Rejected, My Jaded Love -
Episode 31
My week passes in a blur, I get up, go to cardio training, grab a shower, grab breakfast, head to school, return home, do one-on-one training with Brax, shower, homework, dinner, and sleep. And then repeat. Three times this week I was able to run the perimeter of the pack lands and check on the patrols with Mason, and he cannot believe how fast I am, especially since I just got my wolf last Friday. He told me that I am probably burning more calories faster due to being a white wolf because that is the main reason for my speed anyway. Mason also told me that he would start doing strength training with me sooner than he thought as he can work with me three nights a week, or I will get with my dad this weekend and find out if he thinks that is the reason or not.
The girls decided that since my Jeep provided hair “issues” on Monday that we will all take turns driving to school. Dixon has driven us in the SUV, and Bree and Nicole, have driven their cars the other two days. We decided that I would be driving us on the weekends, as we weren’t as put together on the weekend, and of course, we would be taking it to Lake this summer. I will be driving myself today as I am leaving straight from school to go to the Dark Moon pack after school.
I am excited to get the school day over with and hit the road. I already have their address in my Google Maps, and I know exactly how I will be getting there from here, so I am not worried at all. It will be my first long trip alone and I am kind of excited about it. My duffle is already in my storage area, my dad had them install a Cargo security enclosure in the back of my jeep, as the top was off, so no one could just grab stuff from the back of my Jeep, it locks so it is secure. It doesn’t rain much here, so I don’t have to worry about putting the top on until it is under 40 degrees as we wolves run hot anyway.
I have waited to come down for lunch and met my group in the hallway before entering the cafeteria, so I haven’t had any more run-ins with Brittany or her little friends since Monday and I am glad of it.
I did tell Brax what had happened with Brittany when we had our first one-on-one training Monday afternoon, and in doing so mentioned the incident in the dining room with my brothers and Ashley and Claire. Brax frowned and said that he would be watching our interactions, and to be watchful around Ashley, as she is bad news, and she did want to be Luna of the pack. He said he didn’t think Asher would be dumb enough to make her Luna, but he also didn’t think that Asher would have been dumb enough to sleep with her either. He told me to watch my back and that he was glad that I was not going to be here this weekend either, so maybe it will blow over.
I have been really pushing myself this week and during the morning cardio sessions, I have been running extra laps to make it 8 miles, instead of 5, each morning. Brax noticed that I was putting in the extra effort and he started training me harder in our one-on-ones. I can see more development and new changes in my muscles and that my waist is physically smaller. I will be running by Goodwill this weekend while I visit my family. I just need new jeans, even with the belts on you can tell that they are too big on me. I have been following Braxton’s instructions to a T. He had to reach out to a personal trainer friend of his as we, being wolves, don’t usually need to lose weight, and that is where he got the diet from. The personal trainer is a wolf as well, and he made the diet protein strong for me so I would continue to keep building muscle, which in turn lets me burn at a higher rate. I had already lost another 10 lbs. since I weighed in on Monday, so I am making real changes quickly. Mason and Brax are amazed at how fast I am gaining definition and losing weight.
I head into the hallway outside the cafeteria and head to the doors to meet my friends, but I have gotten there first, I forgot to wait the 5 minutes before coming down, as I was just focused on getting out of town this afternoon. I see Brittany and her friends walking my way, so I duck into the women’s restroom near the cafeteria, I don’t want anything ruining my day. I hope they didn’t see me. They came in after me and wait outside my stall. I can’t wait in here forever, so I text Nicole where I was. Three minutes later, I hear the door hit the wall and Bree calls out “Jade, are you in here? It is time for lunch, let’s roll”. She waits at the door while I come out and wash my hands, having to walk around them to get to the sinks. I have never gotten into a physical fight. I have always used my brain or just submitted to get out of altercations. I am stronger now, but I am not confident enough to want to get into a fight with anyone. I look back at Brittany and she gives me a look and thins her lips out as I exit the bathroom.
I don’t know what her problem is, I just want to be left alone, and do my own thing. Why is she so hell-bent on making my life rough?
I enter the cafeteria and get in line with my friends and decide that today I would get a grilled chicken breast and a small side salad. I haven’t been as hungry as I used to be lately with all the changes in my diet, and that has allowed me to make better choices. I am a little stressed about being followed into the restroom, and I got out my water bottle and drank some of it.
“What happened Jade?” Nicole asks me.
“I don’t know, Brittany saw me and followed me into the restroom. She, and her friends, were waiting for me to come out, so I texted you. She didn’t say why she followed me in, but they weren’t there to use the facilities.” I told her.
“Bree is the strongest of all of us girls, so she wanted to come in and get you, just in case, she waved us on that she had it, so we came to get in line” I looked at Bree and nodded to her. “Thank you! They were making me nervous” I told Bree.
Bree nods and says “Anytime Jade, but you might want to have Brax start working on your hand to hand now, you have got to learn to spar, and then you won’t worry about those girls again. They are mouthy and mean, but they aren’t fighters. When you become more confident in your abilities, you won’t give them another thought. Now, Ashley is a problem, and she has been an elite warrior for 5 years. She will be able to fight, so you really need to start sparring ASAP, because you will be seeing her in about a week, and she holds grudges”.
“Ok, I will mention it. I know I need to learn to fight, I am just nervous because I haven’t ever fought before. I am willing to learn though, Eric and Jeremy showing up last Saturday scared the crap out of me and I worry about being alone
“Jade, if it is ok with you. I know that Bree, Nicole, and I can start sparring with you. It can only help you, and you will need to be able to protect yourself against men too, so you can start with them and then move up to me, then Brax and Mason to learn how to fight. You won’t let the mouthy princess get to you after that. You are learning quickly, and Brax says you are a natural-born fighter” Dixon tells me.
“Sure Dixon, we can start doing that next week,” I tell him. “That is an excellent idea”. I like that I will get to see even more of my friends and get to be better at defending myself.
