Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 775
"He went back to Ice city?"
Upon hearing this, her aunt ran out hurriedly and asked, "Why did he go back all of a sudden? Didn't we agree to stay home tonight and drive back with Selena tomorrow morning?" Emily swallowed hard and mumbled, "Maybe he has some urgent business to attend to!"
Her aunt and uncle looked at each other in dismay. The former wiped her hands on the apron and gently pulled Emily aside. She asked in a low voice, "Emily, did you quarrel with Simon?" "No..." Emily shook her head.
From the beginning to the end, she didn't see a trace of anger on Simon's face, but he didn't look lazy as usual.
As she felt a drumming in her temples, she raised her hands and pressed there, "Aunt, I'll go back to my room to change my clothes. Call me at dinner!"
She closed the door and leaned on it tiredly.
Looking at the sunset outside the window, she guessed that the black Cayenne must be on the highway at this time. She put her hand on her lower abdomen and finally forced a smile. A week passed in the blink of an eye.
Emily picked her belongings on the desk into the box one by one and stroked the edge of the desk. She couldn't help feeling slightly wistful about the place where she had been working for more than four years. It was a pity that she had given the job up now.
After she gave over charge of her office to her successor, she could leave here half a month earlier than routine because of the chief editor's favor. Besides, many colleagues came to say goodbye to her. Tina was the one who most hated to part with her. When they stood at the elevator, Tina held her hand tightly and asked, "Emily, can't you stay?"
"Tina, you know, I have no other choice right now!" Emily nodded firmly.
Tina's eyes alighted to her lower abdomen. Naturally, Tina could understand her difficulty at this time. She paused and asked, "Have you told this to Dr. Chin?"
Emily replied in a low voice, "Well..."
She remembered that day, when he had left the town, his eyes were as hard as flint.
Tina saw her eyelashes cast a shadow that covered her eyes. As an observer, all she could do was sigh deeply.
Walking out of the office building, Emily hailed a taxi at the roadside. On the way, she looked at receding scene in the streets. When they arrived at her apartment, the security guard Mr. Weil greeted her with enthusiasm as usual.
After getting the change and getting off the car, she looked up at the building in front of her.
After thinking for a few seconds, she took out her mobile phone and whispered as she took the box and went inside.
"Hello?"
After she got through, a familiar deep male voice sounded.
Emily clenched her phone tightly and said, "Simon, it's me!"
"I know!" Simon replied.
"Well..." Emily paused and said, "I called you because we have to talk about the apartment! If I go to Australia, I don't know when I will come back, so I won't live here again. I want to return it to you. Since you could transfer it to my name at that time, you can get it back now!"
After an embarrassed silence, she could not help asking, "Simon, are you listening to me?"
"Yes." Simon answered solemnly.
Emily looked at the ascending elevator and continued, "There should be a lot of my belongings in the apartment. I can't take so many things. If you think that they're useless, just throw them away!" "Have you booked the flight?" Simon asked.
Emily nodded and said, "Well, I'm leaving on day after tomorrow afternoon..."
"I have an operation in the morning that day. I can't see you onto the plane!"
"It doesn't matter!" Emily said in a hurry. She didn't want him to see her off. "Mn." Simon said in a deep voice. "May you be safe!"
"Thank you!" Emily said.
As if she suddenly thought of something, she spoke again. "Oh, by the way..."
On the line, there was a hint of imperceptible eagerness in Simon's voice. "What?"
The lift came to a halt with a loud "ding". Looking at the key in her hand, Emily thought that since she was leaving Ice city, and the apartment and its key should be returned to its original owner. So she asked, "The key to the house, should I ask Anthea to take it to you or send it to your office?"
Anthea, who came back from the town to Ice city, had already taken up a position as a chief physician of the general surgery department in the private hospital.
On the other side of the line, after a few seconds of silence, he indifferently threw out a sentence, "Whatever you decide, it's okay by me!"
"Then... I'll do whatever I want!"
Emily bit her lip. "Goodbye?"
"Goodbye!" Simon replied in a bad mood.
Emily thought he would have hung up the phone as early as he did before, but he hadn't. Maybe he was waiting for her to hang up first. She held her breath for two seconds before she ended the call slowly. The phone screen gradually blacked out.
In the black Cayenne parked in front of the villa, Simon rested an arm on the window, with a cigarette in his hand. However, he still gazed at the cell phone in his right hand.
A military jeep drove into the yard. After the door was opened, a tall and strong man jumped out of it and kicked the tire of the Cayenne with his military boot. "Simon, why don't you get in when you get home? Are you going to stare at your phone and stand here the whole night?"
Simon looked up from the phone and asked in surprise, "Brother, you're back!"
"Can't I? Must I stay in the army all year round?" Adam took out a cigarette from nowhere. He put it in his mouth, took out a lighter, and lit it up. Then he lifted his chin slightly and reminded, "You may burn your hand!"
Hearing this, Simon flicked the cigarette.
It was almost burnt down. If it weren't for Adam's reminder, he wouldn't have felt the burning pain on his skin. He twitched his mouth, switched off the car, and got out of it. He said lazily, "It's just something I wasn't expecting. You seem to go back home more frequently these days. How strange!"
There was a strange look on Adam's face, as he said seriously, "Cut the crap. Come in!"
They entered the villa side by side. A servant heard the sound and respectfully walked up to hand them slippers and reported, "Adam, Simon, Mr. Chin asked you to go to the study. Wilson is inside!"
"Got it!" The two of them said at the same time.
They walked on the stairs to the second floor.
As they approached, they suddenly heard the breaking sound of a cup hitting against the wall.
They looked at each other speechlessly. When Simon stretched out his hand and pushed the door open, he saw Wilson, dressed in a suit, bowed his head and stood at attention in front of the desk, while Bellamy seemed to have just returned from the military region. He wore his army uniform, which was usually hung on the armoire, and his military cap was on the table.
When Bellamy glared at him, he angrily stretched out for the second teacup. "Wilson, tell me why you canceled your wedding. The scandal has created a sensation!"
