The Blind Luna
Chapter 22

SABRINA SANTIAGO

“This is going to sting badly but we can’t let your injury get some infection,” he let out for the first time after twenty minutes of silence. He rubbed the substance gently on the wounded surface, making me flinch a little. I couldn’t help it as a low growl escaped my lips.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized as he continued to apply the liquid to the areas. “Uhmm, why didn’t you tell me that I was expecting a pup with Alpha Ray?” the words that kept lingering in my mind ended up slipping out. He stopped applying the substance before sighing.

“I sent my Beta to sneak into your pack, to actually find out about your family, since that might actually please you, but he told me that your family left after they couldn’t find you and that your pack is in danger. He said the Alpha is in search of his rejected mate who he banished and that she is carrying his pup. The alpha of the red moon pack.” he let out, and I could hear the bitterness in the last statement.

“I have made my guard search every pack, mountain, and woodland until they find them,” he said, making me smile a little.

“Wait, but I’m still a vir__gin,” I stuttered to complete the sentence. “Ray already knows that you are here and mother invited him over for a party she is throwing tomorrow,” he let out, making me grab his hands tightly. “Why did she invite him? Why didn’t you stop her?” I let out, as a slip of tears found their way down my cheeks.

“Slow down Sabrina, he can’t do anything to you and he won’t take you away, not under my watch. He isn’t your mate or Alpha,” he muttered softly, as I was pulled into a confronting hug. “I know you might be wondering why I’m not stopping him from coming. My mother has her plans of making Ray get you back but I won’t let that happen,” he said, pecking my forehead.

“I have a plan tomorrow,” he let out.

“I have something to tell you,” I said, not wanting to keep this to myself. “Alright,” he said, rubbing my hands gently. “Your mother wanted me to reject you publicly tomorrow, she says you had no intention of taking me back to my family and,” I tried to complete my statement but the smashing of things to the floor yet again was heard.

“Kai,” I said his name for the first time before getting down from the place I was sitting. “I wasn’t going to reject you,” I said, glancing in every direction. “You have been really nice and caring to me and, being my second chance mate, is something I’m, grateful for but then the moon Goddess had to bring this pup as a hindrance,” I said as strong hands held me.

“That pup would do great things and if you let me, I can be a father to him if you give me a chance to love both of you.” I let out. “But I don’t want to have a baby with Ray, he is a monster and this child would only hurt me and remind me of how cruel he was,” I let out. “That child is a blessing and you should be glad that there is a part of you growing.” he said before pulling me into a hug.

“The plan tomorrow is that you won’t leave my sight, Mi Luz. He has no right to stare at you or make you submit to his stupid request. You’re mine and only mine.” he said with a growl.

“What about your mother?” I asked.

“She is something I can handle very nicely,” he muttered in between chuckles.

********************************

I opened my eyes after sleeping for two hours and, luckily for me, my wolf had lent me her eyes again. I turned around but there was nobody in the room. I decided to move downstairs to meet a shirtless Kai making something in the kitchen while he sang around happily.

I turned around to leave but his voice stopped me. “You must be really hungry, let’s eat,” he said. “You have no clothes on,” I bluntly said, making him chuckle. “You will be seeing a lot of this, I’m all yours,” he said, ushering me to sit. His body looked smoking hot and I wouldn’t be able to eat if he still demanded that I eat, watching him shirtless.

“Our mate is so sexy,” My perverted wolf mind-link. “Shut Up,” I yelled, making Kai stare at me. “Are you okay?” he asked, making me nod sheepishly.

“I’m sorry for not protecting you the last time, it was wrong of me,” he let out, making me stunned. I didn’t know what to say to make him feel like he wasn’t supposed to feel guilty for anything. “You shouldn’t apologize, you had no power in whatever situation that occurred! I was so worried about you,” I let out.

“Can we play a game?” I asked, trying to change the topic and clear the air. “What kind of game?” he asked. “It’s a game whereby you get to ask me a question and I get to return it with a sincere answer and the same goes to you,” I said, earning a nod. “Alright, who goes first?” he asked.

“Do you have a paper and pen?” I asked and he nodded before getting up. After a few seconds, he trudged back with a pen and paper. I sliced the paper before penning down two colors on the pieces.

I wrapped the piece of paper before shaking it and throwing it on the table. “If you pick green, you have to ask first, but if red. I get to ask first,” I let out as he picked before unfolding it. The moment he unfolded it he smiled before showing me. “Red,” I read.

“You get to ask first,” he let out, making me sigh. “Why do you call me Mi Luz?” I asked, hopefully waiting for a reply. “Mi Luz means My light,” he said, holding my hands across the dining table.

“I wasn’t really happy until I saw a candle that shined my heart and made me want to live past every day. Sabrina, you are My Light,” he let out, making my wolf struggle to take over.

She was in heat.
