Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 54

Sophia’s POV

Kane took me to our room, but I didn’t want to be anywhere that had Xanders scent. It just made it worse.

“Kane, why does he hate me? Am I that awful? I know I’m not as pretty as his past lovers, but I am his mate. Why can’t he love me like you do? You love me unconditionally and him whenever it’s convenient.”

“Baby girl, you are so much more than them and I promise you that he loves you all the time. He is just going through some stuff right now.”

“What is he going through that he gets the right to treat me like garbage?”

“That is his story to tell.”

“So you know?”

“Yes, I do and I can’t talk about it.”

“You know what, get out. I don’t want to see either of you until someone tells me what’s going on.”

“Baby girl, don’t be like that. He is struggling right now. We both love you so much.”

“If you loved me, then you wouldn’t keep secrets and he wouldn’t treat me this way. Just go away. I want to be alone.”

He finally left me sitting on the couch.

“Stella, am I being unreasonable?”

“No, mates should do what they are doing.”

I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. I must have fallen asleep because I was dreaming about being back in my old pack and I was in the punishment room and was receiving a punishment and the two girls from today were in there laughing along with Xander. I finally woke up in a cold sweat and a pounding heart. I needed a shower, and I promised Avery, I would help her get ready, but I knew nothing about hair and make-up.

I walked into my room and grabbed some clothes and headed to the guest bathroom. I need some space right now. I went in there and the room was really nice and simple. It had a king-sized bed, and everything was done in lush green and cream colors. The bathroom was identical to ours, just smaller. I walked in and took a quick shower and washed my hair.

After getting dressed and brushing my hair out, I made my way to Avery’s room. I knocked on the door and walked in. It was like girl world exploded in there. There was make-up and hair stuff all over her vanity and her bed was covered in clothes.

“Avery, why do you have half your closet on your bed?”

“I don’t know what to wear!”

“You bought a dress just for tonight, so how about you wear that?”

“I don’t know.”

“Girl, your impossible.”

She just shrugged her shoulders at me and continued to curl her hair. I just sat and watched amazed. I knew nothing about any of this and I would like to learn a little. An hour later, she was finally done with her hair and make-up and now just needed to get dressed. She went into her bathroom and emerged ten minutes later looking like a goddess.

“Hot dam, girl, you look amazing. Trevor won’t be able to keep his hands off you.” I told her.

“What time are you meeting him?”

“Ten minutes ago. A girl has to be fashionably late. Come on and walk me down the stairs.”

She took my hand, and we walked downstairs. Trevor was waiting at the bottom and the second he laid his eyes on her you could see he got nervous.

“Um, wow. You look, well there are no words for you look Avery.”

“Thank you, Trevor. Should we go?”

He grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it. Completely sweeping Avery off her feet. You could see it in the look on her face.

“You two have fun.” I told them as I headed back upstairs. I was ready to lay down alone.

I went into my room and grabbed my pillow and headed into the spare room. I shut the door and locked it. I went and turned on some movie and crawled under the covers. The movie turned out to actually be a little scary-so I turned on my latest binge-watching series.

“Beautiful, wake up! Please wake up. You’re having a nightmare.”

I could hear Xander talking but was having a hard time waking up fully. I was suddenly picked up and that brought me out of my trance completely. I was breathing hard and again I was all sweaty. I can’t remember this dream, but from the way I feel, it wasn’t a good one.

I moved off Xander and went to the bathroom. I was all sticky and needed to rinse off. Xander was right behind me.

“Xander, I’m fine, please go away.”

“No! I will not leave you alone right now.”

Oh boy was that the wrong thing to say to me. I can feel Stella pushing forward and right now I’m not going to stop her. I closed my eyes to focus on her.

“I have already warned you once. You either need to shape up or will ship out and I don’t know what happened to the loving, caring mate I had, but the mate I have now is an a*****e and I don’t want him. Until he can talk to us and be honest, he can go suck a d**k!”

He didn’t reply or stop me from getting in the shower. He just stood there watching me.

When I got out, he was gone. I slipped back into bed and fell back into a dreamless sleep this time.

I woke up alone, which had my heart aching a little, but it’s what I wanted. It’s the dang mate bond that is doing it to me.

After getting ready, I went downstairs for breakfast and then I was off to training.

I met Avery at breakfast, and she was all smiles.

“So, I’m guessing that your date went well?”

“Sister, it was better than OK. We have so much in common and well, our good night k**s was the longest one I’ve ever had and also the best.”

“Avery, that makes me so happy for you. I told you he wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off you in that dress.”

We finished eating and I had yet to see or hear from my mates. I figured they would be here eating. They don’t miss meals.

I walked out to the training area to meet Emily and Trevor. To my surprise Luna Caroline was there. Kane was with me yesterday, I figured he would be here today. I tried to mind link him and Xander and they both had a block up.

“Sophia, I am excited for today. I want you to manipulate more things. Let’s start with those half-dead flowers. I want you to picture them alive and thriving.”

I closed my eyes and called Stella forward and focused on those flowers. Soon I heard Luna Caroline gasp. I opened up my eyes and could see the flowers now, they looked better than ever.

“Sophia, I think your healing power is very strong. Now I want to work on some defensive powers. Can you shift for us? We have a few guards coming to help.”

I went over behind a tree and called Stella forward and gave her control.

“Girl, we really don’t need practice. We were born to do this. Just release all control to me and sit back and be amazed.”

I gave her all the control and sat back and watched. Two guards came over and stopped as soon as they saw us.

“Luna Caroline is everything OK?”

“Yes, I’ve called you over because your future Luna needs some practice, and I would like for you guys to attack her.”

“We cannot do that. If we value our lives, then we won’t be doing that.”

“I will handle the Alpha and Sophia here is ready. She will let me know if it is too much for her. Understand?”

“Yes ma’am.”

They both went and shifted and came back and just sat there waiting for more instructions. I am not sure what happened but they both got snarls on their faces and started growling at us. Stella wasn’t scared, she was excited about this.

The first one lunged at us and we just ducked, and they went flying over. It didn’t take long for the second one to come at us, but Stella stood her ground. Suddenly, the wind picked up and it was strong, so strong that the wolf was pushed back before he went tumbling about 50 feet. We lost track of the other wolf because suddenly he was on our back, but Stella seemed to be in control and not afraid. She bucked her front legs up shaking him off her and kicked him with her hind legs getting a good ten feet between us. I could feel the wind start to pick up and he rolled another ten feet away.

Emily stepped forward and waved her hands at the two guards and then told us all to go shift back.

I went over to my clothes and shifted back. “Stella, that was amazing. I didn’t know we could do any of that.”

“We’ve only just started showing our powers. We can do about anything imaginable.”

“Can you make our mates be nice?”

“Free will is something we can’t do.”

I cut our link and walked back over to everyone. Both guards looked sorry for what happened even though I wasn’t hurt.

“Thank you two for helping. That will be all and not a word of this to anyone.” Luna Caroline said, dismissing them.

“Child, that was incredible. Has your wolf told you anything else about your powers?”

“She said she doesn’t need training. That she knows how to do it all.”

“Well, with your powers you are correct, but as far as fighting in combat you need training. I would like you to work with Clark. There is a reason he has lived for a long time.”

We headed back to the pack house, and I still wasn’t able to mind link either Kane or Xander.

“Luna Caroline, do you know where Kane and Xander are? I haven’t seen them all day and they both have a block up so I can’t get through to them.”

“They went on a small mission, that is all I know. Alpha Ty wouldn’t tell me except that they would be back late tonight.”

“They left and didn’t tell me? What have I done to them to make them be like this? I don’t understand?”

“You didn’t do anything. They both love you. Sometimes they just have to do secret missions and can’t tell us.”

“Ya but Alpha Ty told you goodbye at least. I haven’t seen either of my mates since yesterday.”

“Please try not to worry. Why don’t we have a movie night? My room. Snacks and movies all night.”

“No thank you.” I told her as I walked off to go to my room to shower.
