Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 96

Xander’s POV

Dinner had gone well, until Eric or Kane or whatever the f**k you want to call him dropped that bombshell on us. He was working for King Jag. I knew he was lying about where he came from. I have no clue what he has told him, and I have no clue what to do with him. Part of me wants to trust him because he came clean, but he only came clean because of his son. We are currently staring at each other, not saying a word.

There was a knock at the door and Sophia got up to answer it and my dad walked in. She must have mind linked him. It was probably for the best. The only thing keeping me calm was the fact that we both had a baby in our hands.

“Son, Sophia mind linked me and told me what happened. I think it’s best if we all talk about this. I don’t want anyone to lose their temper and regret something. Your mom is on her way to take the boys.”

“Thank you, dad.”

It didn’t take long for my mom to get here. I owe this woman so much. She is always there for me and always watching the kids at the drop of a hat.

“Thank you, mom. We will be back soon.”

I handed her Alexander, and she walked over to Eric and went to take Kane from him. He gave his son another k**s and told him he loved him regardless of this outcome and then handed him to my mom.

We all walked out of the room and headed to my office. I sent Konner a mind link asking him to meet us there also. He needed to be here for this. We all made it to the office and the second the door was closed I couldn’t hold back anymore; I turned and punched him in the face.

“What the hell was that for?” He yelled.

“Because you’re an i***t. You put our mate in danger.”

“Listen, I didn’t know what I was doing. His story and your story aren’t the same.”

“Well, you have about five seconds to explain before I knock your lights out.” I seethed out.

“Ok, let me start from the beginning. He found me in the woods not far from where his pack is located. He took me in. I was in rough shape. I don’t know what happened to me, I had no memories. He took me to a doctor and got me medical care. After I was better, he moved me into his pack house. I started out as an omega and quickly worked my way up. Once I was better, I asked to start training. I didn’t know what I was doing but it felt natural. I felt like I should be out there.”

“You should, you’re a b***d-born beta. It’s in your b***d to literally fight.” Konner said.

“He will always let someone start training. The more fighters he has the better in his opinion. I was quickly working my way up the ropes in training and soon I was the lead warrior. Being a lead warrior, he sent me on different missions, and I always brought our guys back with me. The next thing I knew I was his third in charge. He doesn’t rank guys as you do. He says he is a king and just has people below him. Second in charge and third in charge but he is always number one and he has no loyalties to anyone but everyone better have loyalties to him. We attacked you guys a while back. I believe you may still have some of the warriors.”

“We do, and they really won’t talk. I promise they aren’t in good shape. It doesn’t matter what I do they keep their mouth shut.”

“That’s because they know if they talk King Jag will take whatever family they have and torture them and he will do it in front of you if he can.”

“How did you ever think this was right?”

“I never said I did, but I had to survive. I wanted to know who I was and where I came from.”

“So why does he want Sophia?” I asked him.

“He said that he was meeting with Alpha Wayne, and he mentioned that he had a special wolf. I am not really sure what all transpired but from what I have learned he says that he bought her when she was a child and had her parents killed. He was supposed to get her when she became of age, but something happened, and from what I saw earlier Xander, and I saved her, and you know the rest of the story.”

“You need to tell me what all you have told him about our pack, and I will give you one warning, do not lie to us,” I growled out. I couldn’t help it. I was still so angry.

“I haven’t yet. When I first got here, I was so confused that I called him and demanded to know what was going on and why everyone thought I was this Kane guy. He says he has known since he found me. He said he had his suspicions and so he had someone sneak in here and get something of mine and ran a DNA test to confirm it. He was using me to get to you. I think he was hoping that I would not believe you guys and continue to think that I was Eric and feed him information, but I won’t and I haven’t told him anything yet. I have a son that I want to be around to help raise, but if he finds me and finds out he will kill me. That is where I need you Xander to promise me that whatever happens, you will protect my son.”

“First off, can we please stop calling you Eric, it’s literally killing me?” I asked him. I hated it. Now that I knew for sure that it was Kane, I couldn’t keep calling him Eric.

“Ya, you can call me Kane, since that is my real name.”

“Thank you, now Kane, you need to know that I love your son like my own. He was literally born five seconds later. Whatever happens, your son will be protected, and he is the future Beta of this pack.”

“I appreciate that. I am willing to do whatever it takes to earn your guys’ trust and I want to work with you on this. I will protect the Luna with everything I have. King Jag made me a rouge before I left. So, I have no ties to him.”

“Kane, it is great to have you back. I know you don’t remember me, but you were like a son to Luna Caroline and me and this pack hasn’t been the same since you left.”

This meeting went very differently than I had expected, but I believe everything he has said and Jax agrees. I still don’t trust him completely yet; he has to earn that.

“Kane, I would like for you to turn your phone over to me. I do plan on having you call King Jag as you would. You will feed him false information, while we come up with a plan. I am also going to need more information about his pack as well.”

“Anything you want is yours. I would like to ask to spend some time with my son and I would also like to spend some time with the Luna.”

“Of course. Just out of precaution, there will be guards until I know we can trust you. Ok, let’s call this for the day. We will meet tomorrow.”

We all got up and I went to my room to see my beautiful mate and kids. Lucy should be home by now. We have been keeping her away, so she didn’t see Kane. She would be so confused.

“How did it go?” Sophia asked as soon as I came through the door.

“Better than I thought it would. He came clean about everything. He really is working for King Jag.”

“What? The sicko that wants to kidnap me?”

“Yes, but he said now that he has a son, he wants to be here for him. He wants to be a part of his life and help raise him. He also wants to get to know you. I don’t think he remembers anything, but I think that he feels something for you.”

“Really?”

“Yes, beautiful.”

“How do you feel about that?”

“Well, I know he is your other mate, we just need to figure out how to reestablish the bond, if that is what you want.”

“Yes, I do. I miss him and I just hope he is the same person as he was before.”

“I believe he is. Things he said tonight were exactly what Kane would have said. He also said that he would like to be called Kane and not Eric.”

“Oh, that makes me even happier.”

“Now where is my little princess, I haven’t seen her in what feels like ages. I think I need to have a princess party.”

“She is in her room and waiting for you to be here.”

I went and kissed Sophia and went into Lucy’s room.

“Princess, will you have a princess party with me?”

“DADDY!” She screamed and ran over to me and wrapped her little arms around my legs.

“So how about that princess party?”

“Will you wear a Tierra?”

“If that is what you want me to wear princess.”

She ran to her toy box and handed a Tierra. I put it on and went and sat down by her little table so we could start this party.
