Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 44

Sophia’s POV

After I shut the door on Luna Caroline I was just done. I couldn’t understand why I was so unlovable.

“Stella, did I do something wrong?”

“No, mate is bad, and we must forget him. We still have Kane and River. They love us.”

“I don’t know. How can anyone love us? Look at us. We are covered in scars, and we have been used. He will grow tired of us.”

“Don’t say that. He won’t stop loving us ever.”

“I need a hot bath to relax. I told her as I cut the mind link.

I walked into the bathroom and that’s when I saw the note and a little bottle of liquid. I read that letter about five times before I knew what I was going to do. I couldn’t keep suffering she was right and who am I to stop him from doing what he wants. Whoever this is was right he wasn’t there when I woke up and for a long time after. I won’t stop him from loving someone else. They can both be free to choose who they want.

“Stella, thank you for always being with me and doing everything you did to protect me. I love you. You have been the best wolf I could have ever asked for.”

“Sophia, you don’t have to do this. We can leave and go somewhere else. We don’t have to stay here. Please don’t do this. We’re needed here. We’re part of a big plan.”

I pushed her out of my mind and walked to the closet. I walked to the far back corner where I always seemed to go. I sat down and swirled the bottle a few times and popped the lid off and swallowed it. I don’t know what it was, but it tasted horrible and burned my throat. I sat there and read that letter over and over and cried until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer.

The next thing I know I can hear Kane and Xander yelling at each other and the sound of flesh hitting bone. I sat up trying to figure out what was going on, when I heard the sickening sound of someone bone breaking and then Kane moaning in pain on the ground.

Sophia, you’re awake.” Xander said.

“Go away Xander. You’ve ruined everything. I don’t want you.” I was trying to talk but it came out in sobs.

“Please you have to believe me that I was drugged. I didn’t know what I was doing. I would never do that to you.”

“Did you know what you were doing the night you rescued me?”

“That was different, you have to understand. Let me explain.”

“Just go away.”

“Kane, we’re not done talking about this. Come find me after dinner.” He walked away after that.

As soon as the door was closed, I tried to get out of bed, but Kane made it to me first. My whole body hurt, and I could barely move.

“Kane, please go get your jaw looked at.”

He mind linked me “Baby girl, I am fine. Not the first time I’ve broken my jaw. I just have to mind link for a few days and drink through a straw.”

“Please just go. I don’t need you here.” I sobbed out again and rolled over, so I was away from him.

“You do need me and I’m not leaving.” He mind linked me again.

“Didn’t you read the letter. I’m a disgusting w***e who doesn’t deserve this. Why would you want me? Xander obviously doesn’t. I’m nothing better than a slutty slave. Please just go. I will be gone by tomorrow. I won’t be selfish, I don’t deserve two mates, hell I don’t even deserve one. Now please go and don’t make this harder.”

I turned around to make sure he was leaving, and he had tears running down his face.

“Baby girl you are none of those things and I will leave for now, but I won’t be gone long and you’re not going anywhere. I love you.”

He finally turned around and left slamming the door as he did. “Stella are you there?”

“Yes, but I’m very weak from what you did. Also, very angry at you.”

She cut me off after that and I don’t blame her. I should have just died. Kane got there too soon.

I finally fell back asleep and had a nightmare about what Blaine and Spencer did to me but this time it was Xander and whoever these other two she wolfs are. I woke up in a cold sweat and panting like I was running but I was still lying in the hospital bed. It was dark outside, and someone had left dinner for me, but I couldn’t eat yet. I rolled over trying to find sleep again, but I couldn’t.

I got up and went and took a shower. When I got out, I found fresh pajamas in a closet that was in the bathroom. I put them on and decided that if I was leaving it was now or never. I walked to my door and opened it and was met with a wall of muscle. The muscle just happened to belong to Luke.

“Luke get out of my way.”

“No can do. Orders from the Alpha and Beta.”

“The Alpha can go f**k himself and the beta well I have nothing for him right now, but as your future Luna get out of my way.”

“Ya Kane said you would try that and to not fall for it. You’re technically not Luna yet and so therefore I don’t take orders from. Now go back to bed.” Luke said.

“I really hate you, Luke.”

“No, you don’t, you love me.”

I just turned around and went to bed.

I decided I would mind link Kane and give him a piece of my mind. “Really Kane a guard outside my door and Luke at that.”

“You just proved my point of having one. You’re not leaving without me and right now I am stuck in a meeting so we will talk later. I love you baby girl.”

Goddess, I really hated them all right now!

“Stella, are you still not talking to me?”

“What do you want? I am still mad at you!”

“I know and you have every right to be but I am so tired of this. He is supposed to be the one of two people that love me and that letter was right. Who says he can’t have two mates, if I can so can he.”

“No, we have two mates for a reason. We need two. They balance us. They bring the good and the bad. It’s just that one mate is really bad. We have to know more about him being poisoned Before we can make up our minds on what we do. He can still be our mate but that doesn’t mean we have to love him.”

“I know but the stupid mate bond makes it hard. It makes me want to love regardless.”

“I know and if I could break that part, I would tell you how, but we can’t.”

“All I ever wanted was for just one person to love me. I know I have that with Kane, he is amazing and would never hurt us, but Xander is supposed to as well and he has proven to me over and over that he doesn’t. Just tell me what to do Stella.”

“I don’t know right now. Let’s sleep on it. Sleep always helps.”
