Sophia's Revenge
Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 106

Sophia’s POV

Xander left me in our doorway, crying. He knew I was crying, but I knew if he had stayed, he wouldn’t have left. I didn’t want him to go either. It really felt like he was telling me goodbye. I can’t lose another mate. I couldn’t go through that pain again. I had to protect both of them today, no matter the cost. Kane walked over to me and engulfed me in a big hug, and just held me as I cried.

“Baby girl, it’s going to be OK. We are going to kill him, and this will end. We will all come back here together.”

“I know, it just felt so much like a goodbye.”

“Come on, we need to get ready.”

I walked to the bathroom and took a shower. Letting the hot water run down my body felt great. I could have stayed here forever, but I couldn’t. I still needed to see the boys again and make sure they got to the safe room safely.

“Stella, are you ready for today?”

“Yes! We’ve got this girl. I am ready to rip this man’s head off. Nobody tells us who we belong to. We also have to deal with the witch that is trying to overtake both worlds. No one deserves that much power.”

“I agree, but that is why we have the witch’s council with us. They will deal with him.”

“We will see. Just remember when I say to let me take over. You don’t hesitate.”

“I won’t, I promise.”

I cut the link with Stella and finished my shower and stepped out. I went to my closet and picked out some leggings and a sports bra with a tank over the top. I needed to move about easily. That’s what Stella said. I knew I didn’t have a lot of training, but Stella kept reassuring me that we didn’t need it and she would handle it. I finally walked out of the closet and saw Kane sitting on our bed, waiting for me.

“Come on, baby girl. We need to go, or we are going to be late.”

I grabbed his hand, and we walked to Luna Caroline’s room and found her and Avery holding the boys, getting ready to go. I walked over and took both babies from them and just held them to me, never wanting to let go. Kane finally came over and took his son from me.

“You know, we are going to have to find a nickname for him. Two Kane’s is going to be confusing.”

“I know. I was thinking of KJ. Kane Jr.”

“Perfect! Come on, let’s get everyone to the safe room.”

I grabbed Lucy’s hand and walked out with everyone. No one said a word. We finally got there, and I could see that most elderly and kids were there, along with a few people, to help tend to any issues. I held Alexander to me and kissed him and told him how much I loved him and that no matter what happened, he would have an amazing life, and then did the same with KJ. I then went to Lucy and picked her up.

“Princess, I love you so much. Please be a good girl for Grandma and Aunt Avery today.”

“I am always good, Mommy. Please hurry back with Daddy. He promised me a whole day of playing princess.”

“I will be back as soon as I can.”

“I love you, Mommy.”

“I love you too!”

I turned to Kane to see if he was ready, and he was. Luna Caroline looked at me with tears in her eyes.

“Sophia, please be careful today. We love you.”

I ran to her and wrapped my arms around her, and gave her the biggest hug ever. She has been the mother that I have missed so much. She welcomed me with open arms.

“Thank you, Mom. You have been a rock for me, no matter the situation. I love you.”

She started crying as soon as I called her mom.

“We love you too, daughter. Now go kick some butt.”

I walked over to Kane and grabbed his hand as we walked out of the safe room and headed for the forest. Kane had a bag that was supposed to be our picnic stuff, but I really had no clue what he had put in there.

“Baby girl, we got this.”

“I know we do. It’s just a hard thing to walk away from your kids knowing you may not see them again.”

“We will see them again, I promise.”

We continued to walk in silence the rest of the way. It took us a good hour to get where we were going. Kane stopped and opened the bag and pulled out a blanket for us to sit down on. I sat down and he came behind me and sat down and pulled me to him. He leaned in and whispered, “Remember, we are not lovers, and I didn’t sleep with you. He will kill me if he knows the truth.”

“Kane, your mark. What if he sees it?”

“s**t, I didn’t think about that.”

“We could have put makeup over it before we left.”

“I will just pull my shirt up and hopefully that will cover it.”

He reached back into his bag and pulled out some snacks for us. We had about ten minutes before it was time for him to show up. I knew that Trevor was around here somewhere, but I had no clue where. We started to munch on our snacks, just waiting and pretending to be comfortable.

“Girl, he is close. I can feel him. Be ready and alert.” Stella told me.

Kane leaned in again and whispered in my ear, “Baby girl, please remember that I love you and I will do everything to protect you.”

I was going to tell him that I loved him also when I heard a twig snap to the right of us and then another and another. He was here. It was time.

“Well, hello my beautiful queen,” came a deep voice that scared me a little.

I looked around for him, but I couldn’t see him yet.

“Who is here?” I yelled out. I mean, I knew who was here, but I wasn’t going to let him know that.

Finally, a tall, muscular man stepped out from some bushes and looked at me like he was going to eat me alive. It sent shivers throughout my body. He disgusted me. He had short black hair, dull brown eyes, and a sharply pointed nose, and his teeth looked like they hadn’t been brushed in years.

“My queen, I have waited years for this meeting. I am sorry it took me so long to get to you, but I am here now.” He said as he stepped closer.

“I am not your queen; I have my mates and I live here.”

“You see, I bought you a long time ago and waited for my time for you. So yes, you are my queen.” He said as he got closer.

“I will not go with you.” I got up and Kane followed me. I stepped behind him, playing my part of being scared and trusting Kane. I mean, I did trust him, but this man didn’t know what was really going on here.

The man ran his eyes over Kane and landed on his mark, and growled.

“I f*****g told you not to touch her. Why do I see a mark on your neck?”

“She just did that; didn’t tell me she was going to. I wasn’t doing anything with her. I told you she thinks I am her mate.”

The man didn’t reply, but jumped up to pounce on Kane. I wasn’t going to let that happen.

“Stella, stop him.”

She pushed forward, and I let her have complete control. She raised our hands, and she used force to push him back and hold him to the ground.

“I don’t think so. You will not touch my mate.” Yelled Stella.

“You have more power than I thought,” he said with a smirk on his face.

“You don’t even know what you are dealing with,” Stella said, with her eyes glowing even more.

“Neither do you, little girl. You need to learn your place,” he said as he looked behind him.

People started to appear everywhere. I knew he would bring backup, but not this many. He must have had over a hundred people with him. The man in the front was the same person who was at our meeting. This was the traitor witch that I needed to deal with. Before I could wrap my head around anything else, Kane went flying back and hit a tree that was behind him. He landed on the ground with a thud and was moaning in pain. This one second of me looking back at him allowed King Jag to get up. I got distracted and let my powers down.

“My queen, either you can go with me easily or I can force you. You have five seconds to make your choice.”

“Easy, I will not go with you.”

He didn’t give me a chance to think of my next move as he pounced on me and had me pinned to the ground in two seconds flat. He wrapped his hands around my neck. Goddess, where was Xander, Trevor should have opened up the portal by now.

“I told you, you stupid b***h, we could have done this easily, and I would have worshiped you, but no you’re too blinded by some fake mate bond and your other stupid Alpha who left you to see what you have in front of you. Now I will have to punish you and make you behave.”

Stella took over again and used her force to get him off of me. He went flying back but landed on his feet. Kane still hadn’t gotten up, but I couldn’t look at him. I couldn’t take my eyes off King Jag. I did that once, and it almost cost me.

“I am feeling nice. If you make this easy, I will let your little mate back there live. If not, he dies, and you will have to live with that forever.”

“You will not touch my mate! You just need to leave.”

“Please look at him. I promise I won’t do anything. Just look at him. Look at what you’re doing to him.”

I turned to look at him and could see that the witch had him pinned against the tree. His body was being turned in opposite directions, and I could see that his bones were about ready to start breaking. His face told me not to do it, but I wouldn’t let him die.

“Fine, let him go and you can have me. Just let me say goodbye.”

“Very well then.”

They let him go, and he fell to the ground, gasping for air. I ran over to him and laid my hands on his chest and Stella took over, healing any wounds he had.

“Baby girl, don’t do this. He is an evil man.”

“I don’t have a choice; I won’t let him kill you, and Xander has yet to show up.”

“He is going to kill me either way.”

“No, I won’t let it happen. Tell my kids I love them.”

I turned to walk away from him and saw King Jag staring at me with a smile on his face. Kane had just revealed the truth to him. Once I got close to him, his smell was horrible. It made me want to vomit.

“My queen, I am glad I could persuade you.”

He grabbed my arm and turned to leave when suddenly we heard the sound of paws thundering toward us.

“LET MY MATE GO!” Xander roared.
