The Alpha Weredragon's Favorite
CHAPTER 107 – She's HERE!

Lyra

I had taken out one she-wolf and I faced the other, still not a scratch on me. My emerald eyes flashed as I sized up my remaining opponent, golden hair whipping around my face in the wind. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through me, keeping me alert and ready.

How long my good luck would last, was anyone's guess. But I was determined not to go down without a hell of a fight. I had already proven my strength and cunning by coming this far, and I wasn't about to fall. Come what may, I would stand my ground with all the courage and grit I possessed.

I just hoped luck stayed on my side.

"It's not luck," huffed what I knew to be the White Wolf, "It is all down to our fighting skills."

"Forgive me" I answered back in my mind, "I didn't mean to offend." I knew better than to question the White Wolf's prowess. Her skills were legendary, honed over countless battles and trials. To suggest that mere luck played a role in our success was a disservice to her abilities.

It was then that the second she-wolf leaped at us, her powerful hind legs propelling her through the air with frightening speed. I intended to meet her mid-air in my human form, relying on my agility and quick reflexes to gain the upper hand. The plan was to wrestle her to the ground, maneuvering her into an arm bar before applying pressure to her throat until she lost consciousness.

But as is often the case in the heat of battle, things did not go according to plan.

And for once, it worked in my favor.

In mid-air, a warmth flowed through me and my bones became supple, like I was on the brink of falling asleep. My vision changed while time seemed to stand still. Each droplet of spit from my opponent's mouth became crystal clear and defined. The long whiskers on her brown snout flattened in confusion at the same time her eyes slowly widened in surprise. A yelp of fear escaped her maw right as we crashed into each other.

I expected a hard as hell impact. what I got was something completely different. Our bodies colliding felt like I was touched by a soft blanket, that was suddenly whisked away. And when I touched back to the ground, I landed not on feet but gigantic paws, bigger than my human head.

The crowd went silent for a moment, then erupted into gasps and cheers. I could hear them shouting, "The White Wolf! It's the White Wolf!"

I'd done it. I had finally shifted.

And Yaaasss! I was the White Wolf.

I turned my head and saw Ryan standing at the edge of the arena, his eyes wide with amazement. A slow smile spread across his face, filled with pride and admiration. He nodded at me, as if to say, "You go, Lyra!"

I felt a surge of strength flow through me, knowing that Ryan believed in me. I turned back to face my opponent, who was now cowering in fear. She whimpered and backed away; her tail tucked between her legs.

The crowd's cheers grew louder as I panted, my white fur gleaming under the sunlight. The wolf I was fighting now lay on her belly, offering her neck in submission. I stepped back, not wanting to harm her further and took a well-deserved moment to take it all in.

The feeling of power that coursed through my veins, was in describable as well as the level of adrenaline pumping through my body.

I felt invincible.

But I couldn't let the moment last forever. I had a job to do. I had to win this fight.

My ears perked up; my tail held high. The crowd was still cheering, their faces filled with awe and admiration. I felt a sense of pride wash over me.

I looked around the clearing, taking in the sight of the other wolves, their eyes fixed on me. I could feel their respect, their loyalty. I was soon to be their Luna.

I turned back to the she-wolf who had submitted to me. She was still lying on her belly, her head down. I approached her slowly, my movements deliberate and calculated.

As I drew closer, she whimpered, her tail tucked between her legs. I could see the fear in her eyes, but I also saw something else. Respect.

I leaned down, my snout inches from hers. I could feel her warm breath on my face, her heart beating rapidly. I nudged her gently with my nose, a sign of acceptance.

She whimpered again, but this time, it was a sound of relief. I could feel her body relax, her muscles unclench.

I stepped back, my tail wagging. The crowd erupted into cheers once again, their voices echoing through the clearing.

Looking around, I took in the sight of Ryan tall, handsome, and all mine. Then there was the pack, all of them cheering for me now. In that instant, they had all become my family. I felt a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose.

I turned to face the other she-wolf, the one I had taken out earlier. She was still lying on the ground, her eyes closed. I approached her slowly, my movements cautious.

As I drew closer, I could see the rise and fall of her chest. She was still alive. I let out a sigh of relief.

I nudged her gently with my nose, trying to rouse her. She stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She looked up at me, her eyes filled with fear and confusion.

I leaned down, my snout inches from hers. I could see the recognition in her eyes, the realization that I was the White Wolf.

I nudged her again, a sign of forgiveness. She whimpered. "I'm sorry. So sorry. I thank you, Luna, for your mercy."

She already saw me as her Luna. That was all well and good, but I still had one more fight left.

Brittany.

And somehow, I didn't think it would be so easy.

Shelia's screams cut through the noise, "The fight must continue, or you're disqualified!" Her face was a bitter mask twisted in anger. Her eyes blazed win an unholy fury.

I looked around, unsure of what to do. Suddenly, Ryan's voice boomed over the chaos, "Everyone, be quiet!" His Alpha command silenced the crowd instantly.

He strode up to Shelia, his posture radiating his authority to command and be obeyed. "This fight is over. Lyra has won this round."

Shelia opened her mouth to protest, but Ryan cut her off with a glare. "Do not question me, Shelia. I am the Alpha here."
