Rejected, Then Reborn -
Chapter 32
Apparently, there was something that could get Lacy to stop feeling like a hungover, tired mess.
Shopping.
Apparently old habits did die hard after all if the way Lacy’s face had lit up when the Lyken Princess had informed her of the planned activity was any indication.
To be honest, although the human girl was feeling uncomfortable at the thought of taking money from the Princess, she wasn’t exactly earning yet… and Anaya had literally begged her to consider the new wardrobe a gift of sorts for everything Reed had put her through.
Unsurprisingly, that had been enough to tame all of that weirdness the human was feeling.
All seven of them had gotten into a huge dark van amidst so much chatter and excitement, and for the first time in Lacy’s life in the clan, she was taken out of the castle’s walls and into the B***d Moon Territory proper.
The city was amazing, cobblestoned pavements, lush greens and vibrant blossoms almost everywhere… tarred roads, and beautiful houses that looked like they belonged on the covers of sub urban real estate magazines. But what touched Lacy most of all were the people,
The Lykens.
They were a lot.
The city looked so alive with loads of people going to and fro, going about their daily activities, everyone looking surprisingly content. It really surprised Lacy, for all this while, she liked to think that the Alpha King’s ruthlessness would have extended towards his kingdom, that his people would be unhappy… sad and bitter under his cruel tyrannical hand, but it was nothing of the sort.
“You doing okay there, Lacy?” Anaya gently nudged her when she had gone quiet for a bit too long, “Is your headache going down?”
Lacy smiled at her friend, “I’m much better, Anaya. I must admit, your city has completely taken me by surprise. This was totally not what I expected. It’s—it’s beautiful.”
“We have a ruthless and yet doting ruler to thank for all of this,” Nissi pointed out from opposite her, smiling slightly, “I guess that’s why when it truly comes to it, the whole clan still adores His Eminence to bits despite his, uhm, questionable persona—no offence, Princess.” Saylor interjected causing the Lyken Princess to chuckle, “None taken. Even I know Reed’s a jerk.”
“We’re here!” Viv called out excitedly from the front seat, having left them to hang out with the attractive chauffeur she had immediately called dibs on the instant she had seen him.
The six she-Lykens, and one human alighted from the car, and Lacy stared in awe at the huge glass building before her, with the words, ALLEGRA beautifully etched onto its walls. “Wow.” She whispered reverently.
“You haven’t even been inside yet.” Lola snorted in amusement, her jet-black bangs going along with her movement as they all walked into the shop. The huge glass doors tinkled when the guard opened it, announcing their arrival even as they all trudged in.
In that moment, Lacy had no doubt. This place was most certainly not for just anyone. With the way the long, tall, slender attendant’s eyes shined with admiration and respect, and how it all changed when her nose sniffed Lacy and her gaze landed on her in her baggy shirt and sweatpants, it became quite obvious that this place was the haute of all the haute couture in the Clan.
The woman curtsied slightly in acknowledgment of the Princess, “Welcome to ALLEGRA,” She greeted them, “I’m Elsa, and I will be your primary attendant for today.” She had an accent that sounded like a cross between an Italian accent, and a French accent, and with her dark, well-tailored, figure-hugging calf length ensemble, paired with a string of white, definitely authentic pearls, this Elsa woman was the very picture of elegance. After introducing the group to three more attendants, Elsa took them around.
“Yeah, we’re looking for a new closet for my good friend here,” Anaya said, flicking her red hair off her face, “What exactly do you recommend?”
“Certainly not sweatpants for one,” The attendant replied breezily, her eyes sweeping over Lacy from head to toe in what was some well concealed disdain. It was going to be a long day.
Now while the squad consisted of different shapes and figures, Lacy seemed to be the bigger one among them, and up until now, she hadn’t been bothered about it, until she had come under the heavy scrutinizing eyes of this Elsa woman that is.
At one point, the other girls had thankfully gone off to get themselves stuff, leaving only Anaya with her, and Lacy didn’t know why, but it was then she let out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding. “Are you okay?” Anaya asked and she quickly nodded. “I’m alright, I’m just not comfortable with having Elsa dress me, that’s all. I could do with a nicer attendant for starters.” She explained, shooting the model-like woman a saccharine smile that said everything. That she had noticed her judgmental scrutiny, and wasn’t going to take that bullshit lying down.
“Thanks, Elsa… but you heard my friend. Assign us to another attendant.” Came the princess’s orders.
Elsa seemed subdued and angry all at once, Lacy was sure it had something to do with the fact that she had lost the opportunity to attend to the princess, but what did she care? If she had had good manners, she probably would have still been helping them pick out clothes.
Things had gone without much of a hitch from there, and Anaya and the new, nicer attendant who went by the name, Millie had fun picking out outfits and getting her to try them on.
For Lacy, it felt like she was in a movie, having that dress-change episode in movies with the excited best friend, and the overly cheery attendant, but the only difference was that she did not exactly have anywhere to be.
Until she grabbed a short bodycon dress, that is.
“Oh goddess. You look stunning, Lacy.” The Lyken princess cooed in delight, her light green eyes shining ever so bright as she clasped her hands in glee.
She wasn’t lying, Lacy felt stunning.
Now normally, she would have had a problem with the dress because of her wide h**s and its bodycon nature, but with the ruched design, it was certainly not going to ride up unless she actually wanted it to. It was a vibrant red piece, with thin straps for sleeves and an inbuilt bra that did wonders for her ample bosom. A corset-like middle completed the outfit, giving her a snatched, just the right amount of sexy kind of look.
“I love it.” She admitted sheepishly.
“Of course, you do. Honey, it was as if the dress was made just for you. Tell you what, we’re hitting the club tonight!” The princess declared instantaneously.
“What?”
“You heard me,” She smirked, “The dress is seriously too good to spend even a night in your closet, Lace. It needs to be worn immediately, its beauty confidently flaunted for all to see,”
But Lacy was barely paying her friend any attention. Only one word seemed to be resonating in her head.
Lace.
Lace on Lace.
Why was she now suddenly thinking about the Alpha King and how he had so passionately ravaged her that night?
Lacy thought she had managed to successfully put that night behind her, but all it had taken was one word, and her lower belly was already clenching, her panties drenching as she re-lived the pleasure.
“Lacy!”
The human snapped out of her wild thought as though someone had drenched her in cold water. “Come on. Go get changed,” Anaya said when she finally had her attention, “I’ll go get the girls, we have a lot of things to do before night falls.” She squealed in delight, “Goddess, this is going to be so much fun!”
