Rejected, Then Reborn -
Chapter 77
“LUCIUS! SHOW YOUR f*****g FACE YOU BLOODY BASTARD!”
Reed chased after her, “Lacy, Lacy, maybe we should talk about this—”
“A little busy here, Mate,” Lacy cut him off, smiling tightly at the Alpha King, her ruby red lipstick and wide smile giving her a freaky Harley Quinn vibe. “And don’t think for a second that I’ve forgotten that I’m mad and disappointed in you.”
“I know you are, Lacy…” He reached for her arm to stop her, a very worried look on his face. You see, he got that she and the darkness were one, and he got that the council needed to go too, but she wasn’t thinking straight.
Her anger was fueling her, goading her,
Goading her into making reckless decisions.
How could he get her to see that?
“But listen to me for a second, we do not know what he’s hiding, why he thinks he has a shot. He’s probably up to something, I can feel it, let’s be rational about this for a second.”
“Rational?” His words stopped her in her tracks.
Oh, oh, he seemed to have struck a nerve.
“You think I’m not being rational, Reed?” She c****d a perfectly plucked brow, “Do you know how vile that man is, do you know the f*****g things he has done?”
“I do not give a flying f**k about Lucius, Lacy… it is you I’m worried about, you’re making f*****g rash decisions, I can’t help but worry!” He was frantic.
“I don’t remember asking you to worry for me, Reed. The last time I checked, I was the bloody Dark Witch. I can f*****g handle myself.” She snatched her arm from his hold, walking on, but then she changed her mind and stopped in her tracks, turning to face him.
“You know, perhaps this is all a bit too much for you, don’t you think? Your natural instinct to protect, seeing me take on all of those bastards singlehandedly, seeing me drained like that as a result… I get it. No, no, I really do.” She assured him, “And that is why I think you should sit this one out… you know, let me handle it all alone, how I deem fit. It is between me and Lucius after all,”
The Alpha King’s eyes widened, “LACY NO!”
But it was already too late.
“Sleep tight, my love,” She was already whispering the words, little wisps of dark energy leaving her outstretched fingers, wafting into his nostrils, already starting to make him drowsy.
“No, Lacy, no.” This time the words came out as a sleepy whisper, and then just before he could fall to the ground, she caught up with him and gently helped lay him on the bare floor, “Shh, it’ll be over before you know it, my love,” She promised, kissing him on the temple as sleep deeply and completely claimed him.
She stood to her feet; vengeance mode activated.
“LUCIUS! YOU CAN RUN, BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE. COME OUT YOU f*****g COWARD!” She started to walk away from her sleeping mate, but a thought crossed her mind, sending her right back to him.
What if Lucius found him in his vulnerable state?
She needed to keep him safe.
It didn’t take a second to deal with that, to tuck him in a place that she was certain he wouldn’t be found in, and then she was back on the prowl, looking for her ex-husband.
It was ironic, just how quickly time changed, wasn’t it?
It seemed so long ago that now she wasn’t even sure if it was years or months back, but she had at one point in time been the prey, the one running away from her husband, doing all the hiding, but boy oh now,
She sure loved how the tables had turned.
Okay, things were starting to become boring, she had to up things a notch.
Closing her eyes, she lifted her right hand, slowly clenching her fingers into a fist, a mischievous smirk coating her lips when all the lights in the building turned off at her command.
She took in a deep breath, focusing, concentrating…
She could smell him, no, no… she could smell his fear,
And it smelled heavenly.
“LACY LISTEN, I KNOW THIS ISN’T YOU… WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS, I KNOW BEHIND THAT DARK HEART, YOU’RE STILL IN THERE SOMEWHERE, THE YOU WHO IS GOOD AND KIND… THE ONE WHO WOULDN’T HURT A FLY, MUCH LESS HURT PEOPLE… FORGIVE ME, PLEASE!”
Upstairs.
She teleported, silently appearing behind him… he seemed to be working on some weird artifact.
It was all an act.
Lacy realised quickly, the fear in his voice, it had all been a ploy to lower her guard, so he could use whatever this was on her.
Well now, he had done it.
Dark energy pulsed out of her in a blast, sending the jug-like artifact clattering over the balcony that overlooked the lower Grand Hall. “You know nothing, Lucius Smith!”
“NO!!!!!”
His grief as the artifact felt to the ground and broke was so powerful Lacy almost felt pity.
Almost.
But surprisingly, when he turned to face her, he was far from repentant, “If I will die Lacy, it will be on my own f*****g terms, not yours,” He snapped out a silver dagger, trying to stab himself in the heart, but that was too easy?
And Lacy’d be damned if she gave him an easy way out.
A flick of her hand sent the knife clattering to the ground, her anger hot and livid as his words from earlier played over and over again in her mind, “f*****g bastard. You can’t run away from me, love… even if you make it to Hades before I deem it time, I will follow you, and make sure that I finish what I started.”
She used telepathic energy to grab the knife, sighing in contentment when the cold heavy metal settled in her grasp. She closed the distance between them, noting with glee how he took steps back in fear, “I guess I should thank you though, you just gave me the perfect weapon,” She grinned sadistically at him.
This time, he really was scared.
Good.
“Kneel.” She commanded.
But he stood there, pride causing him to disobey her.
“Mm.” She noted.
“Perhaps the many years spent being an Alpha has made you forget how to obey commands. Or maybe the concept of kneeling is so foreign to you.” She reasoned mockingly.
“But don’t worry? I am pretty certain that I can help with that,” Her fingers began to move intricately, and they both heard a loud snap, right before the Alpha Werewolf’s left knee bone broke in two, causing him to let out a loud wail of pain.
The right one quickly followed, sending the poor man screaming in agony as he dropped to his knees.
“Now, that wasn’t so hard, was it?” Lacy cackled in delight.
She clenched her fists, and his hands went behind his back, some invisible force binding him, and the Dark Witch took a step closer to him, still wielding the dagger.
Lacy caressed his face with it, starting right at his hairline, tracing the outline of his face with it, and relishing in his cries and g****s as the silver left sizzling marks on his skin,
“I used to hate you; you know… I used to hate you so much it hurt.” She admitted, “But now, I feel nothing.” She told him.
“You are pathetic, Lucius… and it’s nice to know that you’re still no way near being repentant, it makes having my revenge even more delicious.” She smiled cheerily at him.
“YOU’RE SICK!”
“Oh?” She chuckled, “Maybe I am, but you, are about to die.” She retorted with glee peeling the skin off with the help of the outline she had made,
“Perhaps I should keep this as a souvenir for all the she-wolves you had maltreated before me,” She dangled the bloody skin in front of his wailing face, “They need to know that even though justice had been late in coming, it had finally paid them a visit.”
She stood up to stare at her finished work, his bloody face, proud of herself, “Have you ever heard of the phrase, ‘you have been served breakfast?’” She asked.
“IF YOU WANT TO KILL ME, JUST GET IT OVER AND DONE WITH, WITCH!”
“Tsk, tsk… that is no way to talk to someone ushering you to the other side,” She glared at him, heartlessly stabbing him in the left eye with the dagger, leaving it over there for a little while as the silver caused it to sizzle,
“Ugh,” She g*****d ecstatically, “The sound reminds me of fried bacon in the morning… you know what? Maybe you should taste it,” She plucked the eye out with a violence that would have made the old her pass out, and the she pointed it at his mouth, “Eat.”
“I SHOULD HAVE NEVER CROSSED PATHS WITH YOU, YOU’RE—YOU’RE CRAZY!”
His chest was heaving through his now bloody suit, the silver making his pain a million times worse, and Lacy truly liked that he wasn’t shutting up, it left no room for guilt.
The i***t deserved everything that was coming his way through and through.
She shoved the sizzling eyeball into his mouth, dark energy emanating from her as she fed on his pain, “Chew, and swallow, love.” She ordered, “And keep it all down!” She glared at him when his gag reflex started to kick in.
At one point, the pain became so unbearable it triggered his wolf, and Lacy slapped him harshly across the face, a powerful one that rapidly halted the process, “It’s just you and I tonight, love, and I’m just getting started.”
