Chapter 80: Memory lane

Shawn was sad as he walked into his room and sat down on the bed. Glancing around a smile curled up his lips as he realized that everything was still as it was when he left this place. his parents did not touch anything and did not move anything out of the room as he left. They hung onto the hope that one day he would return to this place to live with them once again. this was his home and the day that they were no longer going to be around he was going to live here with his Luna and their kids.

Shawn will always remember his mum telling him all that all the time, however those memories are not just enough to make him happy. he was deeply saddened and unhappy that everything was turning out this way, if there was one thing he had imagined it was to take Hannah around the pack and show her the many things that he grew up with. he wanted her to see a lot of people in his pack and make friends as well.

Standing up, he walked towards the bed stand and picked up the portrait that was on the bed, it was his childhood photo, his father had taken a picture of him playing basketball on children's day. His father had come to cheer him up as he watched from the sidelines. "Who would have thought?" He lowered down the portrait and looked around even more. When he took a step towards the album and his awards, the door opened and Lily entered the room. she was an Omega who had been serving her parents for so long and they were friends as well. She had heard that he had returned and had come over to welcome him. Lily was such a good friend to him and he loved her.

"I heard you are back, Alpha"

"How many times have I told you not to call me that?"

"And yet I disapprove of it, you are my Alpha and I'm going to accord you with respect even if no one does, that is the best I can do for you and your family for everything that you've done for me"

Shawn raises his hands defeatedly, he knows better than to argue with her because he is not going to win and isn't even in the right frame of mind. He was happy to be home but at the same time sad, angry, and wanted nothing more than to smash the face of everyone who had disapproved of Hannah including his parents.

"How are you feeling?"

"I don't know how to describe it" "Say how you feel"

"Happy, Angry, Deep Sadness, confused, I'm anxious to know what will happen if I decide to go and talk to the rest of the werewolves myself. I don't know Lily, but it seems as though I have no control over this one at all, I have never been so useless in my entire life that I am failing to protect the one that I really care about"

"Is that your parents or are you talking about Hannah?"

"Of course not, I'm talking about Hannah. My Parents Are Alright, they don't look as though they need me to worry about them, but Hannah needs me and I promised her that my parents will welcome her with open arms. I had no idea that this was going to happen, if I had known this, I would have devised another plan, but I didn't answer and I feel so worthless that I can't do anything for her."

Lily could tell that he was in a great upheaval, he was battling with himself, as his emotions were getting the best of him and he did not know which to go for.

"You only have to take it one step at a time and see how everything will turn out in the end, if you really want her then you have to go for her, but then you must realize that not everyone is going to hop on the bandwagon with you and support you, not even your parents, you might entirely lose them if you do this, but if you choose not to do this and go for your pack, reclaim your position as the Alpha and lead the people, then you will lose her forever as well"

"Does it have to always be like this? do I have to lose something that I care about for me to be an Alpha?"

"It doesn't always have to be this way but sometimes it is the people involved that make it impossible for us, and your parents will not let you get married to her and make her your Luna. you have to decide for yourself what you really want and want to make you happy"

"That is it, I don't know what I want. I mean I am happy to be here and to see my parents and the entire pack that is all I've always wanted, But then I don't think I can live my life without Hannah by my side. I have lived every day with her and she has taken care of me and loved me so much even when she did not know that I was her mate, how could I turn my back on her right now? how could I choose to be by another person's side and not hers when I promised her that we'll always be together, what I feel is more than a broken promise, anguish and bitterness have captured my soul, Lily"

She stared at him for a moment unable to say anything, as an Omega she understood him and how his mates must be feeling at the moment, but then it wasn't just about them as well, this was more complicated than he thought. if he chooses her he will have to lose the one thing he has always wanted; she has known Shawn for a long time and if there was something that he has lived to see is to hear him always talking about how he was going to be a better Alpha and lead the people. Walking towards his desk, she picked up a photo album and flipped to the first page only to see him, she smiled widely.

"You still have these?"

"What are those?"
