely scared of making Mady upset. Why was Mady different? Why does she never get scared of making me upset? It was like she was an entirely different person whenever she was with me.

"S..she was joking?" she stuttered until she heard Mady giggling.

"I couldn't hold it in anymore. Your expression was priceless. I should have taken a picture," Mady said in between laughter. Lexi turned towards her.

"Mady, you scared me. I was beginning to think of ways on how to pacify your anger," she whined.

"I'm sorry but I couldn't let such an opportunity to tease you pass me by. And you Mason, we are twins and you are supposed to have my back. Since when have you gotten so close to her that you feel the need to protect my friend from me?" Mady asked, folding her arms in front of her. Before I could respond, Lexi beat me to it.

"He's not protecting me and we are not close. I'm sure he was just trying to annoy you," she hurriedly replied. I moved and stood beside Mady instead directly facing her. She averted her gaze from mine and stared at Mady instead. She was definitely avoiding me. "Anyway, I found out about the trip because we would be going to my uncle Xander's pack. It's a school tradition that has been going on way before we were born. My parents also went there," she explained.

"Your parents came to this school?" Lexi inquired in surprise.

Mady nodded. "And they were high school sweethearts." I mentally rolled my eyes at her words. They were the complete opposite of high school sweethearts.

"I see. That's great," she replied.

"You will go right? I'm sure the principal is going to announce it today," Mady said.

"I have no idea. I will have to get permission from my parents," she responded.

"What? You have to go, even if it means convincing your parents myself," Mady declared. She glanced at her wrist watch.

"I need to go somewhere before class. See you in class?" she inquired. Lexi nodded. Mady glanced at me before leaving. I knew what was going through her head. She never found the time to ask me multiple questions about what she witnessed last night. Mum rode with us this morning. She gave me the 'we have a lot to talk about look' before she left.

Lexi also started to leave but she stopped abruptly. "Mum asked me to give you these," she said, handing over something wrapped in brown paper to me. I took it and stared at it inquisitively.

"It's cookies. Just like the last one she packed for you the other time you came. I know you must not be used to this type of food. You can give it to me if you don't like it..."

"How do you know I'm not used to this type of food or that I don't like it?" I asked cutting her off.

"I'm sure you don't eat this type of food in the pack house," she replied.

"That's a misconception you have. I'm just like you Lexi. I have feelings like you, I breathe like you and I eat like you do. My status doesn't change a thing. Honestly, you are the only one who thinks of us that way," I explained calmly. I wasn't angry and she wasn't yelling for the first time since we met except for the tutoring sessions. We were finally having a meaningful conversation.

"That's because where I'm from is like that. The Alpha and his children are basically gods," she muttered.

I frowned. "Which pack did you come from?" I recently found out she was new to this pack. I had thought she lived here before but she didn't attend our school. I never found the right chance to ask her since we were always arguing. "Forget it. It's not important anymore," she replied.

I nodded. If she didn't want to tell me yet, it was completely fine. We weren't that close anyway. "Thank your mum for the cookies. I also enjoyed them last time. After the trip, I will come over to personally thank her," I said.

"You don't have to. It's to thank you for your hard work. I know I don't really say this often but thank you for agreeing to tutor me and not giving up no matter how hard I made it on you," she said to me with her gaze on the floor. I was so shocked that I thought I misheard. "Were you talking to me?" I asked in surprise.

"I'm not saying this because of what happened but thinking back now, I realize I acted rude and immature. You are my tutor and also my best friend's twin. I figured it would be better if we were civil towards each other," she explained. I stared at her with a raised brow. I have always tried to be civil towards her. I never started the fights.

"Don't think I'm saying this because of what happened last night. I can't even remember half of it," she declared before quickly walking away. It didn't seem like she didn't remember anything.

"Attention students, gather in the hallway. I have an important announcement to make," the principal suddenly ordered. Students began to whisper excitedly. Most of us already knew what the announcement was about. I suddenly felt someone slip their arm into mine. "What is the announcement about?" Rachel asked. I removed my hand from hers.

"The principal is about to announce it," I replied.

"Why did you remove your hand from mine? Are you shy? No one cares, they aren't even looking," she replied with a smile.

"I don't know what you think this is but it won't ever happen. I apologize for what happened yesterday. That was a mistake on my part," I said to her, starting to get irritated. I was so close to losing it.

"I knew you were going to say that but it's too late now. Besides, I'm sure you felt a connection between us last night. If you didn't, you would never have kissed me," she insisted stubbornly.

"What do you mean by it's too late?" I asked in a serious tone.

"Haven't you seen the blogs? Our faces are all over it and news about something happening between us is already speculating," she replied with a smile.

"Was this your plan all along? Diverting the reporter's attention was only a way for you to start up rumors," I said through gritted teeth clenching my hands into tight fists.

"No need to look so upset. It's all good," she declared.

"I'm telling Mady to make a post right away denying all dating rumors," I said firmly, turning around to leave.

"You can do that, but I will still be one step ahead of you," she muttered. I stopped wondering what she was talking about.

"I love you Mason! And after what happened between us last night, I find myself falling for you more!" she yelled out at the top of her voice pulling everyone's attention towards us. They all became quiet. I turned towards her angrily. "What the f**k..."

"Did you all hear that? Mason and I are in love!" she publicly declared.
