Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 143

At this moment, a man grabbed her by the hair and slapped her in the face so hard that she started to bleed. He then followed it up with a kick before throwing her to the ground. "Don't you like being abused? I heard you get excited whenever they beat you up. Why aren't you screaming? C'mon, scream!" The man grinned, kicking her again. Amelia lay on the ground like a soulless puppet, her vision blurred.

"Do you still think that you're the same Miss Smith that you used to be? Haha, your family is finished. You're nothing now!

"Hold her up. I want to see if I can hit her until I make her squirt.

"You should thank me, bitch. I'm almost doing you a favor by beating you up!"

Two goons stepped forward and grabbed Amelia's arms, lifting her up.

The man punched Amelia in the abdomen.

Amelia's body arched, and she let out a whimper, "Ahh..."

"Hahaha, that's more like it!" The man laughed wildly. Then, he raised his arm and prepared to hit Amelia again.

Katie hissed, "Stop!"

She walked up to Amelia and stood before her, saying coldly, "Are you insane? What do you think you're doing?!"

The eyes of the men shone. They left Amelia alone and surrounded Katie. "Heh, where did this beauty come from? A bit of a busybody, aren't we?"

"Do you feel sorry for her? If you hang out with us, we might consider leaving her alone. We promise that we'll be very gentle with you!"

"Enough with your nonsense!" Katie bellowed.

Amelia looked at Katie in disbelief. "Katie, is that you?"

Katie as in Katie Hartley?

The goons guessed Katie's identity and sneered, "I see. You must be that Katie Hartley."

"Are you the one that ruined the Smiths? Hehe, don't think that that would be enough to scare us off."

Adam approached them and said calmly, "Is that so?"

Dereck Redfield, the boss of the goons, gave Adam a disdainful look and said, "Are you her good-for-nothing husband?

"There are many rumors about you. People say that you helped your wife become the chairman of Hartley Group and the head of her family. However, what I don't understand is... is that supposed to be impressive? "After all, the Hartleys are pretty much nothing, and it'd be child's play to destroy them.

"Anyway, do you know which company Longslide Resort belongs to? I'm an important member here, and I need just a word to have you kicked out!"

Adam raised his eyebrows and said, "Interesting. Why don't you give it a try?"

Adam did not believe that they would kick him out of a place that belonged to him.

Dereck looked at Adam disdainfully and sneered, "They say you love to brag. It seems the rumors are true.

"Do you know what kind of place this is? This resort was built by Charmin Corp, and even the cheapest membership card costs over one million dollars. The likes of you aren't even qualified to get past the entrance. "What I have here is a diamond membership card. Let alone kick you out, if I told them to break your legs, they'd do it in a blink of the eye!"

Adam sneered, "What a coincidence. I also have a card. Do you want to see whose is better, yours or mine?"

Dereck laughed out loud. "Heh, do you want to compete with me? Even if you add the Hartleys to the mix, you aren't my match!"

"Haha, do you even know who Mr. Redfield is? His father is the owner of the biggest bank in Lisle. None of the families around here dare to offend him, no matter how rich or powerful they are. The Hartleys aren't even worth mentioning when compared to him. Trash will always be trash. This guy is such a fool for bragging before Mr. Redfield!"

The goons in the rear mocked Adam.

Dereck smiled, satisfied with the praises of his henchmen. Then, he said disdainfully, "You could overthrow the Smiths because they were too weak. Today, you'll get a taste of the power of a real family of tycoons. "Security!"

As Dereck yelled, several security guards came over, and asked respectfully, "Mr. Redfield, is something the matter?"

Dereck pointed at Adam and the rest, demanding, "Throw him out and break his legs. As for the girls, leave them behind." Adam said nothing. He wanted to seize this opportunity to take a look at how the Black Snake Brigade managed the place.

The security guards hesitated for a moment but eventually refused, "Mr. Redfield, this goes against the rules."

Dereck frowned. He shoved back the security guard and started cursing, "What the f**k did you say? I dare you to repeat it!"

The security guard said awkwardly, "Mr. Redfield, we can drive them out if you wish, but we can't break their legs."

Dereck was trying to show off but was let down by the security guards. Feeling humiliated, he shouted, "Are you guys tired of living? Call your f*****g manager here!" Adam nodded, satisfied.

Soon after, a man in his thirties walked up to them with large strides. The man was full of confidence, and Adam could tell at a glance that he was a veteran.

"Mr. Redfield, did you ask for my presence?" asked the manager.

Dereck gritted his teeth and said, "Your security guards are fucking useless. They won't even follow my orders! Is my diamond membership card just for show?"

The manager turned to look at the security guards and asked with a frown, "What happened?"

One of the security guards recounted everything that had happened.

The manager then forced a smile and said, "Mr. Redfield, you can't blame the security guards for this. These are the rules of the resort. We can help you drive them out, but we can't break their legs." Dereck's face fell. "I've spent over 7 million dollars at this place over the course of a year, and you can't even do this much for me?!"

The manager apologized, "I'm sorry, but we really can't do it."

Dereck was furious. He felt humiliated, and there was no way he would swallow this insult.

"Even you dare to defy me? Fuck this shit, I'm going to call your boss!" Dereck grabbed his phone and prepared to make a call.

Seeing that the Black Snake Brigade was managing this place properly, Adam did not want to waste any more time with Dereck. "Since your diamond membership card turned out to be useless, let's take a look at my card." Adam took out his bank card.

Dereck laughed out loud. "That's not even a membership card. It's a bank card, you idiot! Moreover, even if you wanted to become a member, you would not be qualified, no matter how much money you've in that account of yours. "Shit, I can't stop laughing. Hey, Manager, why don't you check what rank his card is? Hahaha..." Dereck looked at the manager and sneered.

The manager looked at the bank card in disbelief. He even rubbed his eyes to make sure that he was not seeing things. He thought of taking the card but hesitated, deciding to rub his hands on his clothes before touching it. "Is... Is it really you?" asked the manager in a shaky voice.

Dereck frowned. He could not understand why the manager was reacting like this.

What Adam showed the manager was the black bank card he received from Woodgrove Bank upon his discharge from the military...
