Sophia’s POV

Today was the day. I was not ready for this. I didn’t want to lose anyone. I needed to be here for my kids. Lucy needed a mother and I had to be around to make sure that Xander and Kane didn’t kill each other, and my sweet babies needed a mother also. Those two were going to be trouble growing up if they were anything like their fathers. I also wanted to see them grow up and turn into fine young men. They were the future of this pack, and they were going to do great things. I just knew it.

“Good morning, baby girl,” Kane said as he wrapped his arms around me tighter. We were still lying in bed, and I wasn’t ready to face the day yet.

“Good morning” I grumpily told Kane.

“Don’t be grumpy with me. We are going to get through this day, I promise you. Nothing will happen to you.”

“It’s not me I am worried about. It’s everyone I love.”

“Baby girl, it will be OK, we are all trained to do this. We also have some very powerful witches on our side.”

“I know, something just feels wrong right now.”

He just buried his head into my neck and inhaled my scent. I knew he was trying to calm himself as well. Our front door swung open, and I could hear someone coming into our room. We both sat up ready for an attack when Xander walked in.

“Good morning, beautiful.”

“Why are you here?” I asked him, not trying to be rude, but he said he wouldn’t be here. It just caught me off guard.

“I couldn’t start this day without you in my arms.”
