” So let me get this right , you want us to jump into that water. Which could or could not kill us ? Depending if we have any bad intention towards Anthea or the magic ? ” Samuel asked looking at us like we were out of our minds. Anthea looked a nervous wreck and Shira just looked like Shira always looked , unbothered about any dramatics. ” Pretty much , we want to tell you everything we know , but before we can, you have to do that. I had to do it. So did Anthea. If you have nothing bad to hide there should be no problem “, I shrugged.

He looked at Peter. I think, for back up, that this was stupid. But Peter was just staring at the pool. When Peter doesn’t even glance at him, he throws his hands up in the air and scoffs. ” What is that down there at the bottom ?” Peter eventually asked , shocking I think me , Anthea and Shira. Shira steps forward. ” We can tell you once you have passed the test. Look, I know this is a tough decision. But it really shouldn’t be. If you don’t jump in, you have stuff to hide. If you do great, we have more people to plot with and get all of this finished. I have been guarding this way too long , I want to get my a*s off of this island and be wherever Sianna is. A wolf sounds like a nice change of pace. “

I looked at her weirdly , since when was that a thing ? That she would basically be our third wheel. She sees my expression and laughs ” What did you think everyone on the island would do ? Sianna has been our protector for years, she’s family. Her being back in some sort of sense is enough for everyone to follow Anthea. Plus, we were all getting fed up with the island. I have had to convince people not to leave for years. We didn’t stay and let Rion be our Alpha for him. They trusted me , I couldn’t leave because of all of this. Why do you think your mum and dad have been getting them visions ? I looked into your pack , saw how, let’s say, old-fashioned it was. You all need to be ready for change , because where ever Anthea is , trust me, more paranormals will come for help. It is who she is , who she was meant to be. Your pack is about to become very multi-cultural with all different paranormals. Either that or you two will need to leave it. This isn’t a threat from me. It would be where Anthea would want to be. Back in Sianna’s early days of Sianna being on this planet, she ran from that responsibility and it didn’t work. In all honesty, it pissed me off that she was basically telling Anthea who she had to be. Like they had chosen her life for her. ” That’s a bit f****d up is it not ? ” I snapped. ” That Sianna chose her , not the other way around and now your basically saying that she has to be this guardian to you all. That because she has this magic, she has to protect all of you and any more that comes. Does she not get that choice ? ” Shira’s eyes narrowed. ” Like her being Luna in your pack , does she have that choice ? Or will you happily step back from Alpha ? What pisses you off here Enzo , I mean really pisses you off ? The fact I said your pack would change , that we would all follow Anthea ? ” She was grating on my last f*****g nerve now.

All I am saying is , she didn’t want this magic at first , but she took it to save everyone from what we was told would be dangerous for millions. Now your saying after she does all of that unselfishly , you will all just look at her and expect her to be your leader. I just want to know where her choice is in all of this ? And the fact you speak for her like you know her. She is Anthea, not Sianna. Yea, she has Sianna in her but don’t compare them. This is Anthea’s life, not Sianna’s. She doesn’t have to pick up where Sianna left off if she doesn’t want to ” Shira’s face dropped.

Her smug look from seconds earlier turning to one of , it was hard to read. Guilt maybe. A loud splashing drew my attention away from mine and Shira’s fight. I looked at the water to see my sister resurfacing. Peter followed on , when he came up he looked pissed as hell at her. ” ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR f*****g MIND ABI ” he roared. I waited , my eyes searching the pool and when nothing happened I breathed a sigh of relief. Peter had dragged my sister to him and was murmuring quietly. But she was definitely getting a telling off for them for not discussing her choosing to jump into the death water.

I glanced up at Samuel and Lorna. They were both staring at Peter and Abi wide-eyed. Lorna took a deep breath. ” Our turn ” she said shakily. I felt Anthea’s anxiety rise through our link. Shira, for once, didn’t look so calm and collected. She looked a bit distraught. Good was all I could say , it was about time Anthea had a say in her life. Samuel looked at his mate and nodded his head. ” This is f*****g stupid , she’s my sister. I came to a goddam unknown island to help protect her. What if this thing kills me because I was an a*s to her growing up “, he waved at the water.

” Sianna cast the spell on it and she says it won’t. It kills those with evil intent , like real evil. Those that want to kill me or steal the magic ” she stated shakily. Throwing my hand over her shoulders, I pulled her tightly to me. Offering her support. Samuel looked at Anthea and nodded, his jaw tight. ” You know I’m sorry for how I was to you, right ? I know I should have said it before now. Before, I faced a death pool. But I’m a d**k , I love you and I should have told you that, instead of being scared of being treated differently by mum , dad and the rest of the pack. I should have been there for you like Peter was. I know Timothy is rethinking everything too. Enzo is right , it is time for you to start choosing your own life, Ani.Whatever you choose, you have my support. “

I felt a sob rip through Anthea’s body and felt her trembling as her brother and Lorna got ready to jump in the water. ” It’s OK baby ” Samuel smiled at his mate as she stared at the water like it was about to jump up and kill her already. ” With me on three OK ” he murmured to her. He counted softly , his hand squeezing hers, and when he got to three I think he jumped for both of them. His weight pulled her in too. Anthea stiffened in my arms as their bodies hit the water.

And I felt her body sag with relief when they both came back up and nothing happened. They all started laughing in the pool and flicking water at one another. Me and Anthea laughed along with them , Shira managed a small smile at their antics. But she still very much looked a bit broken. We made quick work of telling them the whole story once they got out. Everything. Samule had the same thought I had. Just take the magic now and nuke the bitches. But we had to be sure first. And figure out the rest before we can. Like what their plans had been once they got the magic. Or make sure we were prepared so they couldn’t steal the magic after we took it out of its security.

Either way, it had to stay there for now. We were quick to go back to the castle. Shira said the spell she cast wouldn’t keep them down for long. She waited until they fell asleep so they wouldn’t see a difference, just wake up from their slumber. The spell was more just there to keep them asleep and stop them sensing any magic being used. She had to tap into the little magic of Sianna’s. She had to do it. As well as the little magic Anthea had. It felt good though that we were starting to build an army around us, a group of people we could trust. More minds to help us. What I didn’t like was we were pretty much still floundering. We had no clear direction of what or when we would do anything.

Shira had been quiet since my tongue lashing to her. We needed to address that , we couldn’t be divided and she was pretty much the one with all the answers and running the show. But she also needed to accept she wasn’t alone in this either anymore. Her outing what we knew to them earlier without talking to us , she could’t do that again. We need to do this as a team now. I just wish that team had the one guy I trusted as much as I trusted Anthea. The quicker we get my boy back the better. The only issue now would be finding places to talk in secret while at this freezing a*s castle. My plan was to wrap the hell up here quickly. Shira obviously wanted us here for a reason though , maybe more than what she was letting on. When we got back and Anthea went to our room , I followed her. I couldn’t work with someone and trust them on half truths and half plans. I wasn’t one to let things fester either , face it head on get s**t sorted.
