Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 73

Xander’s POV

We managed to make it through Kane’s services, and it seemed that Lucy was the key to making Sophia feel better. Lucy also seemed to take a big liking to Sophia. She didn’t leave her side for the whole dinner. She was getting tired and so I went and found Miles. I wanted to talk to him about her staying with us.

“Miles, thank you for your help with Lucy. That little girl has made us all fall in love with her. She is something special. I don’t know how well my mate would have done today without her.”

“She is defiantly a special girl.”

“I want to talk to you about her moving into our place.”

“As much as I love her, I think that would be the best thing. You are her father and Sophia has been more of a mother to her than she ever had.”

“Thank you, we are planning on taking her shopping tomorrow to pick out her own bedroom.”

“I will have her ready for you what time?”

“Ten and thank you. I am really glad that you asked for mercy with us and brought her to us and you also. You have been valuable with all of this. I would also like to officially make you a pack member. Unless you want to go to your old pack and take charge. It is rightfully yours.”

“No, I don’t want it. They disgust me.”

“I thought you might want to stay. How about we make you official in two days?”

“Thank you, sir.”

I walked back over to Sophia and Lucy. Lucy was sitting in Sophia’s lap half asleep.

“Lucy, I have a question for you.”

“What daddy?”

“Would you like to live with mommy and me?”

“Can I have a princess room?”

“How about we go shopping tomorrow and find a princess bed?”

“YEA!!”

That was easier than I thought it would be. I picked up Lucy and took her over to Miles so he could put her to bed.

“I love you daddy.”

“I love you too Lucy, have a good night. We will see you in the morning, to go shopping.”

Miles turned and took her to their room. I walked back over to my mate who was talking with some pack members. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her.

“Hello, beautiful, are you ready to turn in for the night?”

“Can we actually go for a run? Stella needs to burn some energy.”

“Jax thinks that is an amazing idea.”

I led her outside and we walked to the clearing and found a tree to strip behind. We threw our clothes into a pile and we both quickly shifted. Jax stretched out and walked over to Stella. He rubbed his snout on her face as if he was comforting her. He was hurting as well. She took off and I followed behind her, letting her lead the way. This was her run; she was in charge. We would do whatever she needed. She continued to run, and I knew exactly where she was heading. We were running straight towards our little lake. This was one of Kane’s favorite spots as well. Once we got there, we both got a drink and just laid down and let our wolves cuddle up with each other.

“Beautiful, this was perfect to come here. We are going to be ok; we will get through this.”

“I know but it’s going to be hard. I miss him so much already. His side of the bed is so cold, and I feel it in my heart. It’s like half my heart has died.”

“I know and if I could change it I would.”

She didn’t answer me back, but we just laid there in our wolf form snuggling. We stayed there for several hours. There was something that felt just right being here. It felt like Kane was watching over us. Stella stood up and started to head back to where our clothes were. We shifted back and got dressed.

“Thank you for this tonight. There is something about being there that I feel close to him.”

“Me too beautiful, that was his favorite place to go. If I couldn’t find him anywhere, I knew he was there.”

“Let’s go to bed, we have a princess to take shopping tomorrow.”

We headed to our room and when we got there, she headed to the guest room.

“Beautiful, we need to stay in our room. Lucy moves in tomorrow.”

“I know just one more night please?”

I couldn’t say no to her. I just followed her to bed and crawled in with her, pulling the covers over us. She laid her head on my chest and snuggled as close as she could.

I was woken up by banging on our door. Sophia didn’t even move she was sound asleep still. I slipped out of bed and threw my pants on and shut the door behind me. I ripped the front door open getting ready to yell at whoever was on the other side.

“DADDY! It’s shopping day! Can we leave now?”

“Princess it’s early and mommy is sleeping.”

“Sorry, I couldn’t hold her back anymore. She has been ready for like two hours.”

“It’s like seven am. She’s been up since five.”

“Yup, good luck man.”

Miles walked away laughing leaving me with Lucy. She was a ball of energy for this early.

“Princess what do you want to do until mommy gets up?”

“Can we cook breakfast?”

“I really don’t know how to cook. Why don’t we go downstairs and get breakfast.”

“NO! I wanna cook it.”

“Hey, we don’t yell, ok?”

“Ok daddy.”

“Now let’s go downstairs and we can bring it up here ok.”

She just nodded her head at me. I went and got a shirt, and we walked downstairs and fixed some plates to go and came back to our room. We walked in and the guest room door was open, and our door shut.

“Princess let’s turn on cartoons while you eat and I’m going to check on mommy.”

“Princess cartoons.”

Crap, I don’t even know what a princess cartoon is. I grabbed Lucy and turned the TV on, and we flipped through different shows trying to find something. Finally, I landed on something that had her squealing with happiness. I put her food in front of her and went to the shower where Sophia was.

“Beautiful, are you ok?”

“Yup, just needed a shower before shopping.”

“Ok I’m going to go back to the living room”

“Come join me, we have a few hours.”

“No, we don’t, she is currently eating breakfast and watching cartoons in the living room.”

“Oh, she is one of those children that gets up super early. We can k**s sleeping in away.”

I walked back into the living room and found the giant mess Lucy had made. I just g*****d and cleaned everything up. I really had a lot to learn about kids.

Ten hours later and a credit card was on fire we were back at our place. I had Lucy’s room cleared out and painted pink. It was a surprise for both of them. Her furniture will be here tomorrow. We took all of Lucy’s stuff up to our room and went to give her to Miles’ room, but she wasn’t having any of it.

“I thought I live with you now?”

“Princess, we have to get your room set up first.”

“I want to stay tonight.” She cried.

“You have nowhere to sleep.”

“With you and mommy.”

I looked at Sophia who just shook her head, yes.

“Ok princess. Only tonight and then you will have your own bedroom, ok?”

“Ok daddy.”

We went to our room, and I showed the girls my surprise for them. They loved it. Lucy just laid down on the floor talking about what she would play with first tomorrow.

“Beautiful I think our s*x life is over for a while.”

“She has grandparents and a brother and there’s always day care. Definitely not over!”
