Chapter 33

Kiefer POV

“What is this? I ask as I stared at the dead body in front my eyes. I had just reached the location my tracker called me to. As I got there, I notice they were standing next to a body of a male.

My two trackers Marco and Haden glance at each other. Marco has brown hair and black eyes whiles Haden had blond hair and blue eyes.

“We pick up an unknown scent and follow it to the out skirts of the city. It led us to this.” Marco step forward saying.

I nod my head at him as I stare at the body. I stoop down to exam it.

“What do you think?” Max ask as he and the others caught up to me.

On my way here I had sense Max and the others were following me and then I got a mind link from Brian saying that they were on their way to help. I kept running after that knowing they will catch up soon.

“He could be the one but look like someone got to him before I do.” I said balling my hand into fist. I wanted to be the one to take him out after we got information from him.

“But who did it and why?” Ryan asks.

“That we do not know.” I said getting up. “Have you found anything on him?” I ask.

“Nothing important but a crumble paper in his pocket it has a name and number on it.” Haden answers

“Do not rule it out just yet, I may lead us to something let me see it.” I said as I stretch out my hand.

“Yes Alpha.” He said as he takes out a paper from his pants and handed me it. I stared at the crumble paper in my hand for a few seconds and then I start to unravel it. I head a sound in the bush.

“Go check that out” I said as I continue to unravel the crumble paper.

“We will go.” Ryan and Jace offer as they head off in the direction of the sound.

I finally open the paper and I froze staring at it. My heart skips a beat and I began to have cold sweat.

“Kiefer what’s the matter? Jax ask as he took a step closer to me. his face now held worry

I did not say anything I just kept staring at the paper.

Taking a closer step closer to me Max too the paper out my hand and read the name out loud. “Jax.” He said and I stared at him. Max eyes open wide as realization dawn on him.

“How could that be possible?” he asks confusion evidence on his face.

Shaking my head, I answer. “I don’t know.” It’s not possible for him to be alive, his body was confirmed.

“Maybe he could be a different Jax.” Max said. “I mean what are the coincidence?” he stares at me seriously, but his eyes tell he was unsure.

“Caught him,” Jace said as he and Ryan return with a rugged guy struggling. His hand behind his back as Jace held on tightly on it.

I stared at them.

“If you only try to shift, we will rip your head off.” Ryan growled threatening.

“Tell us why you were spying on us?” Max rush forward grabbing him by his throat.

The guys laughed sinisterly. “You guys are idiot. You don’t know what’s in store for you.” He said.

Max punched him causing his mouth to burst. He spits out b***d and grinned. His eyes rove about before it landed on me. “Tell me whose Jax.” Max asks angry.

The guy just laughed completely ignoring Max question. Max punched him again this time harder, the guy spits out a tooth. He looked at me again and grinned

“A pretty little this isn’t she.” He said still grinning at me. “I always wonder why he would be so obsessed with her especially know that she is pregnant.”

My heart stopped at his words. He’s talking about my mate. I squeeze his neck tightly. “What do you mean by that?” I ask growling at him, my wolf begging to come out to rip his head off. How dear he talks about my mate like that. I can tell my eyes were flickering between my regular hazels to pitch black.

He coughed ginning his bloody grin. “I think you should call your mate Alpha.”

My hand let go of his neck.

*Alpha the pack is being attack* one of my guard minds linked me.

*What! * I shouted

I looked at the guys now on the ground and my mind immediate when to my mate.

*Must protect mate* my wolf said.

*I’ll be there, protect your Luna at all cause. * I order disconnecting.

I turned to the others “We need to go, the pack is under attack.” I balled my hand in to fist. “This was all part of their plan.” I curse under my breath. “We need to hurry and bring him along.”

I shifted midway letting my wolf take over. Adrenaline pumping through my vain as I race through the forest, towards my pack. I kept thinking Jax is alive and my mind filled with my mate. She’s in danger and it’s all my fault.

Faster I thought as I push myself more, I need to hurry. If anything, happen to her I don’t think I can ever forgive myself.

*Brian the pack is under attack. You need to hurry get there* I mind linked.

I cut off not caring for his reply.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my abdomen causing me to stumble. It’s my mate I can feel her pain through our bond. *Brella* I called through our mind link, no answer. I panic.

*Brella* I called more urgently.

*Kiefer* he beautiful voice answer

Thank god.

*Brella are you ok, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. What happen? *

*I’m ok, I’m just having contractions. *

*Contractions? are the babies coming? * I ask concern

*I am not sure. * she replies. *Kiefer you need to hurry the pack-*

*I know baby, I’m on my way. * I paused *Listen me Brella, there is a possibility Jax is alive. *

*Jax-* she started but stop

*Brella* I called but no replay. *Brella* I called again but still no reply.

Shit! I cursed out loud as I pick up pace. I need to get there faster.
