The Fall Of Lucian -
Chapter 17
The alphas’ wounds have healed completely, and that morning before dawn had risen they were on their feet ready to make the journey to the top of the mountain. The two were ready to face this wolf once more, and this time they would show no mercy.
-I think we should go that way,” Ethan in his human form contemplated the path he suspected Lucian had taken.
-Are you sure? -asked his companion, coming to his side.
The cold was insanely cold where they were, and the more they climbed, the worse it would get.
-Yes, we’ll go that way,” Eren observes the path, it was very rocky and overgrown with bushes.
-All right, then, let’s go.
The friends showed their true nature by setting off after Lucian. They were on their heels, perhaps this battle would be over sooner than they expected.
[…]Lucian climbed the mountain in his human form in a very agile manner. It was as if he had done it hundreds of times. The cold as he climbed was nothing to him, his task was to reach the top of the peak.
The wolf pauses for a moment, and turns his face away.
-Those damn alphas keep following me,” he frowns. It’s just that the beating I gave them didn’t do them any good, I’ll have to deal with them once and for all.
He turns around completely, and that’s when he notices the huge scar on his arm. Eren’s bite had been quite dangerous, it took him a while to heal it and that wasn’t normal for him.
He frowns again, and Ethan was no slouch. He’d gotten pretty strong over the years. Now that he got a good look at him, Lucian crosses his arms, what were those two doing together hunting him?
For several moons, Eren had been trying to catch him to kill him, but he always did it in the company of his pack, not with Ethan; and the fact that they were so suddenly together made him think of something curious.
The man looks up at the forbidden mountain.
-What are you up to, you damned witch?
It was the only hypothesis he could think of, that witch was planning something. And since he knew her so well; he suspected what she was up to. Suddenly, Lucian smiles.
-You won’t get away with this so easily.
Then he looks at the path he left behind, those alphas were on his trail, maybe they needed a little separation. Together it would be impossible for them to attack, but separately, it was another matter.
Lucian turns around and begins to plan what to do to prevent their ascent. It was obvious that together he could not attack them.
[…]When the prisoner wakes up, he feels something very different from the night before. When he wakes up fully, he looks down at his feet, he was not chained. He frowns knowing that he was free that morning, he wondered if it was a trap or something like that.
He sat upright on the cot, managing to sit up without feeling much pain. Sure, it still hurt, but not like the first few days. He uncovered his wound and noticed that it was bleeding only a little.
It was nothing to die for.
Then he looks next to him and notices a pile of clothes, the truth is that he didn’t like all that much.
However, he didn’t think twice about taking the clothes and getting dressed; he was completely naked.
As he dressed with some clumsiness, he felt a little better, he wouldn’t be so exposed every time that pretentious albino girl visited him… he tried to stand up, and even though he was looking at hell, he managed to do it.
He manages to take a few steps to the grille of the door, checking whether it was open or closed. But it was closed. He flattens his lips; he had been released from the shackles, but they did not give him freedom to leave.
Back to the cot, where he longed to lie down again.
-I see you’ve been able to get up, that’s a good sign,” he hears from behind him, the old witch had visited him again. The herbs I prepared for you in an infusion are working.
-Well, not quite, because I’m still bleeding,” he lifts his shirt so she can see the b***d.
-But it’s much less than before, that can be remedied. You just need to get cleaned up and he sells you.
-Are you coming in? I’m unchained,” he asks captiously.
-I’m not, but she is…..
At that moment, a pretty young woman appears, carrying a tray of cloths in her hands. He looks at her in disappointment, the truth is that he thought someone else was going to take care of him. Then he looks away.
-As you wish.
-Ria is no ordinary girl, if you try anything foolish, she’ll bite your head off. You’d better be a good boy and cooperate, but most important of all, don’t do anything stupid.
-Don’t worry, old woman. With these wounds I wouldn’t make it a mile away.
The old woman opens the cell, and he looks at the open door out of the corner of his eye. This was his chance to escape, but he was aware that this young woman was a werewolf just like the albino, and with her wounds she would get nowhere.
He looked away, he wasn’t interested in that girl. He just wanted to see that albino.
The young woman began to heal his wound and bandage it, he felt a lot of pain, however; he put up with it as long as it stopped bleeding and he could move around calmly… after being healed, the young woman offered him the herbal tea of the old woman.
-Why doesn’t the old woman heal me? Can’t she transform like you? -she looks at Ria with those piercing grey eyes. The young woman blinks and looks down.
-She’s the matriarch, she can’t transform. She was born with the gift of being the healer of us all.
-I see, and where is that pretentious albino? -The young woman looks up and stares at him in astonishment.
-You mustn’t talk like that about my mistress.
-Your mistress? What does that mean? Is she some kind of princess or something?
Ria is silent, even if Deisy has told her that he already knew the truth about the werewolves, he didn’t have to tell her all about them. Least of all about their alpha.
-I’m just telling him not to refer to her that way.
-Why?
-Because…
-I’d laugh!
Deisy’s loud voice echoed through the dungeon, and both she and the human turned to look at her.
-Are you done?
-Yes.
-Then leave.
The young woman hastily gathered up her things and hurried out of the cell. Deisy stared at the human, and the human stared at her.
-So, you’re some kind of princess!
-I see you’re better, you’ve put on the clothes I had them bring you,” he half smiled, as she changed the subject drastically.
-Thank you so much for freeing me, at least from the shackles.
Deisy was on the other side of the gate, while he was still sitting on the cot, watching her.
-Don’t expect me to let you out.
-Do you think I want to escape? -he asked with mockery in his eyes.
-I don’t care about your mocking questions.
-I doubt very much if I can go very far in this state, besides, what makes you think I want to leave?
She maintains the posture and firmness with which she entered the place, but inside, everything inside her was in turmoil.
-In a couple of days when you’re better, you’ll leave.
-Really? -he questions, rising to his feet. To which Deisy sharpens her gaze. Will you send me to that other part?
-I will!
-I’m anxious then.
The human stands at the edge of the door and the exit. She swallows, as the two were quite close.
-What’s the matter? Have you gone mute?
-You’re a human with a lot of guts. But very stupid.
-I can’t say I’ve heard it before, since I don’t remember anything.
-I still don’t believe you can’t remember anything. -It’s impossible that you don’t know what happened to you. But when you get to your destination, you’ll have to remember everything, they won’t be as flexible as I’m being.
He smiles, his eyes shining brightly.
-So you’re being hospitable to me, and why is that?
-Because I’m interested in finding out what happened to you before you go.
-The interest!
And in one swift movement, the human takes Deisy by the waist and pulls her close to his chest.
-I thought a lot of things about you, except that you were a pretentious albino interest.
And with those words said, he ends up joining his lips with hers. The k**s caught the albino unawares, and she didn’t expect him to k**s her at all.
Within a fraction of a second, Deisy pushed the human, who fell roughly onto the cot. She watched as he made a pained expression, then brought his hand to his rib.
-Wow, it really hurts to k**s you,” she half-smiles, but at the same time the pain is taking its toll on him.
She looks at him a moment longer, and notices that the shirt at his side is beginning to stain with b***d.
-Oh, wow! I don’t think that’s good,” the human looks down at the shirt.
As he pulls it up, he notices that the bandage is completely painted red. Deisy saw it too and didn’t know why, but she was worried about the health of that damned human.
The albino rushes out of the cell, without even saying goodbye.
-Wait, don’t go.
He intends to stand up to go after her, but the pain in his side was so intense that he doesn’t make it. And she ends up running out of the dungeon.
-Shit,” she mumbles, squeezing the wound, looks at the open cell and clenches her jaw.
[…]Deisy rushes out of the dungeon, leaving instructions for a guard to inform Ria that she must treat the human’s wound again.
She, for her part, storms off to the meeting room. With her thoughts scrambled and all in chaos, the albino was at a crossroads at the moment. She didn’t know whether to send the human back to the king’s castle that day, or leave him in the pack a little longer.
What was all that about the k**s?
The albino didn’t understand why that stranger kissed her just like that, and the worst thing was that she did absolutely nothing to stop him. She just let him k**s her, which put her in the worst possible situation.
He was a prisoner and on top of that, a human who didn’t even come up to his ankles… the young albino girl sits at the alpha’s post thinking about what she should do with him.
But out of nowhere, she remembers the k**s, and her heart starts pounding. It was so agitated that it was uncomfortable for her to feel that way. Even with that idiot Ethan, she couldn’t feel the way she did now.
