They sat on the back seat, and none of them talked. The air was melancholy.

Amber was uneasy as if sitting on a spiked rug.

Sean didn’t speak until he reached the airport.

Sitting in the terminal, Amber leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes.

Sean’s phone rang. He walked away with the phone to answer the call.

Amber opened her eyes. Cindy looked at her seriously, and whispered, “Mom, did you and dad fight again?”

“Why would you ask that?”

“You don’t talk to each other.”

Amber smiled and whispered, “No, it’s just that we cannot think of anything to say.”

“That means you’ll talk to each other later, right?”

Cindy smiled with a little excitement. Amber didn’t want to lie to Cindy. She looked at her and whispered, “Cindy, after mom is gone, you need to listen to dad!”

Cindy nodded.

“Your dad will probably get you a new school, and you can’t bully other kids.”

Cindy nodded and then Sean came back. He was holding something in his hand. After he approached, Amber found it was a carton of milk.

Amber thought it was for Cindy. However, Sean handed it directly to her, and then handed the bag in his hand to her, “I got you a sandwich.”

The flight would take almost ten hours. Amber reached out and took them.

She drank some milk before eating the sandwich. She didn’t know where Sean got it. It tasted very good.

Soon, she finished eating.

Sean took her to pick up the ticket. After a while, the plane was ready for boarding.

He sent Amber to the boarding gate with Cindy in his arms. Amber thought that it meant Sean had already accepted the fact that she was going back to Los Angeles. After Amber had her ticket checked, Sean suddenly reached out, encircled her waist and pulled her into his arms. His big palm was on her waist, and his hot temperature almost burned her skin.

Amber looked up in panic, meeting Sean’s somber gaze.

“Amber, go. I am looking forward to the game with you.”

Amber was frightened.

Sean lowered his head, looking at her with gloomy eyes, “I will make you unable to stay in Los Angeles and come back willingly.”

When she got home, Marcus was still up. Selena said that he hadn’t eaten all day and was still working overtime in the study. Amber didn’t go upstairs immediately. She gave Selena her luggage, and asked her to take the luggage upstairs. Then, she went into the kitchen, made some pumpkin porridge, filled two bowls and went upstairs with them.

Amber handed him a bowl of pumpkin porridge. The moment she lowered her head, she saw the video of Sean and Lin Man’s wedding on his computer.

Marcus realized that his tone might be a little improper. He paused for a while and said in a low voice, “Sister, don’t be angry. I just don’t think it’s worthwhile. If you love Sean, why did you come to LA in the first place?”

Amber understood what he was saying. He was blaming her for stirring up so much trouble.

Amber fell silent. She drank some porridge and went straight to her room. Amber couldn’t sleep. When she felt liking sleeping, it was dawn.

She got up, put on delicate makeup, and then went to the company.

Amber smiled and whispered, “I’m worried. Marcus offended Sean because of me. If the company closes down, you would have nowhere to show your talent.”

“My uncle called me and told me that.”

Lu Yi smiled, “Amber, Cindy is still young, and she can’t manage the company for the time being. Uncle worried that Sean might be bedridden in the near future, so he asked me to go back and prepare to manage the company.”

Tomas was getting older and had no siblings. Only Lu Yi seemed to be related by the Smith family.

Therefore, Tomas might have such an idea.

At night, Amber stayed at the company and was about to work overtime when she received a call from Tomas.

Amber thought he made the call for Sean. However, Tomas came straight to the point.

“Amber, I need to talk to you.”
