The Bully's Hated Mate
The Bully’s Hated Mate – Chapter 64

LUCIUS’ POV:

Almost immediately, we released the remaining prisoners that were also locked up, the last surviving soldiers of our pack and together, we silently crept back up.

The guard I had killed was dragged down to the dungeon and locked there. We were to leave no evidence of our presence in the first place.

The first place we were to go was Ariadne’s room. I recalled leaving her in our room because she was still asleep but now, I’ve never been more grateful that I knew exactly where she was.

The plan was to penetrate Cedric using Ariadne as a leverage and then, we’d force him to relinquish the power he stole from my father and have him transfer my birthright to me.

I didn’t know where Cedric was at the moment but that problem was going to be solved soon. Everyone knew what to do immediately we came out of the dungeons below.

The two remaining guards of my pack scattered to different directions and took out the guards that were not exactly guarding.

I crept towards the hall, knowing fully well that the men were already coming back inside and were about to go back to their posts.

As we got towards the dining area where I knew there were always guards, I looked to Marcus and we shared some kind of information because he came in front of Cassia, instinctively protecting her like I’d requested without words.

I crept behind one of the guards and immediately the guard turned around but it was too late, I hit him behind the eyes with one of my claws, creating a huge hole between his eyes.

I looked to the left and saw that Marcus had his hands around the neck of the other guard.

They struggled and I immediately clawed out the heart of the guard, splattering b***d to all three of us.

Cassia looked shocked, and Marcus was grateful.

I gave a curt nod and started to creep in the darkness, silently making sure not to make any noise as we made our way towards the bedroom I was sure she was in.

We still had a long way to go and as we rounded up a corner, we bumped into a guard.

Immediately, I put my hand on his neck and his back to my chest as we struggled.

I tried to claw his throat but he hit my stomach, evaporating whatever air I held in that space.

He slipped away for a second and that was my doom.

I grabbed him by the arms and dragged him back but immediately, his face transformed to that of a wolf’s.

His face tilted upwards and he let out a short but very loud howl before it got cut off.

He slumped on the floor and Marcus held his heart in his hands.

I gave a look of thanks but we all titled our heads upwards as more and long howls were heard from far and near.

“s**t. They know” Marcus said.

I didn’t let it stop me, we were going to do what we needed to do.

We all sprinted towards her room, already noticing the rising amount of footsteps that came from down the halls and from all directions.

I started to feel some kind of fear. What if they captured Cassia? What if they tried to fight her?

I let go of my fears as we finally rounded up the corners and we were steps away from the double doors that were supposed to lead to her.

The only problem now was that guards were racing towards us.

I transformed, Damon growling as he came in control. I looked to my side and saw that Marcus had also transformed.

Instinctively, I stood in front of Cassia.

Whatever happened today, Cassia was to be protected at all cost.

I charged at the rogues that came at us, most wielding swords and dangerous weapons.

I grabbed one by the shoulders and with so much strength, flung him across the room, hitting two more as he flew.

I hit another, grabbing one by the neck and ripping his vocals out. I heard gurgling and choking. I turned around fleetingly and Marcus had someone in his mouth in a flytrap motion.

He was chopping off their heads and Cassia was staying out of the way.

We fought our way through the crowds of people that stood between us and the one thing that was going to make our demands heard and done.

We got to the door finally, looking back to look at the bloody mess we left in our wake. Cassia kicked the door open while we were distracted.

“Ariadne!” She screamed, startling us to reality.

There, Ariadne stood in the middle of even more dangerous men, being guarded by at least ten men.

Marcus charged first this time, throwing the first man that came at him across to me. Immediately, I changed back and placed a heavy leg on his chest as he choked.

Marcus looked like he had it, I know I said I was going to let us fight Cedric together, but he was mine.

“Where is he?” I shouted at the man I held under my boots.

He choked and Cassia sprinted past me towards Ariadne with so much rage.

I tried to stop her but the quick movements of the man beneath me, had me clawing into his shoulder as screams of men being killed rang out in unison.

Marcus was busy and now, Cassia was brushing past falling men and dead bodies, her hair whipping against her back as she ran fiercely towards Ariadne.

“Where?” I shouted again and the man screamed out, the knife falling from his hand from the pain I was inflicting on him.

I hit him against the wall, sighting that Marcus was nearly done with killing off the last men in the room.

“Where?” I shouted at the man, my fangs dangerously close to his ears.

“Throne room” he managed to choke out as my claws moved from his shoulders to his throat, choking the life from him.

I heard his neck snap and he fell limply from my hands. Damon pumped me full with so much rage, I was going to kill Cedric now that I knew where he was.

I sprinted out of the room, reserving my energy for when I saw him.

“Lucius!” I heard Cassia scream but I didn’t stop, she was safe now in the company of Marcus.

I was certain that Marcus was going to protect her if anything happened to me but I knew that I was going to end all of this and I didn’t care if I was going to make it or not, but this ended today!

I continued to be fuelled by rage, rushing past the guards that threw themselves at me, swords out.

I grabbed the closest thing I could see and swung at whoever came at me first, fighting with so much blind rage, I didn’t know when I saw myself at the throne room.

My body reeked of so much b***d spilt but I dropped my makeshift weapon as I came face to face with Cedric.

“I see you made it” Cedric said, standing up from the throne he stole from me.

Guards came to surround him as he stood up.

Rage gave me a new face as I looked at him now, my eyes burning from all the energy I was using.

“Face me! You pathetic coward!” I shouted, and he smiled.

***

Cassia

” Lucius!” I screamed as I saw him run past the open doors.

I stood, facing Araidne who had her claws out, and the erratic fall and rise of both of our chests as adrenaline pumped through both of us.

Marcus stepped forward but I hissed.

“This one’s mine!” I shouted as Marcus made a snarl sound towards Ariadne.

Her face showed so much fear immediately Marcus stepped forward.

Marcus looked at me, still in his wolf form giving me a look I knew what it meant.

“Go. Find Lucius and help him” I said, my voice leveling but Marcus wasn’t moving.

“Get the f**k out of here! I can handle myself. Now, get out! She’s mine!”

He seemed to disagree but he started to run out of the room.

I growled at Ariadne, finally alone.

“Looks like it’s just us, you trash” she said, giving a bit of a chuckle.

My breath seized on the word.

“Did Lucius tell you how much I made him m**n?”

I growled with so much anger. She noticed how much it got to me and chuckled even more.

“No? I don’t think he loves you even a bit, and I think you’re the biggest fool I’ve ever come across. Does your dad tell you you’re worthless, or is it just me?” She said and suddenly stopped.

” Oops” she said as she sneered at me even more.

I screamed and charged at her, transforming at the fastest speed I have ever changed.

It stunned her as it stunned me, the way she also transformed.

Her wolf was the brightest shade of brown, almost red. Almost spectacular.

I went straight for her throat but she blocked it and tried to go for my shoulder, her teeth sank into my shoulder and instinctively, I sank mine right back in hers.

She screamed in so much pain and clawed at my side. I threw her off and she hit the window, shattering the glass instantly.

I went after her again, she charged at me too.

She tried to claw my eyes. I missed it and it hit my chest instead. I let out a guttaral scream. She pushed me so hard, I knocked my wardrobe, taking half of the wood with me.

Wood splatters splayed across the floor but I was on my feet again but before I could stand up fully, a heavy force fell on me.

Her wolf was snarling and trying to bite my neck but I had my hand in between her mouth. She snarled and chewed on my forearm. I screamed, tears stinging my eyes.

I pierced her side with a long claw, and she let go of my hand, howling in pain.

Blinded by pain, I pushed her with my good hand and she fell on her back. I tried to climb on top of her, grabbing her injured shoulder with my claws, inflicting more pain on her.

She fought beneath me and without paying attention to what she was doing as she squirmed underneath me. She scratched my face with swift motion.

My vision blurred a bit. She used that to her advantage and bit the foreskin that surrounded my injured forearm.

Like lightening, my sight cleared and I howled in great pain.

I sucker punched her face, earning an equal punch to my injured shoulder.

I fell off her, our heads bumping against each other as we bled out and gasped in pain and fatigue.

I tried to move my limbs but I could feel Maya retreating. I transformed to my human form.

Breathing deeply, I looked to my side and saw that Ariadne was human too.

“Pathetic much?” She asked me.

The strength Maya had provided me with earlier was gone now as I struggled to breathe through my exhaustion.

“Lucius told me how disgusted he was of you” she began and laughed a bit.

” It’s funny because we used to talk about how much we both despised you and inwardly, I know you know he still hates you” she said.

“How long did it take before he finally decided to mark you? Did you force yourself on him? You f*****g slut” she said again.

“Everywhere you go ends up becoming diseased. I’m sure you know that, you’re worthless and always will be”

I was battling with so much anger.

How dare her!

My heart, beating twice as hard as something unlocked within me.

In a swift motion, I stood on my knees and dug into whatever I could find and pulled with all my might, roaring as hard as I could.

As the moonlight hit my hands, my breath hitched in my throat as the now slowing beat of a heart was perfectly wrapped in my palms.

I looked down to see the most pained expression on Ariadne’s face. Suddenly, the world tilted and my strength finally gave out.
