Episode 87

Asher’s Perspective

Finally, Eric is stepping out of the gate. He has been stalling us since he arrived at the gate about 20 minutes ago. I want this over and done with so I can go deal with Ashley and dispense her sentence swiftly, and then go see my love, Jade. I want her two biggest tormentors dealt with before I go and see her. I want everyone who has threatened to do her harm, to be gone, done, dealt with, and no more worries for Jade to be attacked or killed anymore.

I want her to come back to Stone Moon and stay with me and agree to be my mate, and at least let me mark her. We can wait with the mating until later.

“Stop, Asher, focus on Eric. Let’s take cure of him and get this finished and leave this place. You are thinking of our mate, and I love her too, but we are in a fight to the death, you need to focus on the fight and not your mate right now” Aries my wolf tells me, and he is right. Eric was about to make his first blow and it might have connected, except Aries snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Nice try, Eric. Maybe you’ll land a blow” I smirk at him and try to get him to just strike out at me or make a run on me.

It works he comes running at me and tries to punch me in my face, I side-step the punch and do a spinning back kick which lands on his back and knocks him to the ground. I then prepare for his next move and put all my weight on my back leg as I get ready to defend myself again. Eric is getting up very slowly, I didn’t kick him that hard, I am just testing the water right now. Now I am starting to get worried. I had my back to the guard shack, and I hear Tate tell me to drop to the ground. I heard several shots ring out through the air.

I do a check of my body to see if I am feeling any pain, but I don’t feel anything right now. No pain or problems, am I paralyzed? What is going on?

I look up at Tate and see that he had one of his handguns out and trained on the fence behind me still. I see he is mind linking right now, so I just stay down.

Eric’s standing back up and looking over at me, and I realize that he gave the command for them to shoot at me and I am furious. I am going to kill him, right freaking now. He is such an a*****e, and the world will be a better place without him.

I get a mind link from Tate telling me I can get up and finish the fight with Eric, that all 4 of the shooters for the Howling Wolf pack have been taken out, by his men and that everyone but the guards working the gate are now dead on the other side of the gate. It is just Eric that we need to take care of now. I don’t know if Eric realizes that he is the last one left, but I know he is going to be upset when he finds out that he is, all he has to do is glance over because I see his dad laying on the ground about 5 feet inside of the gate.

“Alright, Eric, let’s finish this now”. I tell him as I get back into position and keep my weight balanced as I do not know how he is going to attack, only that he will be attacking me.

Eric’s Perspective

Well, I guess Gamma Harry and my men didn’t get the job done. Asher is fine, not a mark on him. I don’t know how they missed him. I heard the shots ring out. I don’t know what happened. The guys who are hidden out in front of the gate couldn’t have taken them out as my men were right against the wall and they couldn’t even see them to be able to shoot at them. I get up slowly as I wait to see if Asher may have been shot like in the leg and I just couldn’t see it yet. Nope, no b***d or anything, I don’t know what in the hell is going on right now. I attempt to mind mink dad’s Beta Harry, with no response. I try to mind link my dad, and no response. I cannot link with anyone; mom, Kyle, Jeremy, or any of my sharpshooters that I called in. I then mind link one of the guards at the gate “Charlie what the hell just happened; I can’t get ahold of anyone?”.

“Everyone at the gate is down all shot. They are all dead. We never saw anyone; I don’t know where the shooters are” Charlie replies back.

I hear Asher say, “Alright Eric, let’s finish this now”

Shit, this is not good. I am about to die too I think to myself. I glance over to the gate and see my father laying there. I cry out in anguish and glance over and see my mother down as well. Everyone who is important to me is gone now, well, except my sister. Thank the Goddess she was out of town for that debate thing with the Beta’s family or she might be dead now too, that would have broken my heart as she is a truly good person. I straighten up fully and prepare to finish this fight. I have nothing left as I realize that Tyler is right, I am despicable, and not fit to lead this pack. I am a liar and a bully, I only care about myself and I put this whole pack in jeopardy because I wanted to take Jade against her will. I deserve every bit of this. I tried to take another man’s mate, I tried to talk my best friend into r****g Jade. I am disgusting. I am going to either fight Asher to the death or ask to get shot as my parents had been. Tyler and Asher were right I do not deserve to lead this pack and it would have only gone downhill with me and Danica running it. It would not have lasted to get to my heir’s. I am just too spoiled and selfish, I would not have done a good job and even with Jade providing me strong pups, I would have been a horrible mate by cheating on her with Danica, and anyone else that caught my eye, I need to give them a message to give to Jade. It won’t mean much to her, but I still want to do it.

“Would you please tell Jade that I am so sorry for putting her through everything that she went through both here and at Lake Havasu. I was wrong to just want to take her and force mate her, I just never realized how beautiful she was until we went on our date and couldn’t let it go after that. I am sorry that it had to lead to this for me to realize how much I did wrong to Jade. I allowed others to pick on her because her parents told us that it was ok to do so, instead of protecting her as one of our own. We were the main bullies, you got us all, anyone else in the group didn’t really participate in it but weren’t strong enough to stop us from doing it, as they didn’t want Danica or Sophia on them. You mentioned that we had stolen from her, who took her money? I will see if I can fix that as my last act” Eric calls out to us.

Tyler calls out about how Sylvia took the money to raise Jade, and then Jade’s money too, and that it totals a million dollars. I will have Beta Williams handle it as I will mind link him now and tell him that I am doing my last act and Alpha Commanding Sylvia Devoe to pay Jade back a million dollars. He can also Alpha Command her too as he will be acting Alpha when I am gone. I send him the message, and then I contact Gamma female Sylvia.

“Sylvia, this is Eric Taylor. I am acting Alpha at this time as we have been attacked by the Dark Moon and Stone Moon packs over acts against, Jade Devoe. It has been brought to my attention that you took a million dollars from money that was to be put aside for her education and living expenses for her from when she turns 18. I was told that you spent the first million that you were supposed to raise Jade with and didn’t use the money on her at all. Then also spent the second million as well on your house, cars, jewelry, and stuff. Both your husband, Harold Devoe, and your son, Jeremy Devoe, are now deceased, as are my parents. “I, Alpha Eric Taylor, Alpha Command you to write out that Jade is the owner of every possession that you and your family had. It will be sold, and the proceeds are to be given back to Jade, as per her mother’s instructions in the insurance paperwork. You will go to live in the packhouse with your personal items, but you cannot keep the cars and jewelry that you bought until the million is paid back to Jade, anything over that you may keep. You will have to pay it back. If you don’t do it voluntarily, I will instruct Beta Williams, who will be taking over the Howling Moon pack when I am killed for him to make sure that the money is paid back to Jade”. But you will return every bit of the money that you took from Jade and give it all back to her.

“OK, I have instructed her to sign over everything to Jade, and sell off the house, and cars, jewelry, until she reaches the million-dollar mark. I also mind linked Beta Williams and told him to make sure that she gets it done, or to give Jade the million from our account and then sell the house, and other items to take the place of the money until we can deposit the money from the sales back into the bank. He will then sell the jewels, use the cars for the high-ranking members, and to use their home as a place for visiting Alphas to stay in if she refuses to comply or if she kills herself now that she knows that her family is gone, sometimes people do that too because they cannot deal with the pain of the loss.

Speaking of that, can I just ask that Tate just has his men take me out. I concede to your packs, I do not wish to fight Asher to the death, and seeing my parents lying there has broken my heart. It is my last request. A moment later a shot rings out and Eric falls to the ground. The war is over, and Jade is now safe.
