Lacy had come home.

Back to her mate, Reed Alderon Winchester, and back to his people.

And she only had one thing to say; that it really felt great to be back.

You know, the Dark Queen had always felt like she didn’t really get the chance to bond with the members of the B***d Moon Clan as much as she’d like to before her responsibilities as Goddess and Queen had carried her to others places, but the welcome and the love they had shown her when she touched down on the soils of the Lyken Realm had thrown away every doubt. Her people loved her just as much as she loved them.

As Lacy walked down the path leading towards her mate’s impressive castle, clad in a form-fitting, strapless burgundy gown with a mermaid-shaped outline, her entourage behind her, she could feel a gaze hotly burning down on her.

She lifted her own gaze, and there he was on the second-floor balcony,

Her mate.

Alpha King Reed Alderon Winchester watched as Lacy made her way down the path that led towards the castle, her burgundy dress blending impressively with the garden of flowers that seemed to be bowing towards her radiant beauty, the very one that put theirs to shame in leaps and bounds, and a smile spread across his handsome face as he took in the sight of her.

She was beautiful, always beautiful, with her long blond flowing curls and light green eyes that seemed to light up whenever she saw him.

She did not have any crown on her head, and yet one could instantly tell that she was royalty, and indeed it did not even have anything to do with her lovely clothes, there was just something about her that screamed graceful. As a matter of fact, he remembered now that the same thought had popped up in his mind the first time he had seen her as well.

He had thought of her as a fairytale princess.

Now, it seemed that he hadn’t been so far from the truth.

Gods, how he had missed her terribly during her absence, but boy oh boy, he had been busy preparing for her return.

The mighty Alpha King had been so lost in thought that he hadn’t realised that she was inside, magically appearing on the top floor where he was, gracefully making her way towards him.

“Welcome home, my love,” He grinned charmingly, making his way towards her and enveloping her in a warm embrace. “I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you too,” Lacy replied, pulling away and looking up at him with a soft smile. “How have you been?”

Yes, they spoke on the phone quite a lot, but it was never the same as asking him in person, never the same as being able to see the look in his striking blue eyes as she heard him answer the question with his amazing mouth.

“Busy,” Reed admitted. “But it’s all been worth it. I have something special planned for us tonight.”

Lacy raised an eyebrow, a mischievously impressed look on her face as she looked up at him, intrigued. “Oh really? Do tell.”

But the Alpha King only chuckled. “No, no, my love. If I do tell you, it ceases to be a surprise, doesn’t it?”

The Dark Queen could only shoot him an irritated look, one that he hugged her to get rid of. “Come on Lace, it’s a surprise. But I promise, you’ll love it.”

After a lot of coaxing and smooches from her mate, Lacy finally grinned, feeling a flutter of excitement in her stomach. “Alright, I trust you.”

They sat at the balcony, watching the sun set together, just talking about everything, and then in the moments that it came, nothing all at once, just relishing in the feel of being in each other’s company. And when nighttime finally came, Reed led Lacy by the hand outside to the castle tarmac where a private helicopter sat waiting.

She shot him a look of pleasant surprise, a wide grin on her face, “A helicopter? What do you have in mind, Reed?”

The Alpha King smirked, “You’ll see, love.”

It seemed the Alpha King had a few more tricks up his sleeves, for he handled the lift-off, his face scrunching in concentration, his eyes, his muscles bunching against the controls, turning her on.

When he finally joined her, he had a mischievous smirk on his face, his dimples fully on display.

“You liked that, didn’t you?” His eyes were showing hints of red, a tell-tale sign that Ace was hovering on the surface.

They were threading thin ice here.

And in as much as Lacy didn’t want to admit it, there was just something about the thick s****l tension between her dark side and the Lyken wolf that almost made the wait worth it.

But she was this close to snapping.

And right now, the only thing that was holding her back was the fact that they had company.

She cleared her throat to snap herself out of it. “I didn’t know you could fly?”

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me, love.”

And so the conversation continued.

For the first time ever, the Alpha King was so chatty and engaging, and perhaps, that had been a sly trick he had had in mind to have her focused on him and not the outside surroundings, for the helicopter soon touched down somewhere around forty five minutes later, causing the Dark Queen to look out the window.

What she saw made her gasp at the location her mate had brought her to.

A secluded beach, but unlike one Lacy had ever seen.

Sunset and sunrise toggled across the sky in rapid sucession, creating a beautiful pattern of day and night, and sending birds fluttering in different directions.

It was as though whoever was in charge of that had somehow messed up the controls, causing this chaos that had somehow managed to morph into something that was simply put, otherworldly.

“Goddess.” The Dark Queen could not help but mutter softly, and Reed couldn’t help it, he chuckled, “Are you referring to yourself or the Moon Goddess?”

But Lacy was still too stunned to pay attention to the creative ribbing, “What is this place? Where are we?”

“We’re in the Fae Realm,” He told her proudly, as he helped her down, “Kratos Samire was kind enough to grant me access to this exclusive place,” He looked at her face, sighing deeply in contentment as he watched the myriad of emotions flitting across her face.

He had gotten the very thing he had hoped to achieve with planning this getaway.

Kratos Samire was the leader of the Faefolk, and an effective and efficient asset to the Supernatural council, and he had kind of taken Lacy on as a daughter, helping her hone her fae powers, which were surprisingly very terrible.

The sun was setting over the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, and then pitch black, and then green… and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing to the soul.

Sitting in the middle of the ocean, was a perfect candle-lit dinner for two, a small islandlike space, created right out of the huge mass of water just for the lavish space.

“H—how? Reed, this, this is incredible,” Lacy breathed, turning to face him with tears in her eyes. “How did you do all of this?”

Reed smiled, taking her hand in his. “I have my ways. But if you want the unromantic version, then it’s magic. All magic, my love.” He told her, “Come.” He placed her hand in the crook of his elbow and pulled her towards the beach.

Lacy looked around in wonder as they walked along the beach, taking in the beautiful decorations that surrounded them.

There were lanterns hanging from the trees, rose petals scattered on the sand, everything was just amazing.

When it came to crossing over to their table, Reed scratched his head adorably, “I guess I didn’t think that far on that one,” He admitted easily, sending her spiralling into a fit of laughter.

“I’ve got it, my love,” She assured him, going right on to fulfill the promise by teleporting them to their tables.

Dinner was a meal each one of them loved the most, and the couple took time eating, tasting each morsel off of each other’s tongues. It was erotically stimulating and beautiful.

The sound of the waves and the gentle breeze created a serene atmosphere, and Lacy was having a good, relaxing time.

As the night went on, Reed seemed more nervous than usual, fidgeting in his seat and avoiding eye contact with Lacy.

“What’s wrong, my love?” Lacy asked, concerned. “Is everything okay?”

The Alpha King took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to do. “Lace, my love, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you for a long time now.”

Lacy’s heart skipped a beat, sensing what was coming. “What is it?”

Reed got down on one knee, pulling out a small velvet box that matched her dress from his pocket. “Lacy, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife? I know I have asked already, but this time, if you say yes, we will be tied together forever by the time we leave this island.”

Lacy gasped, tears streaming down her face as she looked at the sparkling diamond ring in the box that he had before her. You know, she had always told herself that she would not be one of those dumb women who burst into tears when they were being proposed to, and in the two earlier proposals she had received, she had managed to keep her promise, but maybe whatever charm she had used was finally starting to wear off, for that was the only explanation that made sense. “Yes, Reed, of course I will. I’ll marry you!” She cried out, flying right into his arms, and almost tossing both of them into the sea with her violence.

Reed smiled as he fixed slipped the ring onto her finger, kissing the diamond on her hand softly, “I’ll spend eternity making sure you never regret this decision, Lace.” With those words, he pulled her in for a passionate k**s.

The night sky spontaneously exploded with fireworks, illuminating the beach and signaling the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

And as they pulled away from the k**s, Reed whispered in his mate’s ear, “I love you more than anything in this world. You’re my everything, Lacy Reynolds.”

Lacy smiled, feeling overwhelmed with emotion, something about the moment almost feeling like they were already doing it, saying their vows for real. “I love you too, Reed Alderon Winchester. Always and forever.”

So, under the stars, surrounded by the beauty of a magical nature and their own perfect company, Reed and Lacy made a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together.
