Rejected, My Jaded Love
Episode 29

I want to hit the snooze button so bad, but I am not going to start my day off wrong. I am glad I had gotten my clothes (workout and school) ready last night as I am not totally awake this morning.

Brax greets me with a high five and laughs at me for still stumbling around on the training field. I was totally half asleep still. I start my five-mile run and by the second mile I am awake and picking up my pace. I am really starting to enjoy running as I think better when I am running and I just let my mind wander and make plans, this is just my third day of training, but I really think running, for me, is my favorite part of the cardio workout. I get done with the first 20 people and am amazed at how quickly my body is changing, my first day, I was dead last, and I threw up, yesterday I was kind of in the middle, and today I am further up again.

I start the drills that Brax had set up and focus on my form with each one. I remember how he told me to stand, and what muscles it will be training. I don’t see any of my friends out here this morning, but it is the first day of school, and they probably just wanted to skip it today, truth be told they can, and I really can’t.

I get done and tell Brax I will see him sometime between 3 and 330 to train the Elite training session and he calls after me “See you then, great job today, Jade, You, are getting stronger and faster every day”.

I head straight upstairs and go to take my shower I really enjoy all the nice bath soaps and bath salts that they have here, and I take a nice long shower. I go ahead and blow-dry my hair as we all planned to meet in the dining room around 7 for breakfast before we go to school. I make it there by 705 and immediately grab an egg white omelet with turkey, spinach, and cheese, a protein yogurt, and an apple as well as two bottles of water as I was going to slip one into my backpack. I think

I need to get myself a lunchbox so that I can pack a healthier option in it if they don’t have healthy options at school, but I am going to assume that they do, and if not, I will get a lunchbox sometime this week. Dixon was already down and waved me over. He said, “I should have known that you would be the first one down. I am sure that they are doing their hair and makeup still”.

“Hey, I did my hair,” I said, reaching up to touch the bun on top of my head.

“Sorry, I meant curling it, and or straightening it, whatever irons you girls like to use. I was going to remind them to just put it up as the top is off your Jeep and they are all going to get windblown and knots in their hair, but I think it will be funnier for them to find that out on their own. They will need to invest in some baseball caps.” Dixon says and starts laughing. “Oh yea, Shotgun” and then starts laughing harder. “My legs are long, so I am going to need to sit in the front with you if that is ok”.

“It is fine with me, I don’t have a problem with it, they are shorter than us and will fit in the backseat better. You are right, they are going to need baseball caps to try to protect their hair, I guess I can pull the Jeep up to the front if they need to run upstairs and get some brushes or combs to brush out their hair when we get there. I don’t have a baseball cap, but I guess I need to get one too, so my ponytail doesn’t get knotted up.” I tell him.

At 715 the girls come down together and go to grab some food. When they get to the table I mention the top being off my Jeep and tell them they may need to grab a brush before we leave. They all three g***n and Bree says “Crap, I forgot about that, our hair is going to be ruined. I don’t think I own a baseball cap”.

Dixon looks over at me and folds his lips together to keep from saying anything, I know I kind of ruined his fun with the girls all potentially looking like Cousin It from the Addams family by the time we get to school. The girls eat quick and run up to see if they can find some baseball caps or put their hair up in a clip or something until we can get to school and them fix it again.

Dixon and I go and get in my Jeep and pull around to the front and he starts admiring my console and changing the stations around and setting some as saved for me while we wait. At 732, they all come running out the door and Dixon starts yelling “Hey, those are my baseball caps, you are not supposed to go in my room”.

Bree hops into the backseat and slides over as she says “I didn’t, mom did. She said she would get all of us girls baseball caps today when she went out shopping, so quit whining, it is only for today”.

Dixon frowns at her and then looks out the dash and says, “Let’s get going, I know you wanted to get there early for your schedules and to see where your lockers are. I will stay with you and help you three out. The school is pretty big, and it has humans and werewolves in it”.

We make good time and make it to school at 0745. We all head into the Office, and I approach the secretary to ask for my, Nicole, and Jessica’s schedules. The Secretary, Rita Collins, is also a wolf and was a little heavy-set, around 35 years old with blonde hair and light blue eyes. She was very nice and helpful, giving us clear instructions and telling me a little about my AP teachers. She gives us our locker information and a map of the school. The school is a two-story school, and it seems like my AP classes are all going to be upstairs. I won’t have any classes with my friends, and that is frustrating. We do all have second lunch period, so we can all eat together in the cafeteria from 1130 to 1220, before the last 2 classes of the day. I am thankful for the map and Dixon said he still had 5 minutes before the first bell, so he took me upstairs and showed me the layout, as compared to the map, as it was slightly off, with a few things misnumbered as it was an outdate map, he showed me where all five of my classes were before yelling “Bye, have a good day Jade, and going back downstairs”.

I head into my first class and stop at the teacher’s desk to introduce myself.

My classes were in the following order, and I only had to come down for my lunch period, my schedule was: AP English, AP Science, Trigonometry, Lunch, AP Computer Science, and AP World History.

My morning passed quickly, and I was excited to meet my friends for lunch in the cafeteria, and I got there first and went to see what the selection for lunch was, and to see if there were any healthy selections. As I went down the line, I see that they had several large and colorful salads, and I could make that work for me. I was happy that I could add toppings to it such as sliced veggies, like carrots, celery, and even some fruits, as well as lean meats because, well we’re werewolves and we need it. The salads all came with tomatoes, cucumbers, and different colored bell peppers. I paid for my salad with turkey on top and told the lady I only needed 1 dressing packet, not both, I remembered I had my water bottle in my backpack already, so I didn’t need water and turned around to look for a place to sit.

I see a Junior blocking my path, she kept moving to get in my way and keep me from passing her. She had two other girls with her. She opened her mouth and in a shrill voice said, “Not so tough without your brothers with you, huh?”
