Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 102

Xander’s POV

The three of us were back in our room and I wasn’t happy. I didn’t want Kane here while I was gone, but I really didn’t have much of a choice. I didn’t trust Kane yet. We still needed to call King Jag so Kane could tell him our plans. I went to my dresser and pulled out Kane’s phone and turned it on.

“Sophia, will you go lay the boys down in our room so we can make this call. I don’t want him to hear them.”

She just nodded at me and scooped up and grabbed a baby and walked into our room, quickly coming back out and grabbing the other one, before joining us in the living room.

“Kane, I need you to put the call on speaker phone when talking to him. You need to tell him that I have an emergency and will be leaving tonight with my Beta and we will be gone for at least a week. See if you can get a time when he will be here.”

I handed him the phone and you could see that he was nervous. I was taking a big chance with all of this, but I didn’t have any other choice. I walked over and made sure our door was locked. I looked at Kane and let him know that we were ready. He dialed the number and placed it on speakerphone.

“What has taken so long for an update?” King Jag said, answering the phone.

“Sorry, I have been busy. They are buying into that I am Kane, and I am gaining more trust.”

“Good. Now, what do you have for me?”

“The Alpha was holding a meeting and I eavesdropped on it and found out that he has had some type of emergency and he and his Beta will be leaving tonight.”

“That’s great, but what about all of the extra people there?”

“He sent them away, saying that due to the emergency, his pack needed their privacy for a while, and asked them to return home. The pack will be back to normal by midafternoon tomorrow.”

“Have you gotten close to my queen?”

“Yes, she trusts me more than anyone else. She knows that I am her mate and she welcomed me back with open arms. What she doesn’t know is that I work for you and not them anymore. I don’t feel the mate bond with her and, frankly, sharing a mate with another male is just weird to me. I don’t know how I did it, to begin with.”

“Good. Now I can execute my plan.”

“What do you need me to do?”

“Continue to woo my queen and get as close to her without sleeping with her. On Wednesday at two in the afternoon, I want you to see if she will go for a walk with you alone. I want you to walk her towards the northeast border and I will meet you there. Once we have her, we will throw in a car and take off.”

I could hear someone in the background talking and whining to King Jag. The voice sounded familiar, but I wasn’t sure who yet.

“I am on it, sir. I will not disappoint you,” Kaine said.

“You know what will happen if you betray me. I have entrusted you with this and I promise that you are not alone in that pack and people are watching you and reporting back to me as well.”

“I wouldn’t expect anything less from you, sir. You are always one step ahead of everyone.”

He hung up the phone without another word. I am not sure if I believe everything he said and if he truly played into this or not, but it was all we had. Kane turned to me and handed me back the phone. I turned it off and shoved it into my pocket.

“Baby girl, I am sorry. I had to say those things to make him think I was still on his side. I didn’t mean a single word of it,” Kane explained to her as soon as he hung up the phone.

“I am going to get Lucy and have everyone meet us here.”

I stormed out of the room still angry about everything. I don’t know how I can move past this, but I need to figure it out. I made my way to the daycare to get Lucy and sent my dad a mind link.

“Dad, please have everyone who is helping execute this plan meet in my room please.”

I cut the link before he could reply. I walked into the daycare and found Lucy playing with a group of kids.

“Princess, want to go home early today?”

She turned and looked at me and you could see her face light up as she ran right up to me.

“We need to have a little talk before we get back to our room,” I told Lucy.

She didn’t say much but looked up at me. It was like looking into a mirror with her eyes that were identical to mine. I picked her up and headed out of the daycare and took her outside for a few minutes. I had to explain Kane to her.

“Princess, do you remember Uncle Kane?”

“Yes, he lives in my heart now as my mommy does.”

“Well, princess, he is alive somehow and he is up in our room. Would you like to go see him?”

“How did he undie daddy?”

“The moon goddess,” was the only thing I could say. I didn’t know how else to explain it.

She didn’t ask any more questions and I hoped she would just accept what it was. I walked to our room and when I got there everyone was there waiting for me. I set Lucy down and she ran straight to my dad, wanting to play princess. I just laughed at him. That little girl had him wrapped around her finger and I don’t know if he knew it or not.

“Alright everyone, we have to make this quick as I have to leave soon,” I told them as I walked over to our little table and rolled out the map my dad had brought with him.

“Can you please explain this?” Asked one of the councilmen.

“Yes, Kane here was working for King Jag and he regained his memories today and when he interrupted our meeting to let us know that he saw a witch in there, that also happens to be King Jag’s second in charge. We had to change plans and quickly.”

“Wait a minute, one of the witches is a traitor?” Asked one of the witch’s council members asked.

“Yes, it would be Waylon. He has been part of King Jags pack for some time now,” Kane explained.

There were gasps heard from all of the witches in the room.

“What?” I asked, getting annoyed.

“He is the second in command on the witch’s council. He is very powerful and if he has turned dark, that is a bad thing. He has his own coven and if he has them behind this as well, it will be difficult to fight him,” explained another witch.

s**t, this is getting more serious than I thought. I had to think fast. We didn’t have a lot of time. Three days, to be exact.

“Here is what we are going to do. We are all leaving. I am going to leave Trevor here and we will all travel to another pack and when it’s time he will open a portal for us to come back. We know when he will be here and we will continue to plan while we are at another pack. Now, do we have any takers for someone that can take us all in?”

“We can,” Alpha Dane said.

“Thanks, friend, I knew I could count on you and your pack is one of the closest to us.”

“Anyways, I know you would do the same for us.”

“Would you please coordinate with everyone, and you can head home tonight and tomorrow. We don’t want to make it too suspicious.”

Everyone filed out of our room and left me with my mate, kids, and Kane. I needed to talk with them about what I expected but didn’t know how to bring it up.

“Can I talk with you two boys about everything please?” asked Sophia.

We both nodded and walked to the couch but one of the boys started crying. Kane and I both headed into the room to get them.

Alexander was crying and defiantly needed to be changed. I picked him up and walked over to the changing table while Kane picked up his son. It was a surreal moment for me. I could feel that this felt right. He should be here. That was his son, and he had every right to be with him, but I had to learn to trust him again. We both walked out into the living room holding the boys and Sophia looked at us with tears in her eyes.

“What’s wrong, beautiful?” I asked her, concerned.

“Nothing, these are happy tears, seeing my two mates with their sons. It’s just something I thought I would never see,” she said crying but smiling at the same time.

We just smiled at her and sat on the couch. I could hear Lucy had occupied herself in her room playing.

“Xander, I know you are not happy about leaving and having Kane here, but I want to promise you something.”

I just looked at her, nodding my head for her to continue.

“We made a pact once that neither of us would do anything with Sophia unless both of us were present and I think for now that is something that should be done again. I swear I will not do anything with her until you are here.” Kane spouted out before Sophia could say anything else.

“Exactly what I was going to say, but not in so many words, and wait a second you guys really made that pack?” She asked us both while raising her eyebrow at us.

“Of course, we did baby girl. We both love you and didn’t want jealousy to get in the way and after we realized that it wouldn’t be a problem, we talked about how we could love you together and separately and it was a big part of our bond. The trust that we had in each other.”

“Thank you, Kane. It improves my trust in you but only slightly,” I told him. I knew it would only be a matter of time before I fully trusted him. He really was back, but until King Jag was dead and he proved he really was on our side, I would have my doubts.

“There is one more thing and I swear on the moon goddess that I didn’t remember until we were talking about our plan with everyone else today and I didn’t want to announce it in front of everyone else,” Kane said sound a little nervous.

“You better spill it now!” I roared at him.

“There is one more person in that pack you need to be aware of and she is helping him, thinking that once Sophia is out of the way she will step in and be your Luna, Xander.”

“f*****g Clarissa, isn’t it? I knew she had disappeared before I could kill her but we had no trace of where she was,” I growled out.

“Yes, but before I could remember who I was and everything, I may have slept with her on more than one occasion.”

“I will kill the b***h!” Yelled Sophia.

“She is all yours beautiful. You have every right to do what you want to her,” I told her and I meant every word. She could kill her however she deemed fit. Clarissa had caused her so much pain and suffering.

“Trust me, Stella is imagining all the ways we can torture her first. She will regret the day she slept with either of my mates,” growled out Sophia. I’ve never heard her talk like this but it was kind of hot. She was being passive and I liked it.

I handed Alexander to Sophia and headed into Lucy’s room. I needed to spend some time with her before I left.
