Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 53

Xander’s POV

“What do you mean you don’t see it on the map?”

“Look we’ve been living on a mountain side since Jules came back. I don’t know what happened when she came home, but almost immediately they started building houses on the mountain side and we moved a few months later.”

“This is the most up-to-date map we have. It has to be here.”

“I’m telling you it’s not here.”

I was getting nowhere with this i***t. The girls finally left for shopping, and we have been arguing ever since. He says the mountain they live on isn’t on the map and this is the most current map we have.

“Since we can’t find it on the map, maybe you can tell us any important landmarks, or do you know how to get there?”

“Alpha, I can’t. I literally don’t know. We have several witches that live in our pack, and they keep placing spells on us, so we don’t remember how we got in or out. We always have one person with us that doesn’t have a spell on them to get us in and out.”

“Why didn’t you start with that? You could hav3 saved us a lot of time?”

He just shrugged his shoulders at me. I hate teenagers. They don’t know what the f**k they are talking about and their communication sucks.

“Why, don’t we break for lunch and afterwards let’s see if Emily and Trevor can help us.” My dad said.

We left my office and went to the dining hall and fixed our plates. We had just started to eat when I got several mind links at once. There were too many coming in to understand them, but they had been saying something about Sophia. Kane must have been getting some also because we both jumped up and took off to the cars. We jumped into an SUV, and I took off towards the mall as fast as I could. It was usually a 30 min drive, but I made it in 20.

I put up a block to everyone but my mom to try and figure out what was going on. She finished telling me as we parked.

“Some of her old pack members saw her and they started yelling at her and threatening her. She had a panic attack and is now unconscious in the dressing room.”

We got there and the guards had the girls detained and my mom and Avery and Sara were all crying, trying to get Sophia to wake up. We kicked them out of the dressing room and we each took a knee on each side of her and tried waking her up. It took a few minutes, but she finally opened her beautiful eyes and it felt like my heart stopped and started beating again when she did.

“Baby girl, let’s go home. Don’t worry, those girls are gone and will be dealt with by their Alpha. We have already contacted him.”

Kane helped her and we both tried to take her hand, but she pulled her hand away from mine. I guess I deserved that. I’ve been a d**k to her.

“I am so sorry girls. I really didn’t mean to ruin our fun. Plus, I still don’t have my dress. Avery you are buying that dress,” Sophia said.

“I already did. We will see you at home.”

We walked out to the car, and I had mind linked a guard to drive us home. She instantly crawled into Kanes lap and started to cry again. Kane started to rub his hand up and down her back and tell her it would be OK. That those girls wouldn’t hurt her and that nobody ever would ever harm her.

“I am so sorry. I don’t know why they affected me so much. I know they can’t hurt me anymore. It just brought everything back.

“Beautiful, we would never let anything happen to you. It will be OK. We can bring the dress shop to you at the pack house.”

She lifted her head and just glared at me. She was so angry with the way I treated her today.

“Why do you care? You wouldn’t even talk to me today. You just yelled at me and told me you didn’t have time for me. Why are you here?”

“Beautiful, I didn’t mean it like that.”

“Just shut it Xander, I don’t want to hear it. Either I am your mate and your equal and you treat me with respect, or you don’t. You don’t get to choose the days you want me around and the days you don’t. Until you decide what you want, do not talk to me.”

I just hung my head in shame and kept my mouth shut. I know I had no right to be saying anything right now, but I just wanted her to feel better. She was my mate also and I can’t even go near her right now because of my stupidity.

I didn’t say anymore on the way home. Once we pulled in, I got out without another word and stormed off to my office. I sent Kane a mind link “take her to our room and back to my office now.” I didn’t have time to for any of this right now. I had to find my daughter and as much as I love Sophia, I have to leave her out for now. I can’t bring this stress onto her.

I stormed into my office and found my dad and Miles talking with Emily and Trevor. They were huddled over the map.

“Did you figure anything out?”

“Xander, why are you here?” asked my dad.

“We need to find them.”

“And we will, son. Right now, you need to go be with Sophia. She needs you.”

“No dad, my daughter needs me. Sophia can wait. I don’t have time to baby her.”

My dad jumped up and came over and got in my face. “Son, you don’t know that she is your daughter, but you know what you do know. You know that Sophia is your mate, and she is hurting right now. She was verbally attacked today to the point that she passed out. You need to pull your head out of your a*s before you lose her. She is still fragile.”

“Dad, you don’t get it. This is my only chance at having a pup. This is something Sophia can’t give me and it’s something I want so badly.”

“Is it more important than your mate? The one who the moon goddess chose for you. The one who is your perfect half. I thought you loved her more than that, but I was wrong.” He spat at me as he walked out of my office. I growled at everyone else to get out. They did so fairly quickly, but Kane came barging into my office just as soon as they left.

“What the f**k is your problem?” Kane yelled at me.

“Everything is my problem. I don’t know what to do. I love Sophia just as much as you, but she can’t give us the one thing we’ve always wanted. Pups. I have a daughter out there and I can’t find her and how can I expect Sophia to want to be a part of her life? I can’t tell her.”

“So, you are just going to show up with a toddler that looks like you and be like surprise. You can’t give me kids, so I kidnapped the daughter I didn’t know about for us to raise. Also, she can’t give me a pup either and you don’t see me acting like a fool. Get your s**t together and go talk to her.”

“I don’t know how to tell her.”

“The truth. She knows about Jules. She may surprise you.”

He left my office after that, and he was right. I did need to talk with her, but I just wasn’t ready. I needed to find a way to apologize first because I’d screwed this up so badly. How many times will this poor girl forgive me? If I keep going, I will lose her for good.

“No s**t and if you do that, then I am going to leave too. I can’t live without her. This is my one warning to you,” Jax said.
