Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 110

Sophia’s POV

I could feel both of my mates holding my hands. Each one had a hold of one of them. I had yet to open my eyes, so I didn’t know if it was day or night or what day it even was. I just wanted to bask in this feeling because I didn’t know what would await me when I opened my eyes. I could hear people talking while I was out of it, but I don’t know what they were saying. It was more like muffled noises, but I know they have been with me this whole time. One or the other or both at the same time.

“Stella, are you there?”

“Girl, I am here and I am so glad that you are awake. You gave everyone a scare. They thought you were going to die. I would not let that happen.”

“Thank you. I have so much left to do and I didn’t want to leave my kids.”

“We are not going anywhere. We have to keep these boys in line.”

“That’s a fact. We have to figure out how to make them get along again.”

“Isn’t that the truth?”

I cut off my link with her and opened my eyes. It was still dark out so it was either the middle of the night or early morning, but I was ready to wake these two up and make sure they were ok.

“Hello, my loves. Wake up.”

They both immediately opened their eyes and both of them held nothing but love in them for me.

“Beautiful, you’re awake. I am so happy to see your eyes and hear you talk.”

“Why wouldn’t I be able to talk?”

“Because you sustained injuries to your throat, and Doc wasn’t sure if you would ever be able to talk again,” Xander explained.

“Do you not remember I am an emerald wolf and have extra abilities? I am sure my wolf had something to do with it and, if I am guessing, Brooke did too.”

“She has been every single day trying to heal you. You barely even have a scar.” Xander said.

I looked over at Kane, who was still just standing there looking at me. He just smiled at me so big. It made my heart melt. He was back. My Kane was here. The guy I fell in love with before the mate bond kicked in. At that exact moment, I knew we would all be ok.

“Kane, are you ok?” I asked him.

“Yes, I just can’t believe you’re all healed. I thought I would never hear your voice again.”

“Boys, I just want to go home. I am completely healed. Stella said I was 100%. I want to be in bed with both of you.”

“Beautiful. Do you know how long you have been out for?”

“I don’t know, like, three days?”

“Try a month, baby girl. I am guessing that you are going to be weak.”

“Well, it’s a good thing that I have two strong mates that can carry me if I get too tired.”

They both laughed at that and agreed. Someone mind-linked Doc because he came into the room shortly after that.

“Sophia, I am so glad to see that you are awake. Let’s do a quick exam and I hear you want to go home.”

“Yes, my wolf says I am completely healed, and I want to be able to lie in bed with both of my mates.”

He looked down my throat and felt around my neck and had me move my head around in different directions.

“I would have to agree with your wolf. You can go home, but please take it easy. You were asleep for a long time, and you are going to be weak. It will take some time to get your stamina back up.”

Doc made a few notes in my chart and then left. Xander had pulled out some clothes for me and I jumped up out of bed. That was a mistake because I was instantly dizzy and my legs were buckling under me, but Kane was right beside me and caught me before I hit the floor.

“Why don’t you sit on the edge of the bed and let us help you get dressed,” he said as he put me back down and I sat down.

Xander came over and they both helped me out of the hospital gown and into leggings that were too big and a T-shirt and then a sweater. Before I could even try to stand up, Kane reached down and lifted me back up, and started to walk out of the room. I could hear Xander let out a low growl and storm up behind us.

“Xander, get your jealousy under control. I will not tolerate any more of this.”

“Sorry, beautiful, I am trying, I promise.”

We finally made it to our room and Kane put me down in bed and they both crawled in. One on each side of me. I rolled over and laid my head on Xander’s chest and Kane came up to my back like always.

“Please, someone tell me what happened. I remember a little bit, but I don’t remember everything.”

“Beautiful, you were amazing. Your powers are the only reason we won. King Jag is dead.”

I let out a big sigh of relief. I can’t believe he is dead, and we are all ok and safe. We’re going to be ok, now I just needed to make these boys get along.

“How are the kids?”

“They are amazing. The boys are getting bigger every day. We will go get them in the morning.” Xander said.

“What about Clarissa?”

As soon as I asked that question, I could feel Kane stiffen behind me. That wasn’t a good sign. Nobody wanted to answer me. I swear to God, if that b***h is really pregnant with Kane’s baby, I will kill her the second it is born. Nobody was answering me.

“Hello, anyone going to say anything?”

“Beautiful, she is pregnant, but we don’t know whose baby it really is.”

“OK, why haven’t you done any testing?”

“Because it can cause a risk to the baby and regardless of who the mother is, I won’t put a baby in harm’s way,” Xander said.

“I am so sorry, baby girl. I didn’t know who she was or who I was. I know that we used protection every time we were together, and I know she was sleeping with other people as well.”

“It’s OK, let’s just go to sleep, please.”

It didn’t take long for Xander’s breathing to even out, and he was sound asleep. He looked so peaceful when he was asleep. His face was completely relaxed and there were no worry lines either, or scowl lines. He seemed to have a permanent scowl these days. I know it was the stress of everything that has been going on.

“Baby girl, I know you’re not asleep. Please talk to me.”

“What do you want me to say, Kane?”

“Are you mad?”

“No, I can’t be mad, but if this is truly your baby, I am going to have a hard time raising it with you. She is a horrible person and has done horrible things to me. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have gone through as much heartache as I have.”

“I know that, regardless of whose baby it is, she will die after it is born.”

“You can’t kill her. You can’t orphan a child. I won’t allow it.”

“Then what do we do with her?”

“I don’t know yet. When is she due?”

“She has two more months.”

I didn’t reply to him anymore. I was over this conversation. I had to think fast because it wouldn’t be long, and that child would be here, and it would determine her fate. I was serious when I said she wouldn’t die, but could I banish her as a rogue with a newborn? I don’t think I could do that either. That would be a death sentence to them as well.

“Stella, what are thinking about all of this?”

“Girl, I think she needs to die for what she has done, but I know you won’t allow that. You’re a better person than me.”

“Well, since you are not a person but a wolf, then I would have to agree!”

“Someone found a sense of humor when they woke up!”

“Seriously, if this baby is not Kane’s, what would you do?”

“We can send her to another pack. I am sure Xander knows someone who would take her in and keep her in line.”

“What if it is Kane’s? He would never let the baby leave and I could never ask him.”

“We make her a rogue and take the baby in.”

“Goddess, this is a mess.”

“You got that right. Now, will you shut up so I can sleep?”

She cut me off and went and laid down in the back of my mind. I could feel that Kane had also finally fallen asleep as he was snoring lightly. I tried to sleep but wasn’t very successful. I guess that is what I get when I slept for a month straight.

The little amount of sleep I got didn’t last long as Xander crawled out of bed and went into the bathroom. I heard the shower kick on and Kane was already gone. I would not be going back to sleep, so I figured I could make it to the couch and at least watch some TV. I sat up and moved to the edge of the bed and sat there for a minute. I wanted to make sure that I would not get dizzy and fall, so I took it slow. I finally stood up and I could feel the weakness in my body as I walked to the couch. Each step was a little painful. My muscles haven’t been used in over a month, and it was going to take a while to get back to where I was, but I managed to make it to the couch.

“What are you doing out of bed?” Xander asked.

“I am not laying in bed all day, forget it. I can rest sitting on the couch.”

“I can understand that, but at least wait for help.

“Yes, sir.”

“Hilarious, where is your other mate?”

“You mean your best friend? You really need to move on from this. He deserves his position back.”

“I can’t just demote Konner; he has been excellent to me.”

“Why can’t you have two Betas?”

“I guess I could.”

“See, getting better already.”

He walked over to our small kitchen and made some breakfast for us and actually made enough for Kane as well. He was bringing a plate over to me when the door swung open and in walked Kane with both boys and Lucy.

“Mommy!” Lucy yelled, and she came running over to me and jumped in my lap, and threw her hands around my neck.

“Oh princess, I have missed you so much.”

“Are you better now?”

“I am now that you and your brothers are back here with me.”

She ran to Xander and hugged him and then reminded him about the full day of playing princess with her as soon as he was home.

Kane handed me both boys, but it was all I could do to hold them. They were so big now. I missed so much. It made me cry.

“Baby girl, why are you crying?”

“Because I missed so much. Look how big they are. I can barely hold them.”

“We have the rest of our lives with them. Let’s just live in the moment and love these kids and raise them to be powerful leaders.”

We spent the entire day in our room, laying on the couch and eating and snuggling the kids. Xander played princess with Lucy, but only for about two hours, and then they came out and we watched princess movies. It was the perfect day. Xander and Kane even managed to have a civil conversation with each other.
