Chapter 40

Kiefer POV

Brian launched forward shifting midair into his brownish gray hair wolf.

Cain shifted just as Brian landed on him the two began to scuffle and nip at each other.

“Get her out of here.” I shouted at Max as I run towards Jax as he shift into his gray wolf. I shifted into my huge black wolf. I growl at him baring my canines as he does the same to me.

We stood there staring each other down.

Max ran to his sister as he reaches her Jax turn toward them taking his eyes off me he bare his canines at them ready to nip at them.

I let my wolf take over and charge toward him, I headbutt him throwing my whole weight into it. He yelped as he went rolling a few feet away.

I look down at Max and he scoop up my mate in his arms. I stared at my mate, sweats still ran down her forehead and her face were frown up in pain. I lower my head and nuzzle her with my nose, and I felt the familiar spark. She didn’t react.

Raising up his head Max look at me. I know what he was saying with his eyes, so I nod my head at him. “Hold on Sis.” He said as he began running with my mate in his arms.

*Protect them. * I order through mind link

I turn my attention back to Jax as he got up growling at me. his eyes fell behind me as he sees my mate being carry away. Angry he howled and the rouges behind him launch forward to attack.

*Attack* I mind linked to my remaining pack members.

From the side of my eyes Ryan and Jace shifted into their wolf. Ryan wolf a golden-brown whiles Jace wolf a sand brown with patches of black. They launched on two rouges that were heading towards them.

Brian was still fighting Cain. Thou Cain was one of my best fighters Brian is still stronger than him and he fail to accept that.

I turn my head away from them as I focus on Jax as my pack fought of the rouges. He was standing there straight ahead of me. He looked like he was waiting for me. I ran towards him, just as I was about to reach him a dirt brown rouge jumped on me, he bit into my back leg. I yelped as I turn around and clam my teeth by his neck. I rip him off me and sink my canine into his neck. He stopped squirming.

Raising up Jax still stood there waiting. I stalked towards him and another rouge appear this one a little bigger with a scar on his face.

I stopped walking as he stood in front of me baring his canine ready to attack. I growled at him. Fine if I must kill you to get to him then I’ll gladly. I said to myself. He ran toward me. I couch down ready to spring my attack, but Ryan wolf appear out of no where attacking the rouge in front of me to the ground. They nip and bit at each other.

Distracted Jax wolf attacks me to the grown and I struggle to get him off me. He presses his weight on me as he nip at me aiming for my neck. I kept dodging. I raise my right paw and slap him my claw digging into him. He jumps off shaking his head from the impact of my hit.

Rolling over I got up on my fours.

We circle each other growling and nipping trying to figure out each other weaknesses.

Time to end I thought as I make a go for his back leg, he had no time to react and I sink my teeth in his leg. He howls in pain as he desperately tries to get me off. I let go and he limped backing away, turning around he made a dash to the forest.

You’re not getting away this time. I mentally said as I chased after him, I catch up because of his now injure leg. As I get closer, I push my body into him, he fell. I let my wolf completely take over this time as jump on top of him. He was struggling to get me off, my wolf pressed his paw on he heads stopping his head from moving and leaving his neck bare. Baring his canine my wolf bit down into his neck.

Jax howled as he struggles ferociously trying to break free but my wolf kept his grip and bit harder as the sound of a bone crack. His struggle slowed and then stopped completely. My wolf let go and I regain control.

I stare at Jax now dead body, lowering my head I nudge his body to make sure he’s dead. No response. Giving his body one last look I race back to where the others were fighting as I got there, I notice most of the rouges had already been killed, we we’re winning.

Brian wolf came towards me and I looked behind to see he already killed Cain.

*Alpha* he said. *Is he? *

*Yes* I answer knowing very well he’s asking if Jax is dead.

*Alpha* Haden called as he emerges from the forest with Kristy behind him.

Brian and Jace run towards her and nuzzle her as soon as they get to her.

“I’m ok.” She said as she patted their heads.

Ryan went behind a tree and Jace follow they shifted and return, both held worry expression on their faces as they pulled her into an affectionate hug.

“Really I’m fine thanks to Brella.” She said

Mate my wolf perk up at the mention of our mate.

*we need to get to her* he urges.

*I know but the others. * I said as look around me they were still a few more rouges to get rid of.

*Go, we got this. * Brian said.

I looked at him.

*Luna needs you now more than ever. Now go, we got this Alpha. *

*Thanks* I said as I nod my head at him.

Turning around I sprint off in the direction of my mate. I let my wolf take over increasing my speed.
