Chapter 62: Dinner at the house

"All right, I won't Stare at you anymore, but can we please talk" ""only after dinner"

He nodded his head and continued to cut the vegetables, she smiled at him. Shawn was a funny man and even though he was cute when he was angry, she also felt that she needed to tell him the reason why she could not follow him to his Pack. they've come a long way and she will not want to ruin what they had together.

"how was work today?"

"it was good"

did anything happen?"

"Why are you suddenly interested in my work?"

"What are you talking about? I have always been interested in everything that has to do with you and you know that. why are you acting this way?"

"You ignored me last night, how do you think I should act?"

"I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't have walked out on you like that, but if I had stayed, you know what would have happened"

that doesn't justify anything at all"

"you are being so difficult and unreachable, that was the only way that I could stop us from arguing I'm talking about the same thing over again" "he wanted to stop us, yet you made a decision for us to live together"

"How does going to your Pack have anything to do with me?"

"I know that we are married and decided not to divorce but then we are not mates, and then and I'm afraid"

"tell me what are you scared of?"

she ran her fingers through her hair, Hannah was not certain that she should tell him about her worries, which might complicate the situation. "Don't worry about it, and let it go, forget I said anything and cut the vegetables let's have dinner, I'm starving and want to get to rest"

"Movie"

"Huh?"

"let's watch a movie together night" Shawn was trying everything possible to make sure that they ended up talking and not arguing, ever since they moved to this city they both have not had the time to watch a movie together, and now it seems like the best time. "I don't think it might be possible today, I'm exhausted and besides you want us to talk so we shall talk, perhaps we will have the time to watch a movie some other day but not today"

"Really? Are we really going to talk"

"yes, and don't make me change my mind"

"I won't" he continued cutting the vegetables in silence, but every second that passed by, he would turn and glance back at her, the aroma of food wafting across the room. Hannah was a good cook which was why, Shawn always loved her preparing dinner and breakfast for him even though he could make a simple meal for himself.

"you're one of the best cooks I've ever seen, where did you learn it?"

"I spent most of my time in the kitchen after college so I just had to cook for myself and sometimes for others"

That piqued Shawn's interest and he wanted to know If Mike was among the people that she had cooked for. She mentioned that He was her boyfriend and why they were in college and so he wanted to know if he was the one she was talking about. But then it would be stupid of him to ask and so he decided to let it go so as not to infuriate her even more.

"what are you thinking?" As if she had sensed that something was amiss with him.

"all right, by the way, how are your parents?"

"Good, they are back home, and so everything is good for the meantime but the enemies are closer than I think and so I will have to move quickly before he Strikes Again, this time, I would like to get him first before he gets to anyone of my loved ones" Hannah had never imagined that she would be among his loved ones, but then she meant a lot more to him than she could ever realize.

"your loved ones? sounds cliché to me"

"that is nothing Cliche about it, my parents, the pack, every member of my pack I love them and then there is you,"

Her body heated up, and as her face flushed, she fanned herself, clearing her throat and taking some steps to the fridge, opening it she took out a bottle of water, and he quickly grabbed it from her. "what are you doing?"

"no, if you drink right now you won't be able to eat all of this and there's more" you

"you are the one who started to make a large dinner not me"

"yes because I know you skipped breakfast this morning, you lost your appetite and left that having your breakfast, I wanted to get it through to you but then I realized that last night was just so messed up and if I show my face in your company, you might not be happy with me" "no, we would have talked, I thought about you all through work and the only few times that I stopped Thinking was only because I was distracted by my colleague"

"so you're trying to tell me that I was the one who filled your thoughts this morning"

"don't get ahead of yourself, Shawn"

"I love the way you say my name, no one else says it better than you do"

she rolled her eyes, could this not get any better? Shawn was right behind her already, making her feel things that she hated. "Shawn please, don't start, I will still have dinner to finish"

"food is on fire everything is ready what more?"

"There is so much more that we could do and talk about, why don't you go first?"

"I always go first why don't you go first this time around, tell me what happened to your parents?"

"I've already told you everything, the enemy tries to help them And I need to find who this person is and make them pay for everything they've done to me so that they can never hurt another person" "Do you have any Suspects?"
