Chapter 49

Picking up a file, Hannah resumed work trying to focus on her job as she had come late to work that day but it was rather impossible, her mind kept drifting to Shawn, she never imagined many things but never expected that her husband would turn out to be an Alpha. that was something that if anyone had told her about she would have disagreed because Shawn was just so himself, nothing about it would make you suspect that he was an Alpha and he wasn't looking like one. not that they had a way they looked but she was just so different, why some alphas are rumored to be cruel towards their fellow werewolves, Shawn was nice towards her, other Alpha would have gotten mad at her and punished her for lying and deceiving them but Shawn did no such thing. so many times he cared about her and even helped her at one point head to the supermarket to buy her sanitary pad that was something that she did not expect I never realized that the man she had been living with was the one most powerful man in the park and most feared.

"How could I not see it even when it was staring at me? wasn't I being observant? couldn't I have noticed it sooner?" somewhere in her heart she hoped to have noticed this a long time ago, picking up a broken Mirror that was lying on her desk she stared at the reflection through the mirror wondering how an illegitimate daughter like her will turn her to have a mate who is an Alpha.

Shawn was everything, but she was nothing, she was just an ordinary human werewolf who had lived all through her life being despised by others, this was not something that she planned for, when she wanted them to be honest with themselves she was hoping to find out a little more about G and not about herself and Shawn, she was scared what he wanted to tell her, and she told him to wait till she gets back home perhaps this has something to do with the thing that he said that he felt toward her But she has not felt anything like that before she has lived all through her life not expecting much since she was an illegitimate daughter and her father did not recognize her in that way, and neither did her stepmother and sister, no one did not even her ex-boyfriend Mike who cheated so many times because of the fact that she was illegitimate and doesn't belong, it felt as if she couldn't fit in anywhere no place could contain.

It wasn't until she met Shawn and got married to him did she felt Visible, he was the only one who looked at her and wanted to know what was wrong with her, the one who seemed to care about her even when she was not in the mood and had a lot going on in her life and at the office. she was still glad that he wanted to know even though he had his own problem that she did not know about, until recently when he revealed everything to her and then she got to know that he was someone else and not the man he said he was. however, she would be a hypocrite if she got mad at him because she also came as a fake bride, his fake bride. Raking, her hand to her hair she wondered what he was doing back home and if he was thinking about her or anything about the conversation just as she was, she couldn't get her mind to stop thinking about him and everything that they talked about.

"Are you all right?" her colleague asked her as he leaned in towards her desk, he must have noticed the difference since she came to work Late, which was unlike her, she was not in the mood to talk with anybody, she only wanted to cool off and think about everything that happened, but then her colleagues have suddenly become interested in her, and perhaps they were doing this since Ashley was not around and couldn't stop anyone or trying to create a scene so that people will think that she was not a good person. "Yes I am, why are you asking?"

"That is because you are just different today,"

"Under the weather, I guess"

"Alright, do you need help with anything, I can assist you before the Boss comes and notice your lateness"

"Traffic, I have no other choice but I'll get to work right away"

"Hannah, I am not going to report and certainly don't care why you came late all have our problems, but I just wanted to help you in case an extra hand in getting your work done before close closing time or lunch break, except you got it covered" "I think I do but thanks"

"Anytime Hannah" She watched as Her colleague walked away, she couldn't get anything done and certainly didn't help, but couldn't ask for it because she just wanted the time to be on her own so she could figure out what would happen once you got back home, Shawn was going to be there and they are going to talk"

As she looked at the many files scattered on the desk, she wanted to dive right into work so she wouldn't have to stay overtime at the office, but she kept thinking about him wondering if she could survive as just an ordinary wolf by his side, she may not know what will happen but their marriage was not something fake and since neither of them wanted a divorce, she was going to be by my side and with everything that he said to her she was not sure that she was ever going to leave his side again, nevertheless that didn't stop her from wondering if she was doing the right thing or if she should just forget about everything that he has said to her and focus on working so hard to help her mother that was what life has always been for her until he came around and noticed her.
